After at least 36 hours of incessant rain, the sun came out for lunch, accompanied by a bitter wind. I snuggled up with a book but eventually had to go out as I was out of essential supplies - like bananas. I bought some gladioli and Dutch iris bulbs in Aldi, in the hope of summer colour. Last year's flash flood washed away all the perennials I'd planted.
Keep warm, everyone; and most of all, keep dry, if you can. Fingers crossed that all the flooding will recede soon and not come back.

. Seriously tired of incessant rain but profoundly grateful our river is staying within its banks and so sorry for those people who have been flooded.
