I feel the same about the behaviour yesterday as I did about the Bollocks to Brexit T. Shirts being worn , it was childish, crass and did the UK no favours.

Very embarrassing.

Farage has made a very comfortable living for nearly 30 years as a member of the European Parliament. If he was so against europe and has any principles , which I doubt, why continually put himself forward as our UK representative.
I saw a clip of him recently berating the incoming president, he was horribly rude to him, , sorry forget the name, rompuy? He was insulting and bullying. A shameful and embarrassing performance. No wonder he gets on so well with the US president.

I cannot bear seeing Farage, his face makes my hand twitch!

They showed themselves for what they truly are. I hope that anyone watching their childish behaviour is aware that rational, moderate British people do not condone their actions and are embarrassed by the silly spectacle they made of themselves.

Honestly was it really so bad?
I don’t pretend to know the EU rules but apparently flag waving is not allowed.

However leaving the EU as far as I know has never happened before, so what happened yesterday is a new experience for everyone.

Like him or loathe him, Farage has dedicated the last 27 years of his life attempting to extricate us from the EU, so surely a little bit of flag waving at the end of his speech could have been tolerated ?

He said that we love Europe but hate the EU which I think neatly sums up what a lot of us think.

Cringeworthy! I hope we are not all seen as being so discourteous and ill mannered. He does not speak for me and many of us in the UK.

Well, I don’t think there have ever been armed police in the European Parliament, and the only scuffle I can remember was between members of UKIP, which left Stephen Woolfe unconscious. I thought the valediction from other EU states were dignified and heartfelt.

I agree, their behaviour was in poor taste. But not as bad as armed soldiers marching in to enforce a coup or scuffles and fighting as seen in other parliaments. To expect polite behaviour from elected representatives is a lost cause IMO.

Until this year all MEPs had the flag of their countries displayed on their desks in the EU Parliament. I think it was the new "administration" that decided to make it against the rules.

That withstanding it was not the Brexit Party MEPs finest hour. I cannot condone their actions.

I agree Lucca and the display of waving the Union flag was in very poor taste.
For people who promote and say they value Britishness, their standards of behaviour fell well below what many of us consider acceptable.

Payback, albeit unintentionally, for the hideous behaviour of the EU MPs when they deliberately snubbed Theresa May at the party

I agree too, I thought it was appalling.They should have been gracious in their last EU meeting.
Being pleased to leave is one thing, but their behaviour went beyond that and was total bad manners.
It was mainly Farage, of course, who said everything in public presumably that he had always said in private.

Yes, it was a sad display. Very un-British.
