Happy Chinese New Year!

It’s the Year of The Rat
The Personality of the Rat may resonate with anyone who has ever had a pet rat? ? They are the most fabulous pets, or so I am told .....
People born in the Year of the Rat are characterised as smart, resourceful and quick-witted. They have great imaginations and make sharp observations, with the ability to take advantage of several opportunities.

I am not ashamed to say I am a rat, as is my SIL but I would have to say it with a big smile as he is the best SIL you could wish for.
I have also read that to meet challenges head-on in “”my” year, I should wear red underwear every day!
As if that’s going to happen grin
Any more Rats on GN?

You’re welcome Chris0
?

I realised there would be a few of us 1954 babies on here, that’s why I posted the longer thread - it wasn’t ‘all about me’ truly. I thought a few wooden horses might find it interesting!

Yes, I’m a rat as well and proud of it. My little brother is also a rat. Not sure about the red underwear though!!

I'm a dragon. My children are dog, rat and dragon. My grandchildren are horse, rooster and about to be rat.

Im a Fire Rooster, married to a Metal Snake!
There has always been plenty of metal in my husbands life after a 50yr career in the Contruction industry, but he still has a passion for all things metal, loves going around Steam Rallies and Railway museums, but sadly no longer works with metal like he used to do.

As for the Fire Rooster, does a liking for KFC count lol?

You are very lucky to be a rat. I worked for many years at the Medical Research Council and got to know many rats. They are clean bright friendly lovable creatures. We owe them a lot. Millions get used for medical research all the time but because people are taught to hate them licenses don’t gave to be applied for, same with mice. I had a pet rat too. So much discrimination that serves a purpose. It’s true they are opportunists (like us) and will use their wits to survive. But then I’m a rooster and will strut and make a racket.

Don't know what I am. But I believe that rats make absolutely wonderful pets. However that's an awful lot of red undies you will need to buy if you have to wear them every day. Even allowing for the fact that they are washed and reused!! Wonder what the cash out queue at M&S will think when you arrive with that lot???

I am a dog married to a monkey and our children are a rooster and a pig.

TrendyNannie6 Sun 26-Jan-20 10:09:29

Typical

TrendyNannie6 Sun 26-Jan-20 10:09:09

My dad was a rat, and a lovely one too, I’m a rooster and I’m a typically one in every way

Keeper1 Sun 26-Jan-20 10:03:32

I am a monkey

ladymuck Sun 26-Jan-20 10:02:42

I now have a good excuse to buy some red knickers.

Quizzer Sun 26-Jan-20 10:00:27

I am a Rat too. Never let it hold me back!

Chris0 Sun 26-Jan-20 10:00:26

Thank you Urmstongran I loved reading your note as I too was born in 1954. I too have niggling health issues and have been told by my doctor to listen to my body and slow down. How interesting.

dani4 Sun 26-Jan-20 09:59:37

Yes I'm a rat too!

Notsooldat75 Sun 26-Jan-20 09:52:39

I’m proud to be a horse

clareken Sun 26-Jan-20 09:51:14

I am a monkey.

Kartush Sun 26-Jan-20 09:37:24

Mine says I am a goat. Calm, gentle and sympathetic. Someone has got it so wrong, never been calm, gentle...possibly......sympathetic...that would be a huge no

Disgruntled Sun 26-Jan-20 09:24:18

I'm a rat, but, like others, scared of the four legged type. I didn't know we're supposed to wear red underwear! How exciting. My Rat year is beginning well, I hope other Rats have a fantastic year.

Persistentdonor Sun 26-Jan-20 09:12:46

I think red underwear could have a very uplifting effect on the psche.
Definitely give it a go!! smile

(I'm a rabbit.)

confused of course I don’t become an ox Rufus in the Year of the Ox, your Chinese Zodiac sign is dictated by the year of your birth in a 12 year cycle.
So no, not happy now. It was a fatuous comment and unnecessary except to constitute another sideswipe.

Rufus2 Sun 26-Jan-20 08:54:58

What are you talking about, or just being snitty again

Oh dear Maw! You've got the wrong end of the stick again! grinAnnsixty says she's an Ox, next year is Year of the Ox, therefore you two become Oxen, You've just told us you are expected to wear red undies for the rat, so what colour for the Ox? Or is that cracker still in the box?

Unfortunately the Chinese don't recognise Year of the Donkey, but they do revere their elders and I'm proud to say my underwear is always virgin white! grin
Happy Now?
OoRoo from a lovely Australia Day.

Susan56 Sun 26-Jan-20 08:30:31

I’m a rat too?

MawB Sun 26-Jan-20 08:17:57

What are you talking about, or just being snitty again?

MawB Sun 26-Jan-20 08:11:13
