If you need a good laugh the Hadley Freeman column in the Guardian on Monday is about the various products that Paltrow's company Goop sells. Apparently the candle sells for £58 and, like something called sex dust, which also retails for a similar price, has sold out.

She obviously has no acting jobs in the pipeline!!!

tiredoldwoman Fri 17-Jan-20 11:50:29

I wonder , if it's a sellout, who has bought it ? Men sniffing and getting horny at the thought of Gwyneth ? Eeech !
What's next - smells like my husband's pants ? I could advertise it as a diet aid , how to lose your appetite in 10 seconds and lose a stone easily .
I

Orly - I loved your post - very funny !

HannahLoisLuke Fri 17-Jan-20 11:43:23

A clean vagina doesn't smell of anything so what is she selling?

orly Fri 17-Jan-20 11:39:01

Well that's what happens when you're brought up in a convent.

"Goodnight girls. Candles out"

Pop, pop,,,pop....pop. pop. pop

Diggingdoris Fri 17-Jan-20 11:25:53

Nanak54 I love your comment!! Very witty.
I love scented candles, but who would want a vagina fragrance in their home? Bonkers!

pamdixon Fri 17-Jan-20 11:14:42

omg mega yuk is all I can say

grannymy Fri 17-Jan-20 11:14:15

I just can't imagine what it must smell like! There have been all sorts of jokes on Facebook about it. One of them being an opened can of tuna with a birthday candle in the middle!

4allweknow Fri 17-Jan-20 11:12:11

I thought it had been banned. If not then it should be. Wonder what kind of research was done for the candle and dust. The mind boggles!

granzilla Fri 17-Jan-20 11:11:23

OMG What Have I just read? envy envy envy (NOT ENVY).
I bought some crap in my hippy days ie. Seaweed shampoo, real sponge tampons (till they were banned due to toxic shock)
BUT. Even in my most deluded 'Mother Earth' era nothing could sway me to buy anything to do with other women's Eau de Vag, candle or otherwise. < goes for a lie down >

There was a girl on Twitter who posted, "£58? Are you mad? You can smell my fanny for a fiver". She got a lot of hugely witty responses.

Don’t suppose it will be a sell out! Yes Margs, her gimmicks and ideology are dangerous in some respects as I have read she is an anti vaccinator and can use her celebrity to spread her dangerous views.

Margs Fri 17-Jan-20 10:58:50

Gwynneth.Paltrow.Is.Nuts.

But not half as much as the gullible idiots buying into her "ideology" and throwing money at her gimmicks!

25Avalon Fri 17-Jan-20 10:46:17

Whatever turns you on!

TerriBull Fri 17-Jan-20 10:43:25

simultaenously simultaneously

TerriBull Fri 17-Jan-20 10:41:31

Although it's all quite funny and can't help thinking Ms Paltow is having a chortle whilst simultaenously making shedloads out of some women's gulibility with what is a complete load of bogus nonsense. Some of her claims about what certain products do have been disproved by doctors and with the warning that they could possibly be harmful in upsetting the delicate balance of the natural state of women's intimate parts. As with, feminine deodrants and other unnecessary products, evidence suggests that the vagina is best left in it's natural state. As an aside, it does seem she is very fixated on her genitals hmm Maybe someone could come up with an alternative website to alleviate her obsession, for a price of course!

EllanVannin Fri 17-Jan-20 10:38:14

My stomach heaved at this. The woman isn't right in the head !

If the ordinary woman in the street had thought this up she'd be jailed for being a pervert.

Patticake123 Fri 17-Jan-20 10:30:42

A fool and their money are easily parted!

Urmstongran Fri 17-Jan-20 10:19:48

Eurgh!

I daresay Ms Paltrow is having the last laugh though!
? ?

Luckygirl Fri 17-Jan-20 10:01:55

Reminds me of the woman who made her living selling her worn (as in she has worn them) knickers by mail order for men to sniff. Apparently the demand was so great that she started rubbing a bit of olive oil from a sardine tin on them instead in order to keep up!

MissAdventure Fri 17-Jan-20 09:48:49

The thing is though, that now, if ever I see one of these candles, I'll have to sniff it.

westendgirl Fri 17-Jan-20 09:41:20

More money than sense .!

MissAdventure Fri 17-Jan-20 09:37:24

Gives a whole new meaning to the words "fanny wax'.

Auntieflo Fri 17-Jan-20 09:36:38

Thought it rather paltry myself

Dinahmo Fri 17-Jan-20 09:35:02

Apparently it's a gorgeous, sexy and beautifully unexpected scent. A mix of geranium, bergamot, cedar, damask rose and ambrette seed - whatever that is. Hadley wrote "Gwynneth sure does spend a lot of time up there to have picked up on all that.

Thank you for your comments ladies, you've given me a good start to the day.

PS there's also the jade eggs (for insertion) that sell for about £60 with a note attached saying that the little hole is for a string and they recommend unwaxed dental floss !!

PPS that made me laugh too, because, apart from anything else, here in France string means a thong!
