Online grocery shop - just had to laugh !

I ordered one particular brand of milk and as it was out of stock ( obviously it was in stock when I ordered it) they sent NO substitute at all which meant no milk for a cup of tea etc when I’d only just come back from being on holiday. I wasn’t happy!

I ordered a swiss roll, they sent 24.

Just reminds of "4 candles" when "fork handles " were requested - sorry, still makes me laugh !

I ordered garlic, instead of substituting with garlic paste or in a jar they sent ginger.

The best one I’ve heard may be apocryphal: salmon paste was ordered, and the substitute was toothpaste.

I had 3kg of plain yoghurt at Christmas... the 3 was actually supposed to be tins of beans. It wasn't a substitute, just an error. The same order delivered the three most expensive items short-dated. Not too short to eat but annoying for my meal-planning whilst we had visitors. They refunded these so that was good news in the end.

We are vegetarian and so some years ago we ordered Quorn "chicken style" to try. It was subbed with real chicken...

I was told by the "yogurt supermarket " that they had taken on lots of Christmas staff and they thought their "training was rushed".

Apparently my niece just ordered 800 sandwich platters for her GD's party instead of 6 on her online supermarket order - she'd put the time in the quantity column! Luckily they rang her to check it was correct before processing it!

I ordered cat litter tray liners and received ladies panty liners.

With another store I ordered a small carton of grapes and I received 5 grapes.

My favourite substitute was when I ordered Christmas cards and received chocolate Teddy Bears.

Not so funny when glutenfree bread was subbed with ordinary bread.

Ha ha ha, brilliant Hazel93. I had something similar recently; requested a small fruit loaf and a huge fruit Dundee cake was substituted. It was immediately returned with hoots of laughter.
