This is not my experience of Edinburgh and our DC, DGC and friends were born there. 10 years ago, they were home the same day or after a very short time. One who had a C-section was in a side room with privacy and no-one could stay overnight. I am talking about the New hospital.
Is this a recent development? I don't like the sound of it at all.
Bring back MATRON!! all is forgiven
I was at the Sick Kids (Royal Hospital for Sick Children) recently and both the baby's parents were being housed in a local flat belonging to the hospital which was a wonderful support for the distraught couple. Baby recovered.
Good quality disposable plates

Someone rang for staff and the ward sister came running in. She was an absolute tyrant of the old school, mid-50’s, a spinster, rules must be obeyed type, but lovely to the mums and babies. She made that man wish he’d never been born himself!
. No one would dare do that nowadays.
