Who one earth is he please anybody? He seems to think he speaks for the nation.....isn't he on X factor?

merlotgran Tue 14-Jan-20 10:00:38

This is how it goes these days.

'I don't agree with you. I'm (always) right. You've been misinformed.'

End of!

hmm

Callistemon Tue 14-Jan-20 09:59:49

MerylStreep grin it is truly amazing what you can learn on Gransnet.
I should ask "Links please?"

suziewoozie you tend to tell it how it is - what is that a euphemism for?

BradfordLass Piers Morgan is British (English) so is as entitled to live here as any other British person even if some of us wish he'd go back to America.

He is controversial, that's for sure.

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 09:53:24

suziewoozie MY posts are filled with half truths, gossip and misinformation?? Your arrogance is on par with your obduracy.

Piers Morgan has often spoken of his friendship with Meghan long before any of this blew up. Will you enlighten me as to how you know so much about Piers Morgan? How do you know so much about this whole issue above and beyond the rest of us? You fall back on foul language and insults whilst demanding higher standards from everyone else. Labelling PM a prick?! What’s that all about? You think you know better than everyone else - you don’t!!

JenniferEccles Tue 14-Jan-20 09:53:15

Ah now we have it, ‘right wing’

Perish the thought anyone on here should be right wing!!

How dare we !!

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 09:41:42

Exchanging messages on Twitter and meeting once for a drink ( 90 mins) equals ‘being good friends’ ? ???? MM never saw him again after that one meeting - I can quite imagine why. I wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes in his company. His claims to some special status is all part of his self delusion.

sparkii Tue 14-Jan-20 09:41:25

MS, here's a thing....there was a time delay between my post and today....I know amazing eh?

During this time, I watched a few bits and pieces on you tube and so on. I don't know about his friendship with MM, anymore than you know about the inner workings of the RF. I am a pleb who captures snippets of information.

I think M has been badly treated, just as many others in the RF have been badly treated. I just don't really care tbh.

EllanVannin Tue 14-Jan-20 09:36:26

An obnoxious individual !

MerylStreep Tue 14-Jan-20 09:34:13

Sparkii
You started the thread by asking who one? earth is he please
But now this morning you know all about his ego and his friendship with, Megan, all this info gleaned after a few posts ?

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 09:32:24

Oh come on ‘merlot’ you’re brighter than that.

Chestnut Tue 14-Jan-20 09:31:51

Agreed, Maddyone. Straight talking is never popular. People who say what everyone is thinking but are too polite to say! PM certainly does that and it really ruffles a lot of feathers.

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 09:31:41

‘‘Don’t know if it’s true. I think it’s probably true though’

Sums up GN and the whole MM debate doesn’t it?

merlotgran Tue 14-Jan-20 09:30:46

If somebody states on the TV or writes an article saying they were once good friends with somebody do we need further evidence?

Just wondering.

Urmstongran Tue 14-Jan-20 09:30:24

I don’t watch GM. I imagine Piers Morgan is purposefully acerbic to get the ratings up? Look, he’s even got his own thread here!

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 09:29:34

‘Common sense’ ‘tells it how it is’ is generally right wing code for right wing racist misogynistic opinionated stupid bigot.

suziewoozie Tue 14-Jan-20 09:28:18

* tickingbird* and your posts are filled with half truths, gossip and misinformation. Where’s your evidence they were good friends?

maddyone Tue 14-Jan-20 09:26:08

I don’t ever watch him, but I sometimes hear about things he’s said. I think from what I’ve heard that he tells it how it is. I gather that upsets some people. I think I’ve seen him at least once on Question Time, and he was straight talking then (but I don’t remember the subject they were discussing.) I certainly heard about him knowing Meghan when he was in America and that she dropped him like a hot brick when she met Harry, but then I heard also that Meghan sought out journalists and others who could promote her and talked with them to try to promote her career. Don’t know if it’s true. I think it’s probably true though.

JenniferEccles Tue 14-Jan-20 09:25:10

I didn’t say I liked Morgan just that I agreed with what he said about Meghan yesterday.

I don’t always like his interviewing technique although as has been said, he does get results from some difficult people.

It is perfectly possible to not particularly like a person yet sometimes agree with what they say.

Donald Trump falls into that category too.

sparkii Tue 14-Jan-20 09:23:33

I don't know it not do I know him. Nor do any of us know the RF. I said " I somehow feel"

OK?

Chestnut Tue 14-Jan-20 09:18:41

There's no doubt he has a giant ego but he does talk a lot of common sense and often stands up for what is right. The interview with the gun lobbyist was not the only time! Just last week he tore into some ghastly Aussie politician over the bush fires. I get that some people find him unbearable, and sometimes I do, but he is not as bad as people make out.

maddyone Tue 14-Jan-20 09:13:31

You know that do you sparkii?

sparkii Tue 14-Jan-20 08:58:54

I somehow feel Piers and his giant ego could withstand any alleged slight by MM. I doubt very much she was ever friends with him in the first place.

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 08:40:09

harrigan Precisely wink

harrigran Tue 14-Jan-20 08:37:43

You read it on Wikipedia so it must be gospel grin

tickingbird Tue 14-Jan-20 08:37:33

Regarding PM I have no real opinion one way or the other but suziewoozie’s hate filled rant about him just typifies the hypocrisy and double standards she practises.

The expression you can tell a person by the company he/she keeps is apt. Piers Morgan was a good friend of Ms Markle up until she landed the big prize and she then cut him dead. That he knows her far, far better than anyone on here is also pertinent. If as suziewoozie says he’s vile and misogynist why on earth was the lovely, woke M associating with him? At that time Piers Morgan was more famous than her even back in the US. Could it be she was using him to get an in to the A list ranks and limelight she craved?

Hmm? It could explain his rants. Nobody likes being used and then just dropped as if they don’t exist.

BradfordLass72 Tue 14-Jan-20 05:32:38

Not just suziewoozies opinion. I've been reading up on this individual.

Read the references used in the Wikipedia entries - this poor excuse for a human being has broken every rule of decency and honesty and more.

To say the UK has a law against 'hate mongering'
(The Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006) he seems to be breaking that law ever time he open his stupid mouth. Why is nothing done about that?

The people who have worked with him are loud in their condemnation of his arrogance and pomposity.
He is untrustworthy and a proven liar.

And yet, for reasons I fail to understnd this permanent resident of the USA continues to be paid a high salary in Britain (taking a job from a better journalist) for making a mockery of the values of most reasonable British people.

This morning I'd never heard of him.
Now I wish I never had.

BTW suziewoozie I wrote an article, 'Why men hate women - even the ones they love'. If you're interest in the theories, PM me.
