Question about traffic lights

To my knowledge, you can turn right if the main light is green but the filter light is unlit. There are a number of lights like that in Aberdeen, where the filter seems to only work at random times of the day.

I think I know what you mean.

If there is a green light to turn right, then you can (and should, if that's where you want to go).

If the main green light comes on you can turn right if there is no traffic coming towards you.

It might depend on the road layout, too.

That's to the best of my knowledge....

So just checking I’ve got this right - you’re asking if you can go if the right hand green filter arrow is not on, just the green light? If so, yes smile

First two lines are quoted from OP. Sorry that's not clear.

^but to the right of the green
is I presume green right hand filter(not lit)could also show a red filter.

If what you presume to be the right hand filter is not lit at all, that suggests to me that it is either broken or that it is only used sometimes. Perhaps that's what you need to ascertain.

Can't find the answer to a traffic light question in the highway code.
I bet its in there somewhere.
Stood at a crossroads right hand turn junction
Displaying a green to move off,
but to the right of the green
is I presume green right hand filter(not lit)could also show a red filter.
Are you allowed to make your right hand turn if nothing is coming from the opposite direction?
