Nothing there to frighten the 'orses, OPgrin

Wear, and enjoy!

Love it - 'nothing wrong with your legs'! He's right.
It looks nice on you and will be a versatile skirt. You can wear it with warmer tights now, and bare legs spring and summer.

Going off to browse Land's End....

I too think it looks fine and that you have lovely legs but I know exactly how you feel. I bought a new dress for Xmas and it’s roughly the same length on me as your skirt is on you and, despite reassurances to the contrary, I don’t feel very comfortable wearing it because I think it’s too short. So I don’t think the dress will get much wear.

So my advice is to go with your instinct. If you yourself don’t feel the length is right, send it back.

Looks good, and your legs are really shapely ( she says enviously ).

Dear Scribbles, you have lovely legs and the skirt is just great on you - hope you go ahead and wear it! Enjoy - I am sure you will receive lots of compliments!

MiniMoon Sat 28-Dec-19 14:13:57

It's a perfectly fine length.

I wish my legs looked as good as yours! envy

Marilla Sat 28-Dec-19 14:13:23

Looks really good. What about wearing black tights and flat black shoes?

Mapleleaf Sat 28-Dec-19 14:12:06

Scribbles, it looks fine and suits you. It’s not too short at all.
Thinking about the skirt being short, do you wear shorts? If you do, would you be having the same worry? I don’t think you would, would you? Wear your skirt with pride, it’s lovely and you’ve got the legs to suit it. ?

You’ve got lovely legs - I’m envious! You should definitely wear it. Love your cat, too.

Looks the ideal length to me.

grannydubh Sat 28-Dec-19 14:06:22

Looks great

tanith Sat 28-Dec-19 14:04:13

It looks perfectly fine, just wear it and don’t worry.

quizqueen Sat 28-Dec-19 14:01:30

You've still got decent legs as so wear it. It looks great for a holiday and you could always wear boots with it here, if you feel a bit self conscious, but no need to be.
My days of short skirts are definitely over, I'm afraid. I was noted for my minis and nice legs in the 60s but those days are gone.

Buffybee Sat 28-Dec-19 13:57:15

Honest opinion! It looks great!
And you have the legs for it as well......

Beechnut Sat 28-Dec-19 13:56:50

Pagzy Sat 28-Dec-19 13:53:20

Honest opinion - not too short and in fact a flattering length for your legs.

PamelaJ1 Sat 28-Dec-19 13:50:31

To me too. I’m 66 and I’d wear it.??

grannyactivist Sat 28-Dec-19 13:49:54

Not too short at all - just right in fact. (And the cat obviously approves too! smile)

GrannyGravy13 Sat 28-Dec-19 13:48:13

It looks perfectly ok to me ??

Scribbles Sat 28-Dec-19 13:46:48

Please can I have your frank opinions because I just can't decide.

I rarely wear a skirt and, when I do, it's always well below the knee. Although I wore micro-mini skirts in the 1960s, I am now 69 and that time has long gone.

However, I saw this lovely cotton skirt in the Lands End sale and took a chance, thinking it would be a useful wardrobe addition for casual summer wear, holidays, etc. It's well made; good quality fabric; fits well and has a couple of useful patch pockets BUT ... Is it too short?

I haven't shown this much leg in decades; when I sit down, it shows my knees. OH is no help at all. "Nothing wrong with your legs," he muttered and shambled off somewhere.

I don't really want to send the skirt back but I equally don't want to look ridiculous (mutton dressed as lamb, as my Gran would have said). It feels a bit weird to be posting pictures of my own legs on here but it's the quickest way I can think of to elicit some honest views. (Lucy Katt was determined to intrude!).

Is it too short? Should I return it for a refund?
