Good afternoon lovely peoples. Thank you, Baggs for being the deliverer of news. Bless you all for every kind thought.
If I said that I was feeling fine...I would be telling big, fat porkies. I am feeling lousy. But, I'm home and this is the best place to relax. I stayed in bed until lunchtime. Why did I feel guilty? Who knows. It's just that we all seem to feel that we should soldier on even when we know our body tells us otherwise.
I did not expect anything to be done in the back passage. I imagined that a rootle would be straightforward and if not pain free, well, maybe just a tad uncomfortable. WRONG! I has three bands attached to the mucosal thingy and these were secured tightly to help to lift the prolapse away from the anus. When I was in the recovery room, the pain became unbearable and I was given tramadol. No easing of discomfort, so I had a further dose. When back in the ward, I could barely breathe and the surgeon came to see me. As I held MacS's hand and screamed silently inside, she asked me which of three bandings was causing the problem. I couldn't respond. She did sense that one was too tight and released the tension. My back end went into a spasm. I couldn't have left the bed. MacS drove home in the dark through patchy fog. Lovely staff. Such kindness and patience especially when I had three almighty big "accidents" resulting in my Sloggis being cut off me and the entire bedding changed. So, wearing a huge nappy, I was made to feel comfortable and eventually fell asleep. The three ladies in the ward were so sweet. All Scots. We did chuckle from time to time. Anyways, MacS returned at lunchtime and once again, drove home through patchy fog. Bless him. He is quite wonderful. When the consultant returned to sign me out, I told her that I shall almost certainly not repeat the treatment when it is deemed necessary. I have undergone so much surgery over the years and realise that my body cannot be expected to recover as fully and rapidly as it did when I was younger.
I am sore and bruised and very tired. However, I am grateful for the stirling efforts of the staff in Oban hospital. I have huge respect for the NHS.
That's more than enough from me and my nethers. I am still TOYA and hope to return in a better frame of mind tomorrow. Love to you ALL.
