Good morning from the NE coast where we have a lovely bright and sunny winter morning.

Apologies for not posting for the last couple of days but I was hoping that things would have picked up and I’m sure everyone is beginning to get fed up with my misery.

Medically DH is doing rather well, all things considered. He is now without the tracheostomy tube altogether and is managing with nasal “bud” oxygen. The amount of medication has come right down and there is talk of him going up to the ward soon but...... he is suffering from delirium which is extremely upsetting and frightening . Continuously reaching out for things that are not there, thrashing around and talking nonsense. Yesterday he begged me to get him out as “they were all trying to kill him” and were “experimenting on him” during the night . When I try to calm him down and reassure him he gets very angry and tells me that “I am part of it all” . Some of the things he is saying are very frightening and hurtful . This went on almost all day Sunday and most of yesterday too. In the end they had to sedate him which is of course a step backwards .

The consultant anaesthetist tells me that this is fairly common in older people who have been on life support for as long as DH has . I think I have read everything available on the internet about Delirium which is very scary. They are going to try putting him in a special chair today in the hope that it might snap him out of it (apparently it can happen just like that ?).

Forgive me if I don’t post for a few days . I am really struggling to stay positive .

With huge thanks to all of those sending love, prayers and best wishes.

Love Gilly x

Good morning team ... Good morning Beechnut, well done for an early, bright & breezy opening.
Easy day for me today, more Christmas card writing and some parcels to prepare for posting. Partner working this morning ... it may be a good day for lunch out, as it’s quite bright, in our part of east London.

I have CT scan tomorrow, which I am not much looking forward to.

Brunette10, your DD’s Christmas cross stitch is really beautiful. I also make cross stitch, so I can appreciate the amount of work that has gone into it. So many lovely colours, which of course are even more time consuming. Thank you for sharing the photograph.

Have a good day everyone and good thoughts to gillybob and all who are facing challenges.

Morning all, another beautiful start to the day here in Durham (apologies for boring you with pics every day, but I just love where I live)?
Hope the good weather continues. It is my day with donkeys and llamas tomorrow and the past few weeks I have been wading through mud....... a wee bit of sunshine would be very welcome!
Thinking of gillybobs and hoping Marydoll has not gotten into any more trouble?

conor Tue 03-Dec-19 08:45:29

Good morning from a bright sunny Essex. Still smiling from Marydoll's post yesterday. I hope she is not snowed in today! Supermarket shop this morning and then school volunteering, GS1 school pick up and dinner and then yoga to relax. I hope Gillybobs has more good news(we are waiting!) and everyone has the best day they can sunshinexxx

harrigran Tue 03-Dec-19 08:34:38

Good morning from the NE where it is well above freezing.
A day at home waiting for a delivery and I have a bedroom to empty for a new bed coming tomorrow.
Checked my premium bonds at midnight and found I had four wins, not a fortune but very nice and way more than I make in interest on my bank account.
Thinking of the gillybobs and praying for continued progress, I am sure gilly will be even more busy with DH now awake.

aggie Tue 03-Dec-19 08:32:27

Good morning all , 3 degrees here and thick cloud . Shopping yesterday , but only remembered things when I got home , I forgot my list !
I still have a rotten cold and explosive sneezing sounds so bad with my new hearing aids ..............

Alygran Tue 03-Dec-19 08:29:18

Good morning. Another beautiful sunrise today in North Yorkshire.
Thank you for all the flowers and wishes yesterday. It really buoyed me up. GN at its best. Shopped, walked and spent the day quietly. The Les Mis stage concert screening was brilliant. So pleased I went.
Today I am picking some friends up from Newcastle Airport. They have been to Australia for 3 weeks. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Yiayia4 Tue 03-Dec-19 08:17:17

Morning all, cloud and frost free in Surrey.

A very slow start for me today after a bad night I'm aching and stiff but lots to do will rest later.
Hope we hear from Gilly today.
Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Resurgam123 Tue 03-Dec-19 08:13:00

Good morning All.
No frost this morning here in Cheshire.
I am missing getting out in the garden.
I took several photos of my frozen roses yesterday. There really is nothing much I can do now.
A bit too cold to wander out in the garden in my dressing gown now and inspect the plants
Have a good day.

Good Morning from Bristol its dry and I think cold but no frost on the cars,
Not much on today, a bit of extra house work cleaning the inside of the windows, window cleaner due for the outside.
I hope Mike is enjoying his break away and Marydoll.
I hope Gillybob is ok and we hear some news about her DH today.
Take care everyone.

Morning Beechnut and All.

Thanks for holding the Fort for Mick Beechnut.

Calm cold day in South Bucks.

That picture is lovely Brunette.

We have our WI Christmas Tea today. We always have a good raffle. Also we collect gifts for the women and children in our local refuge. I won’t be having much supper as the Committee always provide an excellent Tea. I’ve got DH sorted with a meal for one from M and S.

Hope Mary’s NY escapades are good and not snowbound.

Love to the Gillybobs. ?

Good morning,

It’s a still, dry morning here in South Yorkshire without frost, though still very cold.

Off to town soon to do a bit of shopping without DH, so I can finish his presents off - just stocking fillers, but it’s nice for him to have a couple of surprises. He knows what his main present is as I asked him to choose it so that he could be sure to have the correct one!

I went to my first Christmas party last night which was very enjoyable (not that I’ve got many more to attend, mind you, and they are day time ones - my party days are few and far between now ?).

Hoping we hear from gilly today and pray that her DH continues on his road to recovery.

I hope, too, that marydoll is having fun in New York without further mishap!

To all unwell, I send my best wishes that you soon feel better.

Take care, everyone.

Morning All

A brilliant sunrise this morning bodes ill for the weather.

We’re off out for lunch today with friends to somewhere we’ve not been before. Stake in the Stix. Not sure what to expect!

Hopefully Gilly has good news and Mary has an uneventful day.

Ginny42 Tue 03-Dec-19 07:48:56

Good morning Beechnut and everyone. Hope you're enjoying Bournemouth Mick if you join us later. Had a lie-in this morning and I feeling drowsy, not a nice sensation.

It's definitely warmer in Cheshire, a tropical 6C which is nice for my trip to meet my sister for lunch and shopping in Knutsford. First a walk in the woods at 9.00 with the neighbours.

Keep putting off writing the cards, but then one from the US arrived yesterday and that was a wake up call to get my skates on. Hope Marydoll isn't skating in the Park, although I wouldn't put it past her!

Much love to Gilly, so hope her DH continued to improve. Warm wishes to dragonfly and others coping with treatment or difficulties.

Have a good day everyone.

Pantglas2 Tue 03-Dec-19 07:47:20

Morning beechnut and thanks for opening up this dark but dry morning from north Wales.

Not a lot planned - bit of sewing, bit of cooking, some pottering, some knitting and I’ve got the new ‘Jack Reacher’ novel to start!

Can’t wait for Marydoll latest episode - she’s the new Joyce Grenfell/Maureen Lipman sent to entertain us!

Some good news from Gillybob would just finish the day nicely wouldn’t it!

Brunette10 Tue 03-Dec-19 07:43:38

Not sure if this has worked!

oldgoat Tue 03-Dec-19 07:41:27

Morning all.
We have a beautiful yellow sunrise this morning in York, and it's not raining!

Still tucked up in bed recovering from yesterday's meet-up in Edinburgh and hoping thatmarydoll is keeping well and having a great time in New York. We missed her yesterday but I helped to keep the tills ringing at TKMaxx in her absence by popping in and buying a nice warm coat to keep out the Scottish cold.
Have a good day everyone and fingers crossed that Mr.Gillybob is on the road to recovery.

mumofmadboys Tue 03-Dec-19 07:38:28

Good morning all. I have got the U3A Christmas lunch today. Hope things continue to steadily improve for the Gillybobs.

NannyJan53 Tue 03-Dec-19 07:37:49

Good Morning from a cold but not icy Black Country.

Had a wander around Lichfield yesterday. I lived there for 20 years so it is always good to go back occasionally. Then onto pick up DGD3 from school and stay with her and her sister till my DS and DIL arrived home from Christmas shopping in Birmingham. Waited for the rush hour traffic to abate, so finally arrived home at 9pm

Today I am off to Birmingham to meet friends for lunch. Not sure if I fancy braving the shops, so probably go straight back home afterwards.

I know what you mean about hairdressers cornergran I have to take my hearing aids out, so cannot even join in with the chit chat smile

Hoping Marydoll is enjoying her trip without too many mishaps! Enjoy your week away in Bournemouth Mick

Special thoughts to gilly and hoping no news is good news.

Brunette10 Tue 03-Dec-19 07:32:20

Good Morning to all from a dark and damp Fife once again. Beechnut - thank you. Hope Mick is having a good time. All went well yesterday with DH at hospital so glad. Off to the west of Scotland today not far from Glasgow to visit Uncle once again who is nearing nearing completion of tiding up my late aunt's possessions, it's very difficult but hope I help a bit today again. I'm sure we will hear from Mary and hope from Gilly too. Have our tree and decorations up, if I can I will try and post picture I have of my absolutely beautiful cross-stitch my DD made a few years ago and it never ceases to bring a tear to my eye each Christmas it gets hung on the wall. Have a good day everyone, take care.
