Comfort food

Grate some cheese on top of buttery mashed potato and pop it under the grill until it is light brown and bubbling. If no time for mash potato just do the cheese on its own and serve with bread and butter.

Vintage cheddar with onion on toast.

Fish finger sandwiches
Red wine with dark chocolate
Jacket potato with grated cheese
Porridge.......the proper stuff, no instant alternatives
Bowl of baked beans with bread and butter
Oh, the list goes on depending on my mood and why I need comforting! ??

A lamb stew, plenty of root vegetables and a dollop of HP sauce with it. Husband hates it so I make it whenever he's away and eat it over 2 days.

Oh, me too, GagaJo - with a slice of cheese! - I do under grill - one side, turn over, put on the marmite and cheese and then second side. For a really huge supper, a small tin of beans on top! Even more yummmmm! Or from chippy Kate & Sydney/Snake & Pygmy Pudding with mushy peas & chips

Bread and milk. Preferrably white bread, soaked in hot milk and covered in sugar. It gorgeous and takes me right back to childhood.
Also, sausage and mash. Stew with dumplings....

Porridge made with water in the microwave. Yummy!

Cheese and eggplant sandwiches

If only! Being a reversed diabetic my comfort food is severely restricted. I have a cake, usually an apple turnover, on a Friday.

An egg - boiled, scrambled, poached - with toast and butter or fried on fried bread. Yummy.

No need to get in touch with Paul O'Grady MawB. I recognise when a dog is unloved and uncared for. Poor Hattie.

Spag bol and a glass of wine for me.

Eating low carb at the moment so have to make do with homemade keto bread which is far inferior to the real thing made by my local village bakery.

I'm having sausage and mash tonight. But I think my favourite comfort food is a hotpot - which I shall be having on Saturday when I come back from the rugby.

Shepherd's pie with pickled red cabbage.

Ham broth with crusty bread.

Or, anything which involves lots of cheese.

Baked potato with LOTS of butter!
