Gillybob, our posts crossed, so pleased to hear that Mr Gillybob is holding his own and there have not been any new setbacks. Here's hoping he carries on getting better, even though it is little by little. And as for laughing - no need to feel guilty, anything that lightens your load can only be a good thing. Take care. x

Another one who is comfortable with ambient temperature of 16° to 18° but always bump it up when the GC are around!
Visiting friends the other night, I found their home uncomfortably warm while they both wore short-sleeves cotton shirts.
Pointing out that they were wasting vast amounts,of energy would not have been appropriate but I was tempted!

Indeed you do Urmstongran indeed you do and a very comforting warm personality.

I’m the complete opposite to you then Gabriella I need several layers and/or a cosy room!

That said, I might have cold hands but I do like to think I’ve a warm heart!

16c is fine for me as I don't like over-warm rooms and Marydoll 's 22-24c would have me in A&E.
I can stand very very hot water and drinks and icy weather conditions wearing just a jumper or even a shirt, as I did one evening last week when on a bus journey to a quiz night.
I was asked where my coat was but I was fine in an ordinary white cotton shirt and khaki chinos.
I've always had self insulating properties, both mental and physical.

Good morning from Shropshire.Late posting this morning as a health condition which I usually manage and control successfully reared it’s ugly head big time so have been at the gp’s for the last hour?he is going to give the problem some thought and call me later.Thank goodness for the NHS and thank goodness for our lovely gp.
We have the school run later and then we are hoping to go to the Christmas lights switch on but will see how I am feeling.DGD is really looking forward to it although last year we didn’t stay long as she was scared of Santa.
Ginny,my mum had a home physio arranged by the gp so could be worth a try.
Marydoll,my husband is very like yours where shopping is concerned but on hearing of your husbands bargain has decided a trip to TKMaxx is on the cards next week when we visit our daughter in Stafford.

We can beat that; 40C/ 104F (that's for your benefit! )' today with a strong blast-furnace- type wind, before a "cool" change this evening dropped the temp. to 20C in half -an-hour!; minimum of 25C last night; fortunately no bushfires near Melbourne, but the rest of the country seems to be on fire after years of severe drought and we have yet to reach summer.

Good morning from a cold grey Cheshire. Had to hotfoot it around to my son's this morning after he phoned to remind me I neeeded to be at his house for 8.00am to wait for the man who was coming to install a new smart meter - I had forgotten all about it! So it should be a relaxing morning for me, but no doubt I will get bored, and end up cleaning and dusting for him! He's invited me around for dinner this evening (he loves cooking) by way of a thankyou; as his dad is away this evening, I would have been eating alone (was just going to get something out of the freezer) but now am looking forward to being waited on for a change!

I was thinking the same Gabriella. 16 degrees seems positively Baltic ! Brrrrrrrrr ?

Good morning from the NE coast.

I have been awake most of the night with terrible heartburn (probably as a result of eating rubbish far too late at night) so running a bit late today. I normally press the buzzer at 10am on the dot, looks like it will be nearer 10.30 today.

Not much change yesterday again. DH is in this kind of twilight world of a little bit awake . Moaning a lot through the speech valves but they assure me he is not in pain as they can detect changes through the heart rate, BP and temperature all of which are monitored constantly through the arterial lines etc .

They are still deliberating over another extubation which will need several experts agreement. If it is not done today then it will be next week as they will not do it on a Friday as they have a very reduced level of doctors available at the weekend.

I am very worried now about the time he has been heavily sedated which I have read makes all the difference between a full mental recovery and not . It’s okay to say we have fixed him physically but at what price?

Anyway I was listening to the nurses chatting about Christmas yesterday . Organising shift patterns. It all seemed very fair with no one doing a whole day and there were more volunteers for night shift than they needed due to the rather attractive financial incentives....they ended up putting names in a hat....guess who pulled the names out ?

I found myself laughing (out loud) at their antics which caught me off guard and I later hated myself for.

How can life go on as normal ? My heart goes out to 2 young men in the unit on either side of my DH . One 39 and the other 37. One with a young family too. How can life be so bloody cruel for some and yet so wonderful for others? I don’t get it?

Anyway enough of my ramblings.

I hope Thursday is a good day for everyone. Marydoll I envied your shopping trip, seems a million miles away . Glad you bagged some good bargains. .

Just a bit of house work this morning for me and then I am going to start my Christmas shopping, DH is coming with me to carry the bags. He just loves shopping if it was up to him no one would get a Christmas card and only presents he would buy are envelopes to put some money in. His saying it should only be for children (Bah Humbug).
Hoping gillybob hubby is still making progress and everyone will ills have a better day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I saw a patch of blue in the sky. Such an indulgent day yesterday I will have to knuckle down today. Making plans for my in-laws 75th wedding anniversary in December and an invasion of family.

My idea of hell is city centre shopping pre Christmas, Marydoll but perhaps I can send you with a list?
I am much happier with Gilly's updates.

Morning all dry here but maybe rain later.
Appointment with my doctor went well,will be seeing a different rheumatologist within 6 weeks and have better pain relievers so feel I'm getting a bit more help.

Breezy cold and grey this morning, but has remained dry. I can feel that nip blowing over the Irish sea when I put my nose outside to let the cats out. We're wide open here to the cold blasts.

After me getting mixed up last Thursday with my INR date, it's definitely this morning so I'm hoping it's steady. If so, I've been managing on a reduced dosage for the past 6 weeks or so and that'll be good if it's the case. Hope so.

I can't imagine Marydoll keeping still for 5 minutes. I have to admire the way she gets around and about, but a pause would be good now and again especially with the angina.

When I spoke to D about my stiff legs, she told me to walk round the block every day,hahaha, yeah ! Sympathy ? Pffft.
Apparently she had to buy a new boiler and had it fitted on Monday so her reason for not having called or phoned. I might just see her today.

I'm finally learning after all these years ( only because the weather's colder ) that I don't need to spend a fortune at Asda every week. Next Tuesday it will be 3 weeks since I was last there and my bank balance is amazing ! Instead of bunging more food in the freezer on top of what I've already got ! I've used up what's there to make meals----how clever is that ? (Rolls eyes ) Each week I've been spending has been enough to last me a month ! Ah well. I just feel shame at having been extravagant. Mince today.

Breakfast now and a quick wash.

Hope everyone remains well now that it's getting colder and good to learn that the Gillybob's aren't now in that black hole they were 7/8 weeks ago. Things can only improve now xx.

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Sunny and frosty in Suffolk. We are off to the Bury St Edmunds Christmas fair today, with lunch in town. It’s a huge affair plus a farmers’ market and I hope for present inspiration!
The car let me down yesterday on the junction right in the middle of the village. Some fencing chaps pushed me out of the way and the AA came remarkably quickly. It was a flat battery but needed replacing not just charging. At least it is done now!

Good morning from a very dull and grey Black Country.

Had a day at home yesterday, ironing, housework and made a lasagne for the freezer. As we were eating our Spag Bol last night I suddenly felt very sick, and couldn't eat any more. Still feel a bit 'off' now.

Partner is working from home today. So I will have to be quiet

Will need to sort out the spare bedroom, as my friend from Lincs is coming to stay tomorrow.. We are going to meet another mutual friend Friday for lunch. This friend has no idea she is coming over, so will be a big surprise for her.

It is always good to find a bargain Marydoll you may find DH will be shopping more in future!
