I think you should do a little bit of reading into the Muslim faith and veganism/vegetarianism

The sarnies are always vegan or veggie as the drivers are Muslim. It's always the same men. I don't give anything with meat or meat flavouring.

We have workmen in next week. There will be tea and coffee and I might get some biscuits. Husband will be in as I plan to take ds out as heating and water are likely to be off, so theyll be lucky to get a drink made!!

It's hard to believe that the OP who only has one loo could possibly be the same incredibly wealthy and successful poster who boasted about giving £50,000 to the Brexit company. It would cost a lot less to install a second loo.

I have no objection at all if anyone working here uses the loo. That must be preferable to being on the receiving end of a sudden shower like ReadyMeals!

I find that people generally remove their shoes/boots without being asked but, if they don't, then I ask them to do so.

I always offer tea and coffee but we rarely have cake or biscuits in the house so nothing else (except for our electrician who's a family friend and always gets a bacon buttie for breakfast when he arrives).

No, it's not a wind up. I really do give couriers a bit of lunch to eat on the go as they usually have no time to stop.
Mine are excellent and have always put parcels in the safe place, nothing damaged and they always knock and say 'You're welcome' when I thank them.

Oh...don't talk about it. Kit hen with tools spread out all over the place, front door wide open making the place freezing.
Holy mess out on the porch and drive from extracting the condenser out of the outside wall.

Told him loo was 'temporarily unavailable and he was ok with that. I decided not to give him lunch money as the mess is unbelievable.

Workman /men

Wow giving food n drink to Hermes or yodel. No I don’t do that ever, mine are gone down our drive in 10 seconds flat, and yes obviously I would let a workman/me. Go to the toilet, I don’t like strangers using the toilet but would never refuse, I certainly wouldn’t give them lunch money what’s that all about, if I did that I think they’d be telling their mates and more would arrive if they thought they would get money, seriously no I’ve never known anyone to give workmen lunch money, ours generally bring their own and eat it in their van, or go to the local costa, as for someone using toilet and not flushing that’s vile

I'm slightly concerned by the perception of some that workmen are of a different species to other people. Is this based on actual past experience I wonder?

What im wondering is- do you have the sarnies for couriers already made/ pre-wrapped ready when you know youre due a delivery/ collection? Or do you always have some in ready for a 'surprise delivery'?.....

Yes,the company director could already be a 'germ-a- phobe,he might not have wanted to touch other peoples loo handles/taps,he maybe uses hand gel? My son has ocd& he does wash hands(constantly) but is wary of facilities in other places than home.he carries antibac wipes in his car.

My worst experience was when having my loft conversion. Scaffolding all around the house, and they went in and out of the loft via the scaffolding for most of the build. One day I was coming out of my front door and warm rain started falling on me. It was one of the builders emptying his pee bucket, aiming for the roof gutter but as the gutter was full of rubble it just went over the top!

My local couriers are (mostly) same ones& know them well enough by now,but wouldnt offer them lunch.

Seems to be a man thing. not flushing the loo - or if it's only pee they may not, to save water!
I see no reason why, when they next come into you house, mentioning that you have put out soap and towels for them to wash their hands and would they please flush after use?
Why oh why would you give them lunch money? The mind boggles! Most workmen either bring their own, go and sit in their van , or go somewhere nearby and pay for their own lunch!
I have on occasion given a cold drink to a courier on a hot day but as they are usually on a very tight time schedule, was told that could give them problems as they'd have to fit in time for a loo stop. In fact one driver told me they had been advised on having a loo stop after one of his colleagues had his van broken into while he was doing just that!
