Having just watched the interview with Emily Maitlis, I just cannot make my mind up about him , I find it strange that he could not recollect having that photo taken with the girl with his arm around him , I thought he was very cautious with his answers, What do you all think ?

Am I the only one who thinks that reaction to this sordid story is getting out of hand? In the national press, I mean, not just on here.
P Andrew is horrid and has some very nasty friends. Has prob done some very stupid things. But who cares a fig about this? The outcry seems to me to be schadenfreude. What he is accused of doing is having sex with a girl of 16 in a country where the age of consent is 17. Bad if he realised that, certainly, but would the world be so outraged if he had been a popular footballer or singer? Also, I've seen no evidence to compare Ms Roberts with the young teenagers of Rotherham and Oxford and somehow feel that the comparison belittles their ordeal.
P. A would be well advised to lead a very quiet life for a very long time. What real need is there to take it further? This country has much more important things to worry about.

of course it's true. Why would that young girl have even been upstairs in Maxwells' apartment in the first place if she hadn't been there for other reasons than domestic staff..? She certainly was no dear friend of Maxwell, much less someone who would be introduced to the Prince, in an upstairs hallway. If she had been she would have been invited to the Palace as a friend of Maxwell as Epstein supposedly was ..as a plus one ..

How could this girl possibly have known PA was at Tramps on a certain night, and the Epstein houses on several dates and the fact there were dinner parties on those dates, if she wasn't there?
if she'd lied about it all, why only 3 occasions..why not go the whole hog and exaggerate it.. as one would if one was pying.

I believe her. She could have said they beat her, or kept her in slave like conditions..she didn't, she said she was used as a sex slave but she was paid by Maxwell..handsomely which is why she stayed. Eventually she ran to Australia and got married, and called Epstein to say she would be returning and was told ''have a nice life''.. nothing more. No threats etc.. 6 years later when Epstein was facing his first investigation and ultimately prison time, he tracked her down, with the aid of some heavies, and warned her to keep her mouth firmly closed, she said she would, and did, and ultimately he only served a short sentence. Goodness knows how many others he threatened in the same manner.

Maxwell needs to be put under the spotlight, she's been keeping her head well down...

The part I struggle to understand is why he felt it was the ‘honourable‘ thing to do to fly out to NY to see JE in person to tell him he was breaking off all contact with him.

WHO on earth would do that?

No they were just getting their stories straight.

This isn’t going away is it?

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 12:41:10

Bluebell did say he had never met her,? he said he doesn’t remember meeting her

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 12:12:46

I dunno Ab. I don't do parties. No idea what goes on.

BlueBelle Mon 18-Nov-19 12:05:59

But he says he’s never met her anniebach whichever establishment the photo was taken in its proof he’s lying surely

Whitewavemark2 Mon 18-Nov-19 11:28:45

I wonder if the young girls are encouraged to take drugs?

Blinko Mon 18-Nov-19 11:21:06

Agree Gonegirl, 18 November, 9:54. Though someone has pointed out that some girls with whom Epstein had been involved were likely to have been under 16.

What do people think goes on in so-called 'Gentlemen's Clubs' here in the UK? Is this any different? And if not, these 'Gentlement's Clubs' should also be called out.

It's pretty horrible stuff wherever it takes place. Unjustifiable, imo.

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 10:59:32

Bluebell it wasn’t the nightclub the girl said she went to with him , she said a nightclub in London.

The photographs are of a party in Saint Tropez

BlueBelle Mon 18-Nov-19 10:53:34

*there was nothing illegal about the party was there?
I think this is losing the point Anniebavh him being at the party is the necessary proof that he’s a liar and if he’s lying about being at the party to cover up his movements then the chances that he knew about the underage sex and the trafficking which he could hardly not know about as he was staying with Epstein in his house with a well known pictures of him seeing young girls out the door almost hiding behind it as he waved them bye bye are we supposed think they d been in to change the towels ?
It’s not proof he took part in this abuse (highly likely he did) but it is proof he knew about it

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 10:48:34

Gonegirl why is it so different to a knees up at any disco/party/nightclub ?

merlotgran Mon 18-Nov-19 10:47:08

I wondered about that too, Callistemon. Andrew is a single man but the girls are close to their mother so maybe Beatrice was embarrassed?

Callistemon Mon 18-Nov-19 10:46:13

No, nothing that we know of Anniebach, but I can't imagine my DD being happy with their father if he was schmaltzing around with young women their age then left with several of them.

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 10:45:36

No Anniebach It's just the way that sort behave. And probably paying £12 plus for each cocktail. hmm

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 10:45:33

Bluebell this about one member of a family not the family

Whitewavemark2 Mon 18-Nov-19 10:44:58

I absolutely agree with this sentiment.

#PrinceAndew is a lying sexual predator and needs to be treated like one. A truly un remarkable human being who has been given every opportunity to be remarkable. How dare you describe yourself as an honourable man. You are the true scum in our society.

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 10:44:18

To be honest, I bet that sort of thing goes on in nightclubs in London and all over the place. Probably harmless. Just the Mail bigging it up again.

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 10:43:24

There was nothing illegal about that party was there ?

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 10:41:40

Alexa I do agree a man of his age should not have had sex with a girl that young, underage or not.

merlot Ooh, he has enjoyed himself in the past hasn't he. Definitely a dirty old-ish man.

Callistemon Mon 18-Nov-19 10:38:35

merlotgran I was feeling sorry for Andrew's daughters until I looked at that article and saw that Beatrice was at the party with him!

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 10:38:02

janipat I'm not answering your post. You obviously have other quite different cases in mind.

BlueBelle Mon 18-Nov-19 10:34:57

Well we can go round and round this for hours I think the majority of people remarking on here see him as duplicitous, and arrogant who was more than likely completely involved with these seedy goings on it’s got absolutely nothing to do with overseas presidents or political figures ours are every bit as corrupt as any others in the world we just have a strange belief that the Brits are above all this
If the Queen believes in his indiscretions in her heart she must be completely distraught especially if he’s the ‘favourite’ I wonder why? He has a sense of self importance that isn’t so noticeable in his siblings
It shouldn’t just go away because he’s Royal family but that has happened since the ‘off with their heads that ll keep them quiet’ regime has been going on for as long as we or any other country has had a royal family or presidential head They have never really had to answer for anything have they ?

Alexa Mon 18-Nov-19 10:29:07

Gonegirl no mature man should have sex with a young girl who is either trafficked or does not know how behaving like a floozie will damage her even in today's 'permissive' world.

Very few young girls are truly streetwise.

merlotgran Mon 18-Nov-19 10:25:59

I don't think it was wise of him to say he never really partied.

It's well known he had a playboy life style. If he'd stuck to admitting it, it would be easier to understand that he maybe didn't think of the 'underage in America' angle but trying to come across as a misunderstood, principled man just doesn't ring true.

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 10:23:26

Did she keep the photograph because she was with a Prince ?
