We went for a pub lunch on one of my birthdays but sadly can’t remember which one, when a yuppy type came in with the first mobile phone I had ever seen.
They were like house bricks if you remember, he flashed it very ostentatiously, the arial was so big it would have had someone’s eye out if they weren’t being watchful.

I saw my first microchip at a party around 1970. The person showing it around said it would revolutionise the world. How we laughed!?

On a post on a Glasgow forum I saw a mention of University Cafe on Byres Road. This was where I saw my first microwave oven. On a holiday to Carnoustie ( 1968) for the Open I saw my first colour television ( Gary Player won it )

Where did you see your first ‘ whatever’?
