anniebach always spells Meghan Markle's name incorrectly - as she does with another person of whom she disapproves, John Mcdonnell. It is very childish.

I quite understand sooziewoozie's exasperation - especially the raising of issues about Meghan's and Harry's conduct (which isn't admirable in every respect but doesn't seem so dreadful to me) in the context of a discussion about Andrew and the current image of the royal family.

If it's any comfort to Anniebach, a famous West Indian cricketer ,Sir Learie Constantine ,was banned from a famous posh London hotel because he was black. Thank God these days at least are behind us!

I am so sad about your experience. As you say that is real racism and it is disgusting.
The way he died is appalling. He sounds like he was a special kind of person too. One who puts first what they believe is the right thing to do rather than looking after himself.

One of the privileges of high rank is great power to be mindful of others . If H and M are going to visit M's mum they do well.

There are so many variations these days I'm surprised teachers can keep up.

Lots of people spell my DGD's names incorrectly too, even relatives who must know!
As for Angharad - how about Anne Harrad? Or "oh, is that Harrod or Howard?"

Racism, what rubbish. I have experienced racism, in a pub in England , with my then black S.A, boyfriend being asked if we would eat our meal in a bsck room not in the dining area.

He was murdered in a prison in Pretoria , he was an Anglican Priest who had been sentenced because he placed his body over a little girl who was being urinated on by white police officers.

Some have no bloody idea what racism is .

How tenuous.
No-one ever spelt my maiden surname correctly and now my married name has to be carefully spelt out to everyone (it's Welsh). As for DD's married surname - no-one can pronounce it.

suziewoozie in your post of Wed 20 Nov 22:23 where you directly addressed Anniebach and told her to shut up about Meghan one remark you accused her of was if only she wasn't mixed race.

I thought I would point out that I have never heard Anniebach make a racist remark, indeed, she mentioned having such remarks made against her and her friend.

Just to set the record straight.

One final thought (for now) people have questioned my behaviour in RL. In RL if there was one mixed race child in a class and the teacher repeatedly spelled the child’s name incorrectly I know what I’d think especially if she spelled all the other white children’s names correctly.
