Our gracious Queen

Sad to read that Harry, Megan and Archie will not be with the royal family for Christmas. The Queen and Prince Phillip are so elderly now, who knows if they will be here next year. It would have been lovely to see photos of the family with the little family included. Sign of the times, when even the royal family are being pulled apart.sad

In my family, everyone, of the close family, were invited to spend Christmas together. Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Mothers, Fathers, all children. In fact all close relatives. A full house. I don't see why the Queen and her extended family should not invite Meghan and her Mum to spend Christmas with them, at Sandringham.
We have been very lucky to have our Queen for so long. I feel sad about what is to follow, although, I feel Charles and William could do a decent job. It is better to have a Queen than President Corbyn or Johnson. We tried a republic once and it was a disaster.
God Save The Queen.

Framilode. So I am not a lone voice ?

Paddington1914 Fri 15-Nov-19 19:34:24

She married into the RF. The D of E is ages old and the Queen a little bit less. There will be plenty of time for other Christmases but for the mo, it should be the big family gathering. They are lucky to have her / it.

I agree with you Anniebach. I think Charles tried to make a go of the marriage but it was doomed from the start. The only version we have is Diana's which has become to seem the authorised version. She was very good at spinning and lying. There were faults on both sides of that marriage, as there are in most. They were both flawed, but the blame for the failed marriage has mostly been put at his door.

.
I did read somewhere that he real reason H&M are suing is because there is a video out there and H wants to make sure it is never seen.
That might be the reason for their very poor timing.
Their moaning about anything while seeing all that poverty and suffering in S Africa was incredibly arrogant.
They have been much easier to attack since then.

Someone said the Queen is working on Xmas day.
Really?what does she do?

Urmstongran Fri 15-Nov-19 18:23:44

I think that HM will be happy to know that Harry is happy. She seems to really like Meghan (cue photos of them giggling together in the summer).

Who cares?

I suppose us, the taxpayers, on one level. (Yes I get your analogy BradfordLass but we feel we are OWED haha!)

In the big sea? It really doesn’t matter.

ReadyMeals Fri 15-Nov-19 17:31:15

My source is the same as anyone's here. Newspapers, biographies, Royal correspondents and commentators etc. If it's all nonsense then so be it, but we're all speaking from the same pool of nonsense. Unless anyone here is brave enough to identify themselves as one of the royal family? :D

This is what the Cambridges have done when babies very young. Queen is happy with it.

Is the Queen happy with it? Wow - you must have some good inside info - do tell how you know that?

Atqui Fri 15-Nov-19 17:26:01

How do you know so much about what goes on Readymeals. ?

trisher Fri 15-Nov-19 17:13:07

This game of "Good Royal v Bad Royal" is so ridiculous. It just keeps real news off the front pages. Who cares where the rich and powerful spend their Christmas? Who cares if a 90 year old woman who is waited on hand and foot gets to see her GGC? As for Charles and Diana apparently even being dead doesn't release you from playing this atupid game!

Anniebach Fri 15-Nov-19 17:05:34

suzie not at all illogical. For years we have heard of the innocent Diana who was so in love with a man who was in love with another woman ?

Only sources are Diana and the press , that is logical ?

Lilyflower Fri 15-Nov-19 17:04:39

“I’ve always though ot very selfish and entitled of the Queen to think she should have first dibs.”

1) She’s the Queen.
2) She will be working on Christmas Day with her red boxes when we are all lazing about watching her pre recorded speech.

Kathy1959 Fri 15-Nov-19 17:00:25

Why does anyone care anyway? Like I said before, none of them amount to much more than trashy celebrities!

ayokunmi1 Fri 15-Nov-19 16:52:09

Good on them

suziewoozie Fri 15-Nov-19 16:51:53

It just keeps getting worse doesn’t it? What an advert this thread us for some of the older female generation.

eazybee Fri 15-Nov-19 16:45:40

I thought Americans celebrated Thanksgiving far more
than Christmas, and as the Sussexes have awarded themselves a six week break it would surely be possible for them, and the new baby, who is surely the star attraction, to spend time with each family.
Clearly they don't want to spend Our First Christmas Together In Our Beautiful New Home.

suziewoozie Fri 15-Nov-19 16:41:07

annie don’t you see the illogicality of your post? And why are you so obsessed with Diana? I think it’s probably true that both D and C were/are very flawed human beings because we all are

Anniebach Fri 15-Nov-19 16:36:28

Really? Many seem to know he was .

No one can possibly know Diana didn’t lie .

Lisagran Fri 15-Nov-19 16:26:16

Charles was not involved with Camilla when he married
No-one can possibly know this for certain?

suziewoozie Fri 15-Nov-19 16:12:03

Bingo again annie

Jennist Fri 15-Nov-19 16:08:12

I felt sickened yesterday, standing behind somebody buying the Daily Mail criticising H and M.
How disgusting to target a young couple in this way! Shameful!
It reminds me of the worst spiteful gossip one always avoids.

By the way I am a Republican, but we should shun gratuitous bad manners and support genuine concerns.

Anniebach Fri 15-Nov-19 16:06:55

Charles was not involved with Camilla when he married. The marriage didn’t work, he had an affair she had numerous affairs.

Some can’t accept there was no man on earth who could fill Diana’s needs.

Oopsminty Fri 15-Nov-19 16:04:18

Didn't Harry tell us all that Meghan's first Christmas with the Royals was so enjoyable? The first one with a 'real family'?

Newatthis Fri 15-Nov-19 16:04:07

I agree with ayse - if the Royals want to do their own thing then let them, just make sure they come of the Civil list so we don't have to finance it!
