Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet outside this morning in Brackley .
Yesterdays Xmas Dinner and Beatles songs do , was good the Hotel is between Coventry and Balsall Common.
There were two other groups, besides the coach trip I was , a U3A group from Coventry ,and what appears to be a singles group called the Valentines Club, based just down the road so to speak at Kidlington.
You had a raffle plus quiz based on the Beatles , fancy dress , theses were done either side of the 3 course lunch.

Morning All

Wet and soggy here again in the north of Norfolk. But at least its only soggy. The poor farmers though can’t get onto the fields to sow which is rather concerning. Bread prices may be up next year.

Off to DGS’s Science cafe this afternoon. When I went to the first one I’d hoped for coffee and biscuits, but no such luck. Tables set out with various ‘experiments’ around the room and children charging enthusiastically from one to the other with parents/grandparents/guardians in tow. Orange and biscuits for the kids, but no coffee and biscuits for us!

(Should we be concerned that there’s no news from Gilly? Vibes of positivity and strength to Gilly and all of you who have a lot to bear at present. Too many to list I’m afraid. It seems the whole world is out of kilter)

Good morning Michael, Annie and all.
It is bright , sunny and chilly here, and I am still in bed with my first cuppa of the day.

Just seen that my DS has had snow in Glos, with huge flakes!

Has anyone seen the new Waitrose Christmas advert? It arrived in my inbox, and I thought it rather sweet .

Best of luck Dragonfly with your appointment.

We need a couple of things today, so a run to the shops is probably on the cards, but I am expecting a delivery from A....n, so you can bet it will decide to arrive before they say.

As ever, thinking of Gillybob and her DH and hoping for good news.
Have a good day one and all.

a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Just a little post to say thank you to everyone for continuing to hold my precious man in your thoughts and prayers. Sadly we are almost 6 weeks in and there is little change. They have reduced the oxygen levels and sedation every so slightly but that’s about it. I live in fear of the visit to “the little room of misery” when they tell me there is nothing more they can do so I am just trying to get through one day at a time .

I am still living a lonely, non life at the moment spending most of my time in the unit and a few hours in “that place” and that’s about it. I am not sure how much longer I can go on trying to kid myself that things will turn out okay, because they probably won’t . I think I have aged 20 years in the last 6 weeks.

That’s about it for now. I can’t see the point of sharing my misery with everyone on a daily basis and effectively ruining this lovely thread. I feel terribly selfish as I know there are plenty others with worries and health problems too sad

And to those enjoying sunshine and happy times.....long may they continue. smile

Thank you all again.

Love Gillybob xx

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

MawB Thu 14-Nov-19 08:51:14

You are not ruining this thread gillybob and I hope you realise the love and support there is for you. I can speak for us all if I say we would only wish we could be of more practical help - a cuppa, a meal, even holding a hand . These shoulders are here for you to lean on - sending you all possible strength flowers

Pantglas2 Thu 14-Nov-19 08:51:41

Thank you gillybob for taking the time to update us - don’t for a minute think you’re ruining the thread by doing so. We need to know because we care and we’re all very aware that life deals some crap sometimes.

Love and hope to you and your family x

GranEd Thu 14-Nov-19 08:55:05

Never feel selfish Gillybob. Don’t think anyone could be more unselfish.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your lovely man.
Hoping for a miracle.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Oh joy! It is raining again in South Yorkshire, and cold. We have nothing much to do today except order GS’s Christmas presents and DH has to have his ears syringed this afternoon.
Gilly how many years have you been adding joy to this thread for us? We are here for you, and all feel for what you have to endure at the moment, and will continue to pray for you and your lovely man. Chin up, Hinny! And stay with us?.

Cherrytree59 Thu 14-Nov-19 09:04:55

Thank you for sending an update Gilly .

I hope and pray every day that you will turn a corner and see a glimmer of hope.

Sending love and hugs, how I wish it could be more ? xxxx

Lisagran Thu 14-Nov-19 09:07:52

Thank you for updating us Gillybob - as others have said, I wish we could offer practical help to you as well as good wishes. A glimmer of hope in that oxygen levels and sedation slightly reduced? When you hold your husband’s hand and talk to him, tell him that lots and lots of GNs are rooting for him. Look after yourself xx

Alygran Thu 14-Nov-19 09:08:03

Good morning from North Yorkshire. After a lovely day yesterday we are back to grey skies.
Gilly thank you for posting. You are very much in everyone’s thoughts and we are all hoping for better news. Take care of yourself.
Lots of gardening done yesterday. Managed to fill up the neighbours’ bins as well as mine before they were emptied.
Coffee with friends this morning then not much else.
Thinking of Dragonfly and those with appointments today and for everyone who needs them flowers

Yiayia4 Thu 14-Nov-19 09:10:50

Sending thoughts and prayers Gillyxx

Good morning from a wet and miserable Bristol.
gillybob thanks for posting you are in all our thoughts.
Not much on today is so wet it would be pointless going out, My thoughts are with all those in flooded areas, I just can not imagine what you are all going through.
Take care everyone.

EllanVannin Thu 14-Nov-19 09:20:08

I feel for you Gillybob, having gone through all that so can appreciate how you're feeling. Don't ever feel that you're " ruining " the thread-----this is what it's all about, a problem shared is a problem halved ! You will feel alone, I did, but because we've come to know you we're all here for you. x

I've been a bloomin' misery myself this week but everyone's so supportive that I begin to tell myself that I'm not on my own here, so keep posting girl we're all here in spirit for you and the amount of vibes that are going out to you should give you the extra strength to cope. x

EllanVannin Thu 14-Nov-19 09:21:57

_______losing my marbles as my INR is next Thursday having just looked on the calendar ( rolls eyes ) I'm all ready and got hyped up too !

Maggiemaybe Thu 14-Nov-19 09:22:02

Good morning all from a wet West Yorkshire. Just heading off for the train and a couple of days with dear friends in what will presumably be a wet, but still lovely, Liverpool.

Holding you and your dear man in my thoughts and prayers, gilly. thanks

Marydoll Thu 14-Nov-19 09:28:02

Thank you for the update Gillybob. I'm sorry there is little improvement. Take care. flowers

Urmstongran Thu 14-Nov-19 09:31:27

Good morning everyone from sunny but windy Malaga. I’ve been trying to post for over an hour but the WiFi signal is weak sometimes. A bit frustrating but hey ho, if that’s all I’ve got to contend with.

Oh gillybob it’s so good to hear from you again, I just wished for better news for you and your family. Maw certainly speaks for all of us.

Just finishing my coffee then I plan to get dressed (well, it’s 10:30am here ... Lazygran!) and we will go downstairs to Juan’s for breakfast. It’s a very popular cafe bar full of locals. If the wind dies down this afternoon we might have a walk into Arroyo de la Miel which is a nice buzzy small town.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. I hope your oncology appointment goes well today dragonfly

JenniferEccles Thu 14-Nov-19 09:35:10

gillybob please don't think for one minute that you are ruining this thread. Nothing could be further from the truth.

On the contrary, folk on here are genuinely concerned about you and look for posts from you on a daily basis.

When several days went by with no news it was quite worrying.

You have said on several occasions how much it helps you to give daily updates on your poor man, so if you could spare a few minutes to do that, rest assured you are ruining nothing.

Wishing you strength gilly

NannyJan53 Thu 14-Nov-19 09:38:10

It is good to hear from you gillybob, I was so hoping for better news. Do not think you are selfish and ruining the thread. We all care about you and we are all here to offer a virtual shoulder and hug. Wish there was more we can do.

Mapleleaf Thu 14-Nov-19 09:49:20

Good morning all,

It's wet and grey here in South Yorkshire, with heavy rain predicted for later in the day which the poor souls affected by the flooding just do not need as the ground is still saturated.

A few indoor jobs to do, plus I must finish a letter I started yesterday and get it into the post.

gillybob thank you for taking the time to update us all. We are all hoping and praying that your DH will turn another corner towards recovery very soon, and also pray that you are looking after yourself in what is a terrible nightmare for you. Please do not think you are being selfish in posting. We are all here for you, sending positive thoughts every day and worry when we don't hear, although do understand if you feel you need to take a break from posting. However, if it helps you to post even a little bit each day, do so. We are your virtual shoulders and only wish we could offer more practical support. We will never tire of hearing from you.

To all attending appointments today, I hope they go well.

Marydoll, enjoy your shopping trip, but take plenty of breaks so you don't over tire yourself.

Take care everyone.

Auntieflo Thu 14-Nov-19 09:53:13

Gillybob. thank you for updating us. We all look for a word or two, when you have the time.
I am so sorry that there is no improvement for your dear DH, and we keep you in our hearts and prayers.
Never, ever, think you are selfish, how could we think such a thing?
Sometimes just writing your thoughts down, can be helpful.
We are all still here, and as has been said, if only there was something, anything, we could do, we would be there like a shot.
If there was, would you let us know?
Love and hugs to you and you family.
