Would it be considered rude of me to ask how old we are? I’m surprised for example to read if a poster is a great grandmother or is ‘going out to work now’.

I’m 65y.
?

I was 65 in July and I was lucky to retire at 55 ,did take a part time job for 2 years then decided I didn't need the money or the getting up at 6 so became a lady of leisure again and don't regret it one bit.

66 and retired when I was 59. Well I retired from my paid job that is, the unpaid ones (childcare and mother support) have me working a fair bit.

I'm 65 and struggling with ever increasing mobility issues, mentally I handle it very well but physically I'm rapidly declining.

gillyknits Mon 11-Nov-19 14:37:52

I'm 60.4. Retired as Deputy Headteacher at 58, joined Gransnet when I was 54 looking for advice and have always appreciated the support that is Gransnet along with the virtual friendship. I don't post often, however I do follow the Good Morning threads avidly. Thankyou all for being there, wherever there is! smile

Riggie Mon 11-Nov-19 14:14:51

Lol. Same as poppyred except sometimes Im about 100!!

Grandma70s Mon 11-Nov-19 14:13:40

Nearly 80. Face is all right and hair still naturally brown, but mobility poor so I think I probably look old as soon as I move.

I have no idea why people lie about their age. I’m quite happy to tell people mine.

NotAGran55 Mon 11-Nov-19 13:56:09

I was 64 in late September. In my head still in my 20’s but my joints tell me a very different story. Still 2 years away from state pension.

Saggi Mon 11-Nov-19 13:51:53

69 in 2 weeks

hicaz46 Mon 11-Nov-19 13:50:38

73 next month, but as with everyone else much younger in my head. It’s only when I walk past a window showing my reflection or because of aches and pains I know I look like my age !

Caro6699 Mon 11-Nov-19 13:48:23
