Would it be considered rude of me to ask how old we are? I’m surprised for example to read if a poster is a great grandmother or is ‘going out to work now’.

I’m 65y.
?

Hi Urmstongran, I feel in my late teens/ early twenties but unfortunately am late 60's.
Ps: I live near Urmston too.

76, with mobility problems, but since my fall on Saturday I feel 96.

Scribbles Mon 11-Nov-19 16:16:07

69 going on 17.

shysal Mon 11-Nov-19 16:14:52

There seem to be many of us in our early 70s
I am 73, but my Brain Training told me yesterday that my brain age is 50. I used to be able to achieve 20 but haven't tried for a while. Must work on it. Unfortunately my body stays the same, but despite RA I am quite fit and well.

There are 8 pages of this and I can't read them all, but never mind I've discovered that Shelagh6 is two years older than me.
And I've got a new boyfriend! He's 83.

63. Still working full time. Have a knee replacement, a gold tooth, and a plastic lens in one eye. OTOH also have long hair which is definitely all my own - though the colour owes something to Mr L'Oréal.

60. Wishing I was 66 !

Twopence and Dorsetcupcake61, we share a birthday (and I know there is at least one other on GN, but I won't out her)! I will be 68 tomorrow, assuming I make it that far. Hope you both have a good day doing whatever you enjoy. flowers wine

Retired from my one remaining seasonal job this year with some mixed feelings.

mrswoo Mon 11-Nov-19 16:05:49

68 and like quite a few others I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. (Actually, I retired last Christmas Eve and am loving the freedom and not having to get up at 6.30 on cold, dark mornings)

Nona4ever Mon 11-Nov-19 15:58:09

When I had a bone density scan a few years ago one of my ankles was 17 and the other 21.
In truth I am 73 - a few years older than both my knees.

heidimargaret Mon 11-Nov-19 15:53:35

I was 70 yesterday. I dreaded my Birthday, that number. My 2 children took me out for a surprise Lunch to my utter joy we arrived at The Ivy in winchester. From then I had a brilliant day and I am now enjoying being 70

52bright Mon 11-Nov-19 15:49:38

67. Definitely don't want to reverse the numbers grin. Retired at 62. Don't know where the last 5 years have gone since retiring. Fit enough but getting lazier by the day. Must make more effort.

Something strange is happening to mirrors lately. When I glance in one I see my mother staring back shock confused

Thank you Glammanana & Urmstongran for a nice welcome
I feel I fit in here nicely . I might just need a little help now & again ,but I know that will be given to me .

TyneAngel Mon 11-Nov-19 15:48:42

78 and okay so far. My MIL said 'Your seventies are a walk in the park, then you hit 80 and fall off a cliff'. Investing in some
stout walking boots and a safety harness......

chickkygran Mon 11-Nov-19 15:47:35

64, good to get there I always say

Laurensnan Mon 11-Nov-19 15:44:36

I'm 58. X

TillyWhiz Mon 11-Nov-19 15:36:24

69 but the birthday is looming in January. Thank you for the laugh at all the confessions causing such a long thread - 7 pages?!

GagaJo Mon 11-Nov-19 15:32:56

54 but because I'm a teacher I feel as if I'm 90 most of the time.

PageTurner Mon 11-Nov-19 15:31:49

I'm 71, but as Pantglas2 mentioned, reversing the numbers is a great idea. 17 reflects my attitude more than 71!

cmwmoonshine Mon 11-Nov-19 15:20:34

I'm one of the youngest at a mere 49 !
My grannie always told me I had an old soul and hit 40 at 16 !

Gothnana Mon 11-Nov-19 15:18:34

47

MrsEggy Mon 11-Nov-19 15:16:06

82 and 1 month. 1937 must have been a good year!

BladeAnnie Mon 11-Nov-19 15:15:08

56 - 57 next week but in the words of Bryan Adams - 18 till I die!!

HiPpyChick57 Mon 11-Nov-19 15:15:04

62 not even a gran. I’m on here because at my age I should be. I’m collecting all the advice for future reference.
Although I think I’ll be far to decrepit for it to count by the time I actually have GC.
My DD is 17 (very late baby) and by the time she’s finished 6th form and then uni I’ll probably be in my 70s before I become a first nan. ??‍♀️
