Argos scam?

I’ve just had a text, supposedly from Argos, congratulating me on winning a £500 gift! It directs me to a website (which of course I’ve ignored) to claim my gift, which I apparently have to do by Sunday. Anybody else had this?

I don't get them by text but by email, there are many doing the rounds at the moment, just delete it and ignore it

As are Tesco and Sainsburys.
I also had one from HMRC apparently I have a £700 tax rebate coming .
Yes delete asap.

Yes, I was very pleased to get one from HMRC telling me I had a £700 tax rebate coming, especially as I am no longer a tax payer!

If you Google 'Argos competition scam' you can see a history of scam attempts.

I've just had a text message offering me a large tax rebate - just click on the link.

The fact that I haven't paid that much tax over the last 15 years seems to have passed them by.

I must delete it asap.

Yes I had the Argos scam. Deleted it, too good to be true!
