Has anyone ever fallen asleep holding something in their hand?

Yup! Most nights! Ranges from food (choc biscuits is a favourite and OMG they make a mess), books, kindle, tablet, sewing, drinks, you name it I've done it!

A mug of coffee while I was sitting on the sofa in the second week after major surgery.
I wasn't even aware that I felt tired until I was rudely awakened by coffee down my legs and soaking into the sofa cushions.
DH yanked me off the sofa and ran for water and cleaning cloths, I crept off to my bedroom and stayed there for the rest of the day as I felt like a naughty child.

Nothing I could type on here ????

Thirsty in the middle of the night I reached out for my glass of water and was wakened up later by a cold shower!

I fell asleep with a mouthful of chewing gum.
When I get out of bed the next morning, my erm, hair was stuck to my leg with it.

Yes, cup of coffee, cell phone, steering wheel, and tongue. Was alone and startled for the first two, scared with the third (pulled over for a power nap) and mildly amused for the last. Debate was so heated that no one noticed I'd stopped participating.

Using my tablet in bed, it hits me on the nose.

My MIL was always falling asleep with a lit cigarette. Numerous burns in her clothes but didn't set light to the house thankfully.

My phone. All the time. Hit me in the face once. Serves me right

DH is always dropping his iPad and then insisting he had not nodded off!

Yes. Mine had gone cold AS97. I take ages to drink a mug of tea anyway.

The first thing my daughter did when she went to dinner at her partner's house for the first time, was spill her cup tea on his new carpet. Still together though.
