I don’t follow any blogs, so my advice would be ‘don’t bother.’

Which me am I today? is Wendy Mitchell's blog - she was diagnosed in her 50s with early onset Alzheimer's. She's still active - and how - does so much for increasing awareness to what can and should be done for those with Alzheimer's . Really inspiring, and not at all depressing.

The best blogs are ones by individuals with an enthusiasm for something. The corporate or commercial blogs can sometimes be quite good but on the whole they're using it solely for enticing you to buy something you don't need.

I think you tend to stumble on them by accident! I follow one posted by an English couple who live in France close to where we regularly go for holidays, that I came across when researching why a particular road was closed. The other one I follow came through searching for a particular crochet pattern. So think of a subject, stick it in a search engine and see what comes up!

Spitalfields Life - about the history and the people of that part of London. I'm not a Londoner, although I did work in the area for a few months,nor do I live in London, there are some amazing interviews with people, and lots to learn about their their lives, and lovely archives to browse

It can be a bit sporadic, depending on how busy he is but I love John Finnemore's blog (he of the wonderful 'Cabin Pressure).

I really like Midlife Chic. It is a fashion blog for over 50, but she showcases mid range clothing like m&S and John Lewis. She also posts about personal life with teens and young adult sons. Nice photography and well written.

I also follow a Victoria BC blog Hostess of the Humble Bungalow. She posts pictures from her home and garden, cottage and sailboat, and some fashion finds.

I follow Mrs Hinch although I don’t know why as I have a cleaner - I think I just like the idea of cleaning more than the actual thing!

Mrs Hynch or is it Hinch will explain how to clean your toilet with vinegar and provide other exciting household tips etc.

Or the Kondo lady, who will tell you how to chuck stuff and embrace your inner minimalism.
