Of course Boris is not an idiot.
The idiots are those who keep on about a second referendum.
The people have voted.
The majority voted for Brexit.

How dare the Remainers imply that we didn’t know what we were voting for ?
How dare they say that “the people” want a referendum?
I know several people who voted Remain who agree that there should not be a second referendum..

If the majority of the Country thought as painting the town red does the Conservative Party would not be doing so well in the polls.

The EU have said they would give extensions. Juncker isn't the be all and end all. Not that Boris intends to take one. As for the Benn Act he has said he would send the letter and then send another hot on its heels saying the previous letter was a formality only.

I think we should all hope and pray that this deal goes through.

I would support a second referendum IF all MPs agreed to abide by the result - no matter what it was. Why do I think they wouldn't do that

THERE WAS A lABOUR GOVERNMENT AFTER THE "BLESSED MARGARET" I dont remember any of those things happening then and I'm not a labour supporter BUT it was a much fairer society !!

Can't stand Boris but then again politics seems to attract flawed, morally suspect men IMO. Some of them turn out to be quite good at their job too.

Yes, a deal has been put forward. I listened to a Labour M.P. banging on about how she would fight against a no deal outcome. The interviewer kept pointing out a deal is on offer, but it was like addressing a brick wall. If they don’t vote for it, they have only themselves to blame when we ‘crash out’.

How can you have 3 degrees? Oh unless maybe you are in the Three Degrees?

Not sure if I’ve got your name right, but I so agree with your post. The strikes, 3 day weeks, rubbish piling up in the streets and bodies unburied owing to the innumerable strikes, high inflation, - yes, the 70’s were a time not to be repeated.
The blessed Margaret saved our country back then. The youngsters advocating a Labour government have no idea whatsoever what it was like.

Luckygirl I agree with your post, if this deal is rejected there cannot be an extension and those MPs who voted to remain will find themselves responsible for the UK leaving the EU on 1/11/2019 without a deal.

Boris Johnson wouldn't have been my choice, but I'd vote for practically anyone over Corbyn and his puppet master.

OK, Teetime, Johnson is not an idiot, but he makes idiotic statements and behaves at times idiotically. He appears to have no moral compass, is acknowledged by those who know him to be a pathological liar and apparently has the concentration span of a five three year old.

Johnson is currently being shored up by a Parliamentary Conservative Party, most of whom don't actually like him, but believe he is the best person not to govern but to help them hold on to their seats.

So who is a credible alternative? IMO, someone, anyone, even if I don't totally agree with their policies would be better. Let's face it, whoever wins the general election when it comes is still, despite what some Brexit supporters think, going to have to spend most of their time, effort and the country's resources in sorting out the deep mess we will be in.

So, holding our noses if necessary, let's vote for someone who is a little more trustworthy than our current PM and who could command more respect on the international stage.

I am deeply disturbed by the country being led by someone who is openly immoral and dishonest. This is a man who was sacked from his journalist post for making things up, and who has cheated on several women.

I do not think he will get his deal (whatever it turns out to be) through parliament, as he is being held to ransom by the DUP. EU have said no further extension, so Benn Act is down the pan, So....out with no deal and along will come a GE - and heaven help us if he and his cronies get voted in.

It is akin to Trump in that regard - a known liar and cheat who gets the popular vote. At least he does not seem quite as overtly insane as Trump with his pitiful delusions of grandeur and infallibility.

But why? Do you really want us to crash out without a deal? It would be disastrous for future relations with Europe.

I dont think you can label someone an idiot because you dont agree with them. Boris (who is not my cup of tea politically) is far from an idiot intellectually.

He's better than any alternatives I can think of right now.

He won't resign, he's too thick skinned and has wanted to be PM for years.
Could be wrong though, I wouldn't bet on it.
