We have had the odd one or two on GN boasting about their academic qualifications, have we not with the emphasis on “odd” I suppose some people might think that being Grans we did not have access to education in the olden days, but sat in the corner perfecting our crochet and knitting Shreddies.
We are also dutifully tugging our forelocks at someone who claims to have been “around “ in political circles. Is that “round and round “ like a headless chicken or claiming to share the attributes of our present day politicians. I would keep very quiet if I were in that situation.
However i have to say that it took until not that many years ago for me to realise that “twat” was not merely a synonym for “twit” or “twerp” so I do not immediately react to the word in the way some do - or even possibly in the way it was intended.

Hi Three Degrees, you've been gone a while I guess you're having an extra long chat with your milkman. I was going to post "when will I see you again" but I'm just going to humm it instead and hope that it has an osmosis like effect in luring you back, cos we need all the towering intellects we can muster over here feeble minded older people that we are 
Well welcome to GN, I see from your post your daughter is only 14, a tad early to make you a grandmother, but hey we're not judgey on GN no way, too thick for that! well I speak for myself I haven't even got 1 degree I did get a certificate once for "best kept stick insect" but somehow it didn't seem to cut it on my cv. I remember being interviewed for one position back in the day when my prospective boss casting his eye over my academic accomplishments (meagre) and feeling the need to big myself up, I mentioned aforesaid "best kept" certificate, "irrelevant" he snorted, "irrelevant to you maybe mate, but life and death to the stick insect" was my riposte. Happily in spite of my out and out impertinence he hired me as his PA.
Anyway, moving on, how lucky you are having a friendly milkman to attest your age, it's a great help isn't it when we can rely on someone else to tell us how old we are. Quite honestly I can't remember whether I'm 41, 65, or 93 today, I put it down to menopausal mind fog. Sadly my relationship with my milkman fizzled out many years ago now, apropos of disagreements about the monthly milk bill, discrepancies over cancelled milk. A simple breakdown in communication and strangely our relationship didn't meander into him telling me how old I was, I guess I was just giving out the wrong vibes although if I remember rightly I was still pretty in tune with how old I was then so probably didn't need his help on that score just for him to keep an accurate tally of our milk consumption. Of course it's fair to say all milkmen can't be judged by my experiences. Incidentally shouldn't we be referring to them as "milk persons" I'm thinking, milkman/men is a bit too gender specific, and not very inclusive. By the the way I was always very supportive of the #"Milkmen Milk Persons Have Voices Too movement, is that anything to do with you? Awesomely the founder member "Ernie" aka "The Fastest Milkman In The West" lived very near to me, yeah how great is that
Talking of "Fastest Milkman of The West" dontcha just love the west, I do it's well good and I love, the south, the north, the far north, beyond Watford that is, the east, the far east, the south east, the south west, the north west, the north east, the south west, the east west, The North Sea, The South China Sea, The North Pole, The South Pole all rockin' it.
Moving on to your 3 Degrees, how awesome is that, I'm all of a tremble in the company of anyone with a degree, it's bare good innit and it don't matter to me what it's in "David Beckham Studies" "Nail Extension Studies" "Knitting" I mean any of them has as much value as say "Classics" from Balliol, where's that likely to get you??? Prime Minister maybe! but not a lot of good if you're a twat!
