I feel Boris Johnson can't orgainise his way out of a paper bag and all the people I know think the same

re the question about how they become MP's I did read that Gove was pushed along into it by another Tory...was it Cameron?
Gove was then like his wife a journalist and is now one of our "fav" MP's.

I believe the Tory party go and recruit those they can mould in their own image.
Not sure if true, not sure about the other parties

Agree with LullyDully who on earth is the alternative!!! And if he gets Brexit done I'll be well pleased. We need to move on from this, the last 3 years just show that politicians don't listen to the people unless it suits them.

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 11:28:07

Don't most people groan when they hear the name Gove?

Boris Johnson is NOT an idiot.

Look the word up in a dictionary and you might learn something.

And to answer your question, no he should not resign.

I think GrannieMigs posted what most of us are thinking.

TerriBull
I was one of those who was well and truely castigated for using 'that' word. The reason being that where I live (south east) to pronounce the a as in cat is fine, but to change the a to an o is offensive.

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:09:37

As an aside, that T word is a complete no no here

trisher Fri 18-Oct-19 12:10:13

Boris isn't an idiot. He is unfortunately a conniving, unprincipled liar who realised after appearing on HIGNFY that he could attract more support by playing to the gallery and behaving like an idiot whilst surreptitiously introducing as much right wing policy as he was able.As for this idea that he has somehow managed a deal. It's a worse deal than any of TMs, it breaches the Good Friday agreement and it won't get through.

I have just realised where the word tw-- is in this thread. It's in the title.

Reporting that. Diabolical!

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 12:13:07

Agree Minty! I've reported it.

trisher Fri 18-Oct-19 12:16:45

Oh come on it's just a word! Crying to teacher really isn't on.

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 12:17:31

No it isn't just a word. It's demeaning to women.

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 12:18:34

I'm not crying to any teacher. Just reporting a thread title containing a word that I believe to be beyond the pale.

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:21:00

It's a shocking word really. And I don't take offence readily

Just surprised it's allowed.

Fennel Fri 18-Oct-19 12:27:25

Well I didn't know what it meant until recently. Thought it was just a silly person.
Very sheltered upbringing.
Except I did know the word that Pepys uses in his diaries for the same thing.

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:29:38

I was the same Fennel. Until I said it infront of my husband when we were courting. He looked at me in horror.

I'd thought it was similar to twit

Gonegirl Fri 18-Oct-19 12:31:22

trisher would you accept the 'c' word?

CraftyGranny Fri 18-Oct-19 12:43:03

Gonegirl - I agree with you

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:44:48

Exactly, GG. The T word is the C word.

I don't think that many people realise this

Urban Dictionary might help

trisher Fri 18-Oct-19 12:45:49

Yes why not? What is this obsession with slang names for the genitalia being regarded with shock and terror. It's a relic of the Victorian age and it is unnecessary. It's just a word.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 18-Oct-19 12:46:10

Actually it is simply in the eye of the beholder.

The OP is using the word as simply of a description of an unpleasant or indeed obnoxious person.

There are two meanings of the word.

1. As a woman’s genitalia

2. Stupid or obnoxious person.

It would not have occurred to me that the OP meant it as anything other as a stupid person.

Raise your sights.

CraftyGranny Fri 18-Oct-19 12:48:15

Gonegirl - Sorry, I meant to your earlier comment "where do you people get these ideas"

also That T word was unnecessary

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:50:09

So do you ladies use that word on a day to day basis?

Really?

Oopsminty Fri 18-Oct-19 12:54:35

And how would you feel if your grandchildren used it to refer to someone they found stupid?

Because they would know full well the impact of the word.

Loislovesstewie Fri 18-Oct-19 12:57:20

Yes he is a complete twat. I don't understand anyone voting for him neither do I understand why any woman would want to get into bed with him, or any other place for that matter. I consider him to be a complete buffoon. And I am not taken in by all of the bonhomie either.

harrigran Fri 18-Oct-19 13:01:19

No I do not think the same way as you painting and find you post offensive.
Three degrees and living abroad does not make you qualified to condemn the man.
