Sorry people I am 46 years of age and have been around in political circles.
I am a mother of a fourteen year old. I have three university degrees and have lived abroad for quite some time
I feel Boris Johnson can't orgainise his way out of a paper bag and all the people I know think the same
that is my milkman, my postman the people at the local shop the people at my local school.
I honestly am not being paid for saying this, but can we all come out and say...the guy needs to go,,,asap
What's wrong with Ovaltine?
Dinah - Yeah loved The Commitments, what a voice that singer had, shame he sank without a trace
Thanks Dinah
Gonegirl - Yes they've banned Marmite in Canada, along with Irn Irn-Bru and Ovaltine, well that was in 2014, I don't know whether things have changed. I was there back in 2008 secure in the knowledge that Marmite was freely available then, but if I'd gone after it went hardline, post 2014 well it might have ruined my stay
I do like Marmite, unlike my husband who does regard it as food of the Devil, I remember we were picking one of our kids up from a children's party years ago and the parent host said "dive in and have a sandwich" from what was left, my husband did just that, first bite ............"aaaaah it's Marmite" he wailed, he's never recovered. Perhaps Canada is right!
Anway apologies for the digression back to Boris and twats sorry, I mean *
Terribull I've just read this thread so thanks for all your comments. They certainly cheered me up as I take a break from completing a VAT return.
I'm amazed at anybody not knowing the Drifters but I do have some friends who only discovered 60's Soul Tamla Motown etc when they saw the film The Commitments. Your ACs have excellent taste in music.
Have they really banned Marmite in Canada?!
He will never resign, too full of himself, obstinate, goes his own way, and just about does what the law says,if he can get around the law he does.
The EU must be fed up with him,I know most of us are.
As someone said an "English Trump"
Just to remind people - the Three Day week was under Heath's government.
Thanks 8Terribull* - a laugh out loud moment! I just have to say that BJ is far from an idiot - it does depend how you choose to qualify that. He is a polymath and has a first class brain. He also seems unfazed, won't be bullied, and is determined, against all odds, to do what the British public voted for, democratically. Does that make him an idiot? These are 'facts' - as David Brent might say - and I will now duck behind the parapet. Before I do that may I just add that as long as this bloody Brexit fiasco is sorted by the end of the month I am past caring what happens. - we British will get along somehow with whatever the outcome is, as we always have, resourceful and unbowed.
Sorry stated not sated!
BlueBelle, you have sated my thoughts precisely .
^You have to laugh don’t you when the words you utter apparently instantly identify you as supporting one argument or the other gringringrin
Couldn't make it up!^
It wouldnt take a brain of Britian to work out what side I support. I have not made a secret of it anywhere here. However, my experience of GN is that it is heavily remain biased and most of the personal insults I have experienced and most of the insulting words are used by them.
It was a good possibility that this would be the same. An assumption I acknowledge. But I was not wrong was I? ( I have read through) .
Twat = meaning
A stupid or obnoxious person
Precisely! I do not see the wrod as one which is a swear word but simply do not find it acceptable for anyone to call another stupid or obnoxious as a personal insult. What is really meant is that someone ( the OP) does not agree with his views .
There is far too much use of insulting words these days.
He might be well educated but knowing Latin and fine art doesn’t make you sensible or clever ‘Educated’ is very different from having vision, ethics, integrity and fairness, all the politicians are well educated but many of them are definitely idiots and he’s one He’s a liar he was fired from at least two jobs for making up stories for the newspapers, he’s self possessed, a fornicator, with children he won’t acknowledge, (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree have you seen the idiotic old Johnson sidling along on all the reality shows with a girl young enough to be his granddaughter ) he sees himself as a man of the people, what people? he’s so shifty he can never answer a straight question
And to the poster than pulled up the old adage ‘ it was the will of the people’ 17,500,000 out of 66,000,000 really, my country is going to be ruined for decades by the will of 17,500,000
It was a defunct referendum it was non binding it was badly worded and no one had a clue about hard or soft borders or the killing dead of the Northern Ireland peace treaty that had been years in the making
It’s a total tragedy and we are the laughing stock of the world and with that bumbling idiot at the helm will continue to be
Tories are divided, labour are divided the country is divided it’s killed this country as dead as a machine gun would Civil war could be close
The word has been asterisked I see.
Any chance that the original discussion might resume?
BJ's strengths (none) and weaknesses (many)?
"I'm just wondering how many grans have exposed this thread to the scrutiny of their grandkids"
I mean just why would you? I also don't remember my kids at 14 being remotely interested in anything I was up to, maybe they were just self obsessed little prats or possibly they had too much going on in their own lives to be remotely aware of what their mum was typing away on her laptop, who knows!
To the poster who is of the opinion that BercowMarmite is good for us, I think the jury is out on that, insomuch as there is poison in what is essentially a small entity, and the Marmite isn't good either
high, salt content
Canada actually banned it, down to ingredients that were seemingly unacceptable and we know what trailblazers they are in all that is woke, they know food of the Devil when they see it!
Painting the town red. It is a pity you had to use the language you did, perhaps those of you that can only express themselves by swearing should start your own forum. I for one see this as a pathetic development. Is it meant to shock? It explains the the way done if the youngsters throw swearing around.
Gone girl, your foul post on Saturday, says everything about you really. You obviously throw the f word about to make a point, good or bad, straight away it invalidates whatever you say.
This is the “evil EU” he wants us out of, of course.
We are living in a parallel universe Whitewave or possibly a nightmare. Take your pick.
The really weird thing over the weekend is that Johnson has now asked the evil EU to support him against the U.K. sovereign parliament.
Difficult to make that up isn’t it?
I have tried very hard to teach my child to be polite and to express herself appropriately without recourse to such words as those often used by ..... let me be honest here..... remainers
You have to laugh don’t you when the words you utter apparently instantly identify you as supporting one argument or the other

Couldn't make it up!
Well yes, let's be honest aprilrose. So many millions of words have been uttered in the last three years about the situation we now find ourselves in, and yet you happen to know that it was mostly remainers who use the word under discussion? How can you possibly know that?
That comment ruined your otherwise good post.
Twat = meaning
A stupid or obnoxious person.
That is what the OP took it to mean
How did you read it?
Tom Brake MP ?
@thomasbrake
·
3h
Playground stuff from a petulant
@BorisJohnson
.
His decision to send an unsigned photocopy of the extension letter he is required, by Parliament, to send will see him back in court tomorrow.
His contempt of court and Parliament and unlawful prorogation make him unfit to be PM.
aprilrose I don't like children using swear words, but adults if they wish to are perfectly entitled to do so. I respect those who choose not to swear, and I wouldn't dream of asking them to do it but if someone thinks only swearing will do I don't see why you or anyone else should expect them to change their language.
