Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry outside here in Brackley this morning, my usual bus trips to Buckingham and Bicester vice versa .
A couple of coffee's maybe a beer ,shop in Bicester , and return to Buckingham to a favourite café in meadow Walk, for a coffee before I wait around for the bus at the Bus stop near the old Jail or Gaol in Buckingham .

Been away all weekend so only just found out about your DH Gilly. So sorry and thinking of you.x

dragonfly46 Tue 15-Oct-19 08:35:37

Lins and Sar I hope your results are good today and you come out smiling.

dragonfly46 Tue 15-Oct-19 08:37:51

Ellan it is true it is always good to offload things on here. I hope your DGD can get the help she needs and things go better for her. It is always a worry where family are concerned.

EllanVannin Tue 15-Oct-19 08:44:09

My insides are doing somersaults dragonfly. You do worry about the family, constantly.

Resurgam123 Tue 15-Oct-19 08:51:00

Good Morning all. It is just very grey outside. Most miserable.
Last nights choir was really dreadful. I have a recurrent cough.

Added to that the music is dreadful.
It is Christmas very soon and we are not getting the lovely Christmas music we usually have.
The choir numbers have gone down. Maybe to coughs and colds. Or not finding the experience enjoyable.
Our lovely standard Christmas stuff has gone.
I wonder what about "us" we are paying our choir subs .
I would love to get a vote on what others w really think of this conductors choice.
Sorry for my rant.
I can't really say a lot.

Good morning from Colchester where it is finally dry!
Sending hugs to Gillybob, EllanV and all who need one.

Good morning from east London, dull but dry. At least it stayed dry long enough for us to play tennis yesterday. Have to do some shopping this morning; DP had to raid DD’s fridge yesterday to make his salad. Will be heading for Walthamstow later to collect train ticket for DD and return my nearly overdue books to the library. Looking at several years worth of digital photos later to order some (masses of) prints as DP has an pre paid account for this which is about to expire. Treat of the day is lunch with an old friend; we first met when he was a tutor on my teacher training course for yoga which was before I had children. He is bringing me some lovely smoked chilli cheddar which DP and I normally fight over as to who’s had the most. Hope your day brings you whatever you need.

Good morning everyone from Oldham where it is dry and mild. My aunt is still sleeping. She will call down when she is ready for her cuppa. She doesn’t eat breakfast, never has apparently. That probably why she enjoys a cooked lunch soon after midday!

Oh dear ladies what can I say? So many of you have worries today - I feel for you all today and fingers crossed that the old saying ‘a trouble shared ..’ and all that, really does halve your anxieties. I remember reading once that 9 times out of 10 our worst fears never happen.
?

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or (like me) none.

Mapleleaf Tue 15-Oct-19 09:36:23

Good morning,

It's damp, cool but brighter here this morning.

gillybob, I'm so sorry to hear of your worries about your DH and send big hugs and ?. I do hope your family are supporting you.

Lins1066 ? for you, too. I hope you hear good news.

?to all others who have posted today with worries, feeling ill or scared. Remember we are here.

I'm not sure what I will be doing today, but hope to see my friend later if she's free for coffee. I need to get myself motivated a bit at the moment, these days when DH is working away can seem very long, though I don't admit that to him as he would worry. I need to fill my time a bit better at the moment. The trouble is once the dark, dismal days and evenings come, I seem to lose a bit of my mojo. Oh well, things will settle. I think I've got a bit of the winter time doldrums!

Resurgam, I'm sorry to read how disheartened you are with the choir. Do your fellow choristers feel likewise? If so, could you let the choirmaster know how you all feel about the way it's going? If that's not possible, perhaps it might be time to look for a different choir to join if there's any more nearby.

Take care all. ?

Marydoll Tue 15-Oct-19 09:36:33

I second that EllenVanin.
I am overwhelmed by the support I have received from my online friends.
I'm usually very upbeat in the face of adversity, but recently have been very low.
Posting on this thread has been cathartic, as I don't want to burden my children.
Reading of others' struggles makes me realise that there are people much worse than me.
Lazurus shall rise again.
Thank you all, my dear friends.

Auntieflo Tue 15-Oct-19 09:40:41

Morning Michael, Annie and all.
Gillybob so glad to hear from you, but also worried about your DH. I hope that he can manage the treatment, and that it brings him relief. What an awful few days you have had, but we are all hoping and praying for his recovery. I'm sure your staff at "That Place" will be able to cope.
Marydoll, lets hope the effects of your new meds soon wear off, and that you can soon get back to being you.
There are a lot of GN's with health problems, but luckily we can off load here and get a sympathetic ear.
To all of you, take care and have a peaceful, happy day.

Greyduster Tue 15-Oct-19 09:41:55

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A late one for me following a broken night and much tossing and turning. The day is dry so far. Poor DH managed to loosen one if his teeth yesterday on a rogue piece of muesli, so he has a appointment with the dentist and an eye test to fill his day. Our other dentist used to say that muesli and granary bread were the dentist’s best friend!
Gilly I am keeping everything crossed for your DH’s recovery ?. To all who are struggling, I wish you strength.

Urmstongran Tue 15-Oct-19 09:58:46

That comment about what your dentist said made me laugh Greyduster is I had to let you know!

Isn’t the GM thread just one of the absolute best here on GN? Three cheers for you Mick.

My husband has just FaceTime’d from north of the border. They are all having a wonderful (whiskey themed) time! Went over to Skye yesterday and visited TWO distilleries and today they are off across to Dingwall - my father wants to call in at his solicitor there and then there is another distillery in the area ....

Good morning all! Aberdeenshire is wreathed in sea haar, I have a new car and yesterday I had a CT scan to see what's going on inside...has all the chemo been worth it?

Have a good day all.

Hello Gransnettters from damp misty Godalming, 16 degrees and getting cooler as the day progresses.
My! I did 20 mins of 2kg hand weight exercises after my run earlier and they don't half puff you out (as they're supposed to) but definitely make you feel energised and full of good intentions. I do another set in late afternoon and keep to the 2 day fasting which is tomorrow and Thursday.
The more you see and feel the results the more you're inclined to stick at it. My biceps are def much harder and midriff slightly more defined.
Anyway, get showered n changed then town to buy a new phone as this one is the pits. Then M&S to collect 2 prs new boots, bought on Sunday with a 20% discount code offered by a very kind lady on here. [blush
Yesterday, my own discount codes came in the post (I never know when they're going to arrive) so if anyone would like 20% off clothes/shoes/beauty/homeware, do PM me and I'll send codes to your inbox.
They have to be used between 17th - 21st Oct.
In store can be used multiple times.
Online are single use only (one per transaction)
Right, that's me done. Tomorrow I'll be using my new Samsung A70 or Zeus 6... hurrah :-)
Take care and keep warm
flowers + cupcake for those GNers not feeling too good and get well soon. smile
Happy shopping.

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Misty moisty morning here with beautiful autumn colours. There was a Hunter's moon last night.
All OK here at present, so far. My visitor has gone out for the day to see her family. I have heaps to do here.

So sorry to hear about Gilly's DH and hope he pulls through. It's an agonising time for you. Sending hugs and prayers.

Marydoll get back to bed! I hope you have a chance to read and rest.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 15-Oct-19 10:23:25

GabriellaG54 My discount codes arrived yesterday morning and as I have to start my Christmas Shopping early this year I was immensely pleased........Off to Lakeside (Essex not the one near you) for some serious shopping on Thursday.

Good morning. I am looking forward to the launch of XR Grandparents at Buckingham Palace at 4.30pm -- 6.oopm today. Grandparents caring about the survival of our loved ones. This is an emergency.

GabriellaG54 Tue 15-Oct-19 10:59:18

Tosh...to the above comment.

Cherrytree59 Tue 15-Oct-19 10:59:37

Good morning from a grey Market Harborough area. The fields in the Welland valley are flooded after all that rain. I just want to see the sun. Going to the shops this afternoon and making a shepherds pie. Good old fashioned comfort food as I hate these dark days when I am trying hard to fight this depression.

giulia Tue 15-Oct-19 11:21:02

Good morning everyone, even if it's nearly lunchtime.

For all of you who are feeling down for various reasons, I recommend you click onto the thread here "Somebody did something very kind for me today" and read the whole thread! (If you're not doing so already!)

It's really heartwarming and will make you smile!

CaroleAnne Tue 15-Oct-19 11:36:14

Dear Gillybob.
I just want you to know that I am thinking about you and hope that your husband will be stabilised soon. It must be so worrying for you.
You give so much to others on this site and now it is your turn to receive
support.
Hope that you have better news soon.
Sending hugs and thoughts to you.
Carole.
