Today, some cushion covers I bought and have never used.
The land is dry, and the people are ...stupid?

I am today making a pledge to throw something I don't want or need away or give to charity every single day from today until Xmas Day. I know I hoard too many thing.
Yesterday I threw away 26 folders of degree notes and teaching file notes. I have been retired two years now so do not need them anymore.
Today I have been looking in my wardrobe and found a blu ray player box that has been there for 3 years. I know it is shameful.
Will anyone join me in a pre Xmas de-clutter and try to throw something away, even if something small every day?
Today, some cushion covers I bought and have never used.
When my stepmum died and we had to clear her house quickly, we found a pile of about a dozen big jigsaws in boxes. We had no time to count the pieces and didn't think a charity shop would want them as we couldn't say they were complete. So I reluctantly put the whole lot into the papaer/cardboard recycling sack and put them out by the gate. I was delighted to find them gone within an hour or two - some passer-by was happy to have them and I was pleased to think they were being reused.
My latest project is sorting out the grandchildren's jigsaws with pieces missing to throw out. I hope the council will take them as cardboard.
I've slowed here as I'm decorating, amongst other things.
I have a carrier bag that's slowly filling up though.
2 candle holders, a photo frame thingy, 2 pairs of football boots.
I’m afraid I didn’t do very well last week, too many small houseguests, but I intend to start again tomorrow, you are all inspiring me!
I have now disposed of two items from my garage via Facebook Messanger and have an extra £30 in my purse, and tomorrow someone is coming to take away (for free) a part roll of most insulation that was sitting around. I have also sold a brand new scarf on eBay.
Callistemon
and Juno, well done.
I began on our bookshelves, really to find something to read and turned up my lost library book! I'd already paid for a replacement but I'll pop in tomorrow and see if they want it back You always find treasure when you tidy up.
It was such foul weather today, I got the bus into town and went to the museum. I resisted the charity shops but managed to not resist the museum shop and bought bargains for my presents drawer/cupboard for the DGC.
I am really cross with myself for missing the bin lorry today so my full to bursting wheelie bin will have to wait another fortnight!
I was going to go through the kitchen cupboards and start to ruthlessly throw out anything not useful but was saved by the bell
The doorbell - unexpected visitors which was lovely.
Three dvds in the charity bag and a large old pillar candle that can't be lit anymore in the bin.
Oh I love a bargain! Not especially clothes though, just knicknacks and clutter.
MissA what a result. I have never made money on Ebay. I bought a nice woollen coat a few weeks ago on Ebay (whoops - I know, I know) and couldn't believe I'd won the bidding until I realised mine was the only bid and the zip was broken. However, I have had it repaired and wore it today.
Um, the pile has handbags in it, not the purse.
You know what I'm trying (badly) to say.
I sold my purse on eBay.
It cost me £2 a few years ago, and it sold for £13, so I'm quite chuffed with that.
Now that's gone, I'm using one that was knocking around amongst the charity pile, which has handbags in it.
That sounds excellent Patsy70. I wish our Council would catch up with yours. We have the stupidest "recycling " centre where you have to have a car - no pedestrians allowed incase they get run over? and you are not allowed to remove anything from a skip.
There is nowhere for old textiles and I have seen the operatives flinging things like glass, into the landfill skip when it should have been in a glass one.
Meanwhile back here. Hmm . It is bucket/bin day tomorrow landfill and that one is full to overflowing. A lot is bags of dirty sawdust from sanding the floor.
My charity bag at the back door is getting filled up and I resisted temptation today at the craft exhibition. I bought nothing and ate a lot of cake!
How is everyone else getting on?
Our local council has just introduced a recycling system for linens, fortnightly, which is a great opportunity to reduce the bed linen I've been hoarding, and also small electrical items! This saves a trip to the recycling centre. I volunteer at a charity shop, so am also able to dispose of my no longer wanted clothes! I've got no excuse, but I've still got a long way to go.
I sell small items on eBay but have recently discovered that Facebook Marketplace is a good (and free!) way of selling or giving away larger items. It's very easy to list things, and people will come and collect them.
A computer keyboard will go to an organisation that recycles old electronic items and a folder of old payslips from a company I no longer work for waiting to be shredded and put in recycling bin.
Grammaretto Some of our charity shops sell curtains so mine will go there. They are not very special but they are in excellent condition being hardly used as they are floral and lightweight and we are gradually changing over to blinds.
Today I will round up old specs.I have at least three pairs and others in the family will have some too.I will take them to Boots, the Library or the Opticians.
Another bag of books gone to charity today.
I was going to throw away two postcards, bought on bleak days out in Brighton, at a not very happy time.
Grandson asked to keep them, then I was turning out a cupboard looking for something else, and found two quaint little wooden picture frames.
Ideal for the postcards to go into, and I'm excited to be able to put the frames to use, as I haven't as yet. (25p the two, from a charity shop)
Could you sell them on eBay?
You may or may not get much, but you'll know they're going to a good home.
You helped me with shoes but what do you do with old curtains?
Greenfinch ?
I have 2 sets which are designer curtains from Heals bought by DM in 1960s. I'm not specially attached to them but should I try to find an appreciative home?
I didn't part with anything today.
Looking for a white pillowslip for granddaughter's trick and treat,I decided to turn out the linen cupboard and got rid of five pairs of curtains, and some juvenile duvet covers and pillowslips.
Since I last posted I have put several more books in charity bag. A pile of old English Heritage, NAS and U3A magazines are going in recycling bag. I offered them to my doctors' surgery but they refused (germs I suppose).
Oh, you lucky thing!
All the way to the charity shops laden with bags, I tell myself I'm not doing this anymore. Been doing it for years!
Charity bags got collected and they took a lot of books I had sorted out too. So no having to lug them to town.
