Siamese silver is often called niello ware. It is still available , mostly online. I bought myself some niello earring a couple of years ago. They are decorated with images of the lightning goddess as lots were in the 60s /70s. I've just googled niello and a huge amount of jewellery is still available , you might even find an ankh!

Before I get inundated with comments, I know Wayfair market the style of bean slicer that I described BUT it's plastic, something that I try to avoid buying, and I doubt it would last anywhere near as long as Mums! Just can't get the quality these days.

An ankh is like a cross but with a loop at the top. It's an ancient symbol of life.

I didn’t know either kitty so I googled and it said it was an Egyptian hieroglyphic life symbol.

My Mum had a runner bean slicer. It had a little hopper in the top, a sucker on the bottom to secure to a work surface and you turned a handle on the side. Whole beans were put into the hopper and came out of the machine sliced perfectly. Can't find one now, only those that look like veggie peeler which are worse than useless!

All our homegrown runner beans are therefore sliced by hand!
