Lets take the plebs minds off the mess the government sin and get Lizzies name out the frame ...A WEDDING .The fools will love that and they'll be so delighted they'll forget about everything else ...even the cost of it .
REALLY!! is England so gullible ?

Would I want my family to get involved with the royals, no way, who in their tight mind would want to live in a goldfish bowl. They obviously live in luxury, but that is completely ruined because they are all relentlessly pursued by the media. Every move, expression, appearance or non appearance, or dress is analyzed a torn to pieces, Meghan I’m sure is now regretting getting involved.

However Harry is not Charles and I’m sure he will stand by Meghan, if the hounding continues I will expect them to drop out of public life entirely, maybe even move overseas.

The negativity, criticism , dirt digging and bitchiness aimed at this young couple in the U.K. press and social media is what Harry is complaining about. Plenty of examples on this thread.

merlot if someone sends you a letter, you own the letter but the writer retains the copyright of the words. IMO the MoS are in deep doodah. How sad ?

The royal yacht was disposed of 22 years ago

I am no monarchist. I would prefer the UK to be a republic but I don't see why Harry and Meghan attract so much criticism when they do no different from other members of the royal family. Yes, they are spendthrift and hypocritical but so are their elders - the example set has always been seeing people saying one thing and doing something completely different.

The duke of Edinburgh and Charles head up very prominent charities and are lauded for it. But it is other people who do all the work for these charities - they just pose for the photographs, Private jets, royal yachts, etc, etc. - all very wasteful of money and resources and yet Charles gives solemn speeches about respecting and protecting the environment.

I've just seen it on the news. Harry is doing them no favours. Surely once you send a letter to someone it becomes their property?

Least said, soonest mended, Harry.

SirChenjin Tue 01-Oct-19 22:13:23

I thought her father sold that to the paper? confused

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 22:04:27

The letter in question was the letter Megan wrote to her father.

The Mail is fighting it

SirChenjin Tue 01-Oct-19 22:02:57

Oh dear - they’re really not doing themselves any favours are they! I can’t see them staying in the UK, my money’s on a move to the US where they’ll be treated with they deference they’d like

merlotgran Tue 01-Oct-19 21:40:42

I was horrified to see the news report last night showing imprisoned children in Madagascar, sleeping on concrete shelves, packed in like sardines because they've stolen vanilla! Children!!

Meghan chooses achingly trendy causes to support. Diana drew attention to AIDS sufferers by visiting hospitals and hugging them which was unthinkable at the time.

I won't be buying vanilla any time soon. angry

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 21:34:14

I was amused when I heard talk of their S.A. Tour.

‘They care deeply about S.A. William and Kate are Team UK’

gillybob Tue 01-Oct-19 21:28:21

Exactly merlot sorry we X posts.

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 21:27:54

Wonder how many were shipped

gillybob Tue 01-Oct-19 21:27:42

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7525757/Range-Rovers-shipped-UK-Africa-Harry-Meghans-tour.html

You really do have to laugh at the hypocrisy of these two don’t you ? So it did not cost the tax payers anything but what cost to the environment ? They should be so ashamed but of course they won’t be, they’ll just carry on preaching to the rest of us.

merlotgran Tue 01-Oct-19 21:25:42

In the meantime, while Harry is still delivering speeches about how we should all be doing our bit for the environment, we now learn that the Range Rovers for their ten day tour have been shipped over from the UK rather than hire armour plated ones in SA

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 21:20:40

Doesn’t say anything about the letter such as who wrote it or to whom it was written .

I did say when they married he was marrying his mother

merlotgran Tue 01-Oct-19 21:17:19

How did the MOS get hold of it?

Leaked by a 'friend?'

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 21:10:29

She is suing the Mail on Sunday for publishing a private letter

I think Harry has serious problems

Iam64 Tue 01-Oct-19 20:48:48

I don’t recall posting without teading the thread. I’ve avoided this one because whilst not a monarchist I’m a human and dislike the attacks in other humans.
Harry has issued a statement comparing the treatment of his mother with the treatment of his wife by the press in recent months. I appreciate this will trigger yet more negative criticism of both of them, I am so relieved my adult children have ordinary lives.

Anniebach Tue 01-Oct-19 20:47:36

She hasn’t? They don’t sue

merlotgran Tue 01-Oct-19 20:44:39

Bless! Didn't they get her profile right? ?

grapefruitpip Tue 01-Oct-19 20:34:32

The Duchess of Sussex has filed a High Court claim against a Sunday paper

SirChenjin Tue 01-Oct-19 20:27:30

In what way?

grapefruitpip Tue 01-Oct-19 20:22:48

seems to be something brewing with the press.

SirChenjin Sun 29-Sept-19 19:48:01

No I can’t either gallus! My point was more to show that what Jane said about most of us wishing the SNP would push off was correct
