Apologies to Mick for jumping in but I am up early (only 7 here) as we go home today - 2 little local trains then 2 ICE fast, then Eurostar from Brussels.
I will not bore you all with what wonderful friendly people I have met, what beautiful scenery we have seen or indeed the copious excellent food and beer I have enjoyed - but it’s “auld claes and porridge” when I get home.
Wishing well to those of you with troubles and to all of you “einen schönen Tag, noch”

Rather late for good morning so good afternoon everyone! Been busy shopping today for things I can't get in Italy ! It's our anniversary today too but only 11 years! We're going out for a meal tonight with some of the family! Tomorrow is youngest gs 4th birthday so we have a party to go to! Hope everyone has a lovely evening and weekend!

Good afternoon sun shining in Bristol.

I have had no internet for the last 2 days obviously fixed now, it really brought it home to me how much I use it.
What did we ever do with out it.

Happy Anniversary GrannyGravy13.

Beechnut Fri 13-Sept-19 12:10:59

Good morning all almost good afternoon . It's lovely blue sky & sunshine. I've been out for a walk to my nearest shop today instead of taking the car (Friday 13th), good exercise I need it .

My Friday 13th had a bad start as kitchen light died just before I went to bed & I can't change the bulb. Got woken up at 5.00 by the smoke detector beeping, battery which I only put in a few weeks ago needs replacing, it will have to wait as I can't reach to put it back up. Then tv wouldn't come on as normal & I had to fiddle around for it to pick up Sky. 4 hours sleep has left me feeling grumpy sad

Decision not to risk driving, instead some much needed exercise in the sunshine, now to get motivated to do some housework gardening/sitting in the garden reading .

Megs36 Fri 13-Sept-19 11:57:19

Gillybob, where is that place?

EllanVannin Fri 13-Sept-19 10:31:31

Good Morning All x
Been getting my jobs done early again while I'm full of energy and with the help of this lovely sunny morning----off to Asda at last but do I walk the 1/4 mile or do I taxi ?

Such beautiful scenery from MawB which looked familiar somehow as I'm sure I've been near to there for a Christmas market, a weekender or 4 days just can't remember.

Friday for Gillybob, her favourite day and Birthday Greetings to Glammanana x Have a lovely day--the sun's shining for you too !

Must now get cracking before I change my mind so wishing you all a pleasant day, home and abroad and safe journey to those who are travelling.

Auntieflo Fri 13-Sept-19 09:42:01

Morning Maw, Michael, Annie and all.
It's bright and sunshiny here, but I need my window cleaner to come back, as I can hardly see through the kitchen window.
Marydoll, how do you do it? Feeling rough and cooking up a storm. Come and do some for me pretty please.
I am probably going to visit the garage today, and see if there is any news on our new car delivery date.
Gillybob, sorry your back is still painful, but it's Friday, so enjoy it, and have a good weekend.
GG13, Happy Anniversary. It's also our DD and SIL's. Their two children were also born on 13th, but different months.
To all those feeling poorly, best wishes, and have a good day one and all.

Urmstongran Fri 13-Sept-19 09:19:11

Fly fishing too! I love the friendliness and sheer diversity on this thread. Aren’t we a mixed bunch? Thank you Mick for thinking of it!
??

I do like what someone said on another thread recently (hope this doesn’t get me into trouble for mentioning it) that it takes many different types of flowers to make a pretty garden.

Urmstongran Fri 13-Sept-19 09:15:51

P.s. Happy Anniversary GG13!
?

Greyduster Fri 13-Sept-19 09:15:42

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire. I was going to go fishing today but I have decided I really can’t be bothered. The family is here this weekend so if I don’t do some food shopping there will be nothing to eat. Fishing? Food shopping? Used to be no contest! I am losing it! Have a good day folks.

Urmstongran Fri 13-Sept-19 09:14:21

A late good morning everyone from Malaga (we ARE an hour ahead - oh dear). Slept like a log and what do I find?

Only Marydoll up and about baking (baking!!) at silly o’clock after having prepped the evening meal - where DO you get your energy from woman! Maw already travelling (probably on her second train of the day already!) posting such great photos - I adored the ponies in the cobbled square. gillybob off to a suppliers before another busy day and the rest of you ironing, going out to the bank, running errands and setting out to audiology appointments.

My name is Urmstongran and I am a sloth.

Hopefully Friday will be good to us all (it’s gorgeous down here on the coast again Pantglas1) whether we have plans or (like lazy me) none.

Actually I am going out to dinner with a really nice couple tonight ... but that just displays further my laziness ... no cooking today! x

Anniebach Fri 13-Sept-19 09:08:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

gillybob Fri 13-Sept-19 08:45:46

Thank goodness it’s Friday ! Good morning from the NE coast where the sky is blue and we have promises of a lovely day ahead.

I don’t have to leave the house until about 8.55 today as picking some parts up on my way in to “that place” and they won’t be ready until 9am . DH had a slightly better night last night and was only up about 4 times instead of his usual 10 or more . Not so much pacing around either. My bleedin’ back is driving me nuts though and I can’t seem to get comfortable. I’m actually better standing up . I have tried to do all my core stability stretches but not helping much at the minute. It’s so annoying as I have loads I need to do .

Anyhoo ..... thank you for sharing your holiday snaps MawB they are beautiful. Everything looks so “chocolate box” and those horses are gorgeous. Hope you have had a lovely time.

The Tour of Britain passed by not far from us Michael and there was a bit of a “carry on” as when they passed through one of the Northumberland villages the gate at the level crossings for the East coast main line closed and half the cyclists made it through and half didn’t . Obviously they had to hold the ones who had made it through back until the level crossing opened again, which meant they had to cancel some of the timings and effectively restart. Oh dear, they factored in all sorts of road closures and rolling road blocks but forgot about the level crossings !

Sorry to hear your little Wolfie’s teeth are giving him trouble Kitty poor lamb. Our little Evie’s teeth have just popped through without much trouble.

I hope you are feeling a little better Marydoll you sound like you have had a very productive morning already which puts me to shame .

I hope all of those feeling poorly, feel better soon and those on holiday continue to have the best of times.

I’m off to “that place” soon but will be clock watching ready to make a bolt for the door. My son is going to valet my little car for me later (he’s on a half day and loves cleaning cars ) so it will look as good as new when he’s finished as he is VERY thorough and has every car cleaning lotion and potion known to man. Then I’m taking my dad for his usual 2nd shop of the week.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes for DH, you really are the loveliest of people smile xx

Good morning all from sunny SE Essex

Lovely photos Maw.

It's our wedding anniversary today, and yes we did get married on Friday 13th!!!!

Busy day, but going out for dinner in Leigh-on-Sea this evening.

Good morning Annie x

Happy Friday gillybob x

Harris27 Fri 13-Sept-19 08:30:24

Good morning from cooler north east. Finishing my first week back at work can’t believe how quick this year has gone am I getting old? Ha ha have a lovely Friday all especially gillybob!

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 13-Sept-19 08:21:22

Meant to say, loved your photos Maw; took me back to my visits to a friend who lived in the Alsace region, the autumn colours and Christmas markets and the fantastic walking. (but then she married a bloke from Essex).

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 13-Sept-19 08:18:11

Good morning from east London, bright and sunny and will hopefully warm up like yesterday. DP has advised we can start moving back into the kitchen but haven’t got a clue where the builders are drilling/sanding at the moment. My excuse to exit will be to go to the library to pick up the ‘book club’ book and pick up a prescription and maybe even a lottery ticket... School pickup to taxi GD to her dad for the weekend. For a change, I’m playing tennis this evening; it used to be a regular event for me until I retired and discovered day-time playing. Hope your day brings you what you want.

harrigran Fri 13-Sept-19 08:15:33

Good morning from a sunny NE, wall to wall blue sky.
Nothing planned for today but should do housework as we are out tomorrow.
Thinking of you gilly.

Marydoll Fri 13-Sept-19 08:13:58

Morning all. It's atypical Autumn day here in Glasgow. I love those kind of days.

Maw, your holidays sounds wonderful. I have many happy memories of travelling around Bavaria and parts of Austria on trains. It was my great student adventure.

I've been up since the crack of dawn, as I couldn't sleep.
I've made ham hough soup, plum crumble for grumpy Mr MDoll, (not that he deserves it!) and stripped the bed. I'm now off to strip the bed in the spare room, as DGD has pointed out that there is a mark on the throw and I need to wash it! It was probably she, who made the mark in the first place. grin

I will do a little baking, sultana cake and Mars Bar cake for the family who will descend tomorrow, as is their habit.
I'm shattered already. grin
I don't plan to go out at all today, still feeling pretty yukky.
I don't know whether it's the antibiotics or the cellulitis or a combination of both. sad
Thank you all for your kind wishes. Like all things, it will pass! grin

Have a good day all and Gilly, it's Friday! grin

Pantglas1 Fri 13-Sept-19 07:36:32

Morning all from a murky looking Andalusia although yesterday started the same way and it did brighten up after breakfast - here’s hoping for more of the same today!

Went to my Amigas de Casa meeting yesterday where we were given a demo on needle felting and made bookmarks, small landscapes or key rings. So easy and quite therapeutic actually!

Nothing planned today so will dip into GN and live vicariously on whatever you’re all up to - hope it’s nice stuff for all.

moggie Fri 13-Sept-19 07:35:11

Have a good day everyone ?

moggie Fri 13-Sept-19 07:33:50
