When the Worst Happens.

My instructions are, no coffin, just cardboard box or body bag, no church, quick cremation and sprinkle ashes over Beacon Hill near us, then, great party, even book a comedian, have a great laugh, and happiness, on me. ?

I made a will when I was younger in order to protect my youngest son who was still at home. Things have now changed so I really should update my will to account for my grandson. I have spoken to my 3adult children and made my thoughts known for after my death i.e. No service cremation etc my eldest son is executor so between him and my youngest they will make things right I just need to do the legal stuff!

My husband died 3 years ago. We had organised a prepaid funeral/cremation some years before, and had power of attorney for each other. My eldest now had POA for me. The prepaid funerals were well worth doing and something I would recommend. I have also left suggestions for readings and music for the service, if my children chose to use them. I just wanted to save them time and bother.

Yes, I have all the plans in place.

I even bought my coffin and decorated it a beautiful dark blue with a maroon and gold frieze.

Unfortunately and to my shame because I had not considered this aspect, it upset my son to see it in the garage so I sold it.

I am not at all bothered what happens to me after I drop off the twig.

My son will decide how he wants to deal with that part.

It will be cremation but whether he has a service, a celebration or nothing at all, will be entiely up to him because he is the one who will need it, not me.

All the financial stuff has been put into place and he will take from my house what he wants and the rest will go to a charity for the homeless.

The only thing we have done is to make wills, but are thinking of updating them and also making each other Power of Attorney. We are also going to have a chat with our grownup family about somethings. We are needing to do alot more research though.
