Strictly - why do I love it so much?

Start of autumn for me! Dark nights and long cold days and being home from work quickly. I do like strictly not enamoured with this years list though.

The Band and singers are so good!

We always have a family sweepstake compiled by DGD1. I've drawn David James and Nadia. I asked who he was and she said, the tall ugly goalkeeper.

DH has Emma and Anton. At least he knows who he's rooting for.

We pay £3 a couple and the winner gets the dosh.

I love our family sweepstakes. We do it for Eurovision and all kinds of things. Anyone would think we all have a gambling problem.

The opening show went on far too long with all that razzmatazz and swinging the women off their feet - some of the men doing knee slides. All very staged! However, there is a lot of potential there and at least Anton doesn't seem to have landed a no-hoper this time. I'm sure he expected to get that American woman!

It is about people learning a new skill, Saturday night is back to normal.

I don't know why I had it on, it's become so dull and formulaic, I suppose it's synonymous with the ritual of Saturday evenings now Autumn has arrived. Hardly knew any of them and boy did they spin out the partnering up. Claudia and Tessa get a little more irritating year on year, definitely been watching it too long.

I don't know the majority of the slebs and don't (for what it's worth) agree with Oti's sister being one of the judges. I used to like seeing Darcy's clothes, earrings and hairstyles but her voice (shudder) that drawl and the same phrases over and over...I hated it.
Arlene and Len were the best IMO.
Sorry to see Pasha go and wish Brendan was still in despite being controversial.
Why Anton is still hoofing is anyone's guess.
Maybe he's there to take the duds without complaining.

DH and I only knew 3 'celebrities' Annekaq, Mike Bushell and James Cracknell.
We look forward to seeing how they all progress

I used to love it, but the last couple of years have been fast forwarding through a lot of it. This year there are even less people I have ever heard of, and it is all so predictable. I wonder how much longer Anton will be kept on.

I am watching, but very half heartedly (nothing else much on). I will see if I eventually get drawn into it again.

I love Strictly but I'm doing my usual 'Who are these people?'
