I do envy you being near the sea. I'm about as far from it as it's possible to be! Looking out to sea puts it all in perspective as it's unchanging and will keep going in and out regardless of what nitwits in Westminster do or say!

I'm near Dartmoor and a walk up there through the heather and gorse, and watching the ponies, is very calming.
Dartmoor has a special atmosphere. Even when it's bleak it's still beautiful.
Politicians come and go, but the timeless moor with it's granite tors is always there.

Up to the pool, no Wi-Fi there. Good book, swim, watch the cows, horses, buzzards. Breathe in the fabulous views of woods and fields. Listen to the crickets and cowbells.

My back garden with a good book.
Totally peaceful & free. At the moment it is full of flowers so making the most of it before Autumn.

I'm still intrigued as to the reason for your "odd" behaviour GabriellaG and also very jealous that you can just lie down whenever you like. Were you alone may I ask ?

I partly agree with you about news . There are things I would like to be informed about but so much of the news is depressing and stressful. I'm sure it does my husband no good listening to it all.

I paint, do short meditation in my bedroom or have a bath and play the Seekers farewell concert.

Today we went into the city centre ( on the top deck of the bus like children?)
Went to a newly refurbished shopping mall where the upper level is all cafes and restaurants, sat up there looking out over the cityscape (Oxford) the ‘dreaming spires’.It was as hot as Spain! Sat outside having elevenses and idly chatting.People kept going to sit inside to get some shade.
We must make the most of the weather because Autumn is on the way, in fact, home now and looking out of the window there is a stiff breeze whipping the trees about.

Well done to the authors on this thread, yes, some happy light reading is just what I want....it goes with the weather.

I've just done a long walk across the moors with our dogs and a good friend .We take a snack,find a perch for lunch and chat away.We had everything from wind,rain and glorious sunshine .Likewise gardening makes me forget everything but the plants and birds .I cherish still being fit enough to enjoy being active and outdoors.And being a dog owner.That resets my equilibrium every time.

Well in direct contrast to Oxford, here in the NE we have had high winds, a maximum temperature of about 14 degrees and the inevitable rain with plenty more on the way.

There’s always a silver lining gilly ?log fires, cosy throws and woolly socks and hot chocolate this evening?

Been out with my Daughter for brunch, had a lovey chat without a word about Brexit,mind you I dont live in the UK maybe the B word doesnt pop up as often here.

Should be some new Autumn dramas on tv to look forward to as well.
Recorded Sanditon to watch ( watched it last night, second episode) I quite like it, but it’s very strange ? Jane Austen meets Jilly Cooper.Half spoof, half serious.

Oh I am planning on watching Sanditon sometime soon. Hopefully when I am able to stay away past about 8.30 pm . I do love a costume drama.

OMG Annie I could watch Willie Nelson all day every day. His voice is amazing and so soothing . Have you see the video for his new song “Ride me back home” ? The one about the horses ? I could cry buckets of happy tears watching it . Especially when you know the back story.

Sewing and knitting are great for relaxation.
Still, listening to books on audio and watching/listening to music are great too.

Having had a morning of difficult meetings and the afternoon off work, my partner took me to the pub for lunch.

A sandwich and a spritzer later, we were both feeing more chilled out ...

It's not my everyday solution but on occasion it's a good option.
