never to go near a shopping centre on a Saturday afternoon especially at the end of the month/end of the school holidays!
White rabbits to EV and all traditionalists! wink
Age has compensated me by warning against shopping malls on weekends, especially on Father's Day such as today here in Melbourne!;
And I've even been banned from running my own BBQ on OH&S grounds! sad

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 10:43:57

Good Morning All x White rabbits.
Winter draws on here ! A rather cool ( cold ) sea breeze which is just about managing to blow the rain clouds away but now and again I can see spots on the window.

I've been up a while but make the mistake of studying all the threads on here before saying my " good morning ". Too nosy I suppose.

Not a lot going on today but I've decided to make a quick chocolate cake after the lamb's done, with a choc and orange filling for a change. Exciting !

What a worry for you gillybob, that's no good at all having to wait and also the fact that you too are losing sleep with the busy life you have.

Best wishes to those under the weather with illness and bad news and I hope things improve as the day goes.

Good morning from sunny Devon, chilly first thing, sign of Autumn. Went to local Nourish Festival yesterday, lots of lovely stalls. Today I plan a day in the garden, nothing too strenuous, possibly just sit in the sun with my booksmile

gillybob Sun 01-Sept-19 09:25:37

A late good morning from the NE coast where it is dry for now but rain due later .

After another horrible night of barely any sleep DH is now sleeping (unknown for him to be in bed after 7am) . I’m not sure what we can do really . Surely they cant expect him to go backwards and forwards to A&E every couple of days for another 2 weeks (at least) ?
We had a very rare invitation out to dinner at my cousins last night but had to cancel so feeling a bit down about that. DH said I should have still gone but I couldn’t really.

Thank you everyone for your good wishes, you are so kind.

Anyway I had a fix of cabbage (been craving it for days) washed down with a nice glass of red, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Watched a bit rubbish TV on catch up too.

I’m so sorry to hear that you have ended up in hospital Harris27 what an end to your holiday that was . I hope you are feeling better soon. flowers

I would love to have a garden big enough for 5 sheds cornergran I wouldn’t want all the sheds but the space they stand on would be most welcome . smile

I hope you continue to enjoy your holiday in Malaga Urmstongran despite your recent sad news.

I love gammon done in Coca Cola kittylester in fact I might do some during the week. I have never tried it with cherry coke mind you. I can’t decide whether it sounds delicious or disgusting. Do report back . smile

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday doing just what they want to do or nothing at all. xx

Sorry Harris have just read through previous posts.
You certainly did have an unfortunate end to your holiday.
Wishing you a speedy recovery thanks

Nannytopsy Sun 01-Sept-19 09:19:50

Good morning everyone! That was bad luck Harris - I have that T shirt and know how unpleasant the little blighters are. Maw just need to pop up the road to Leicester - lots of rain about, in short sharp showers. Looks better today.
Well, a final push on the packing, a last cut of the lawn and the last run to the tip today as we should move out on Tuesday. Not sure I can stand the tension - will we exchange tomorrow or not???

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 09:16:34

Ha! the seventh circle of hell. Great description MawB!

Poor you Harris - kidney stone pain is excruciating. I remember years ago rocking up at A&E begging for morphine. It was given and I was admitted PDQ.

MawB Sun 01-Sept-19 09:09:01

Good morning from sunny N. Bucks!
Yesterday’s rain must have been very localised as Northampton is not far and I didn’t see any - the garden is still parched.
Got various jobs done yesterday but will somebody please, please remind me never to go near a shopping centre on a Saturday afternoon especially at the end of the month/end of the school holidays! It was the seventh circle of hell and not to be repeated!
Wishing you all a pleasant day ??

Morning all lovely sunny day in Bristol.

Back now from my night away looking after the wee one, he is walking now and into everything we needed eyes in the back of our heads but it was fun.
Expecting the other 2 Dgc and ds this morning have not seen a lot of them over the holidays as they have been away a lot, mum is a teacher and has the holidays off, but back to the school runs next week, it keeps us on track with what day of the week it is.

ninathenana Sun 01-Sept-19 09:02:06

Good morning from a bright and breezy Kent.

I've been up a while but have been busy and only just picked up my phone. DH is down the plot and will bring home the accompaniments for tonight's roast chicken.
Meanwhile, Ill be settling down with a coffee and today's large crossword.
Have a good say everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire where the sun is shining.
A quiet day for us,we were meant to be going out with DD1 and DGD but DD is not feeling up to it,She is 36 weeks pregnant and has been doing too much,we hope she is starting maternity leave this week.
I have signed up to do a 100 mile walking challenge in September, seemed like a good idea at the time! Will Aim to do 3 miles today?
Gillybob, I hope your husband is feeling better today.
Dragonfly, sending you much love and best wishes for tomorrow.?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 01-Sept-19 08:52:36

Morning all from sunny South Notts where we have blue skies after yesterdays heavy shower.

So glad I bothered to mow the lawn before the downfall.

Out for a drive and the shopping later.

You've really been through the wars, marydoll and gillybob - I hope things get better for you.

Hope is well with everyone.

Harris27 Sun 01-Sept-19 08:50:03

Good. Ironing had lovely holiday then on way home felt poorly now in hospital with kidney stone lovely end to holiday.

cornergran Sun 01-Sept-19 08:48:01

Posh? Oh I wish. They are all small sheds, honest. No garage so the junk has to go somewhere. Mr C is a hoarder of things that may be useful one day, better for my sanity in the sheds than in here grin.

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 01-Sept-19 08:47:18

Good morning from east London, cooler today although the sun is shining. Went to Canvey Island yesterday with GD and once we’d got there and got out of the car, we had a good time and some decent fish and chips. (I may have to go back to the moaning chat to rant about A13 closures and parking places where everything has to be done on line as the ticket machines are OOO. Then again, maybe it’s the authorities trying to be environmentally friendly by saving paper). ?
As GD has now gone to stay with her dad, today we will be cleaning and I may actually cook a meal - having the builders around has totally whacked any routine I had. Have a good day.

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 08:44:52

5 sheds? You’re posh!

cornergran Sun 01-Sept-19 08:37:31

Morning Mick, morning All. Clear blue sky over our corner of Somerset. Little sleep again, sort of numb this morning. My plan was to sort a shed today (we have 5 - don’t ask!), will still try although Mr C may well find me asleep in it. Hope Sunday is kind to everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 08:33:18

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga. Pinch punch and all that!

Off for my swim in a bit. I didn’t go yesterday as didn’t feel up to it having received some sad news about a family member.

Celtic -v- Rangers at lunchtime and my husband has been invited by a new friend he’s made out here, from Glasgow. They are off to a well known sports bar here to watch the game. He’s been given a Rangers bright orange shirt to wear and feels a killjoy if he doesn’t put it on! Oh dear...
?

Trust gillybob’s husband had a better night.

Marydoll I love reading your chatty, cheery posts they are a tonic first thing in a morning! I do hope you have glorious weather in Italy. You deserve it!

Hope Sunday is kind to us all whether we have plans r (like me) none. x

harrigran Sun 01-Sept-19 08:30:22

Good morning from a dry NE, forecast is for rain by lunchtime.
We are meeting up with family for dinner tonight, it is GD's birthday tomorrow and we are celebrating today before her aunt returns to Belgium.
Adding my best wishes for Mr gillybob.

Auntieflo Sun 01-Sept-19 08:29:17

Morning Michael, Annie to come, and all others.
Bellasnana, you beat me to the 'white rabbits' smile
I have been up a while, as I take my weekly tablet on Sunday mornings,so DH gets a cuppa in bed as a treat. He is usually bringing me one.
Marydoll, have you found the plot yet? I know how you feel, and it's so annoying , being so sure that you've done something, then you find you haven't!
You sound like my sort of person Beechnut.
I get a lot of pleasure out of recycling bits and pieces, hence our mis-matched home, garden, shed, garage etc, etc.
Must get a move on, as I don't want to be late for church, and we will have a lot to talk about during coffee afterwards, as we were away last weekend.
Gillybob, hope you and your DH are OK.
Have a good day one and all.
