Recipe for tomato tarte pretty please!

I am thinking about, putting socks on, jumper or turning on the heating, there has definitely been a downturn of temperature and it's a "bit blowy" ??

I cannot switch on the heating because the workmen are upstairs with every window open because they are boiling hot.
Please can we have a heatwave again?

I have heating on here.
A long sleeved top and a thin fleece wasn’t enough.
At least it’s stopped mizzling .

Re the Saturday appointment, this also happens where I live because there are too many patients and they have run out of weekday slots. I have found it was to my advantage because it was not like the usual chaos- fewer patients so I spent less time there. The worst weekday was 5 hours- I had almost lost the will to live. The disadvantage is that you will never see a consultant on a Saturday.

When you leave you will have very poor eyesight- your eyes will be blurred because of the drops and it takes 4-6 hours to return to normal so consider food for that day!

I finally have an appointment with the eye specialist. It is on a Saturday , which I thought was strange. Anyway I don't mind what day it is.TOYA

I have had a serious senior moment. The portrait of Smokey the cat had reached the stage where I was due to start painting. Out of the blue, so to speak, a photo fell from a book I was browsing through. It was of a cat called Smokie. A cat whose portrait I completed yonks ago. Somehow, that cat's photo had made it's way into the new Smokie folder. Had I not checked with the lady in the village, I would now be starting a painting of the wrong Smokie.... Back to the drawing board.

Afternoon all.
All the photos of the little ones starting school were lovely, it certainly took me back to my children's first day.
I hope they all settle in well.
It is alternately sunny and rainy here on the S Welsh coast but very windy. Our son is part of an RNLI group cycling from Poole to Porthcawl raising money for a cancer charity. The first leg is today, Poole to Bath, then Bath - Newport tomorrow and Newport - home on Sunday. I hope that the weather will be kind to them, it isn't good today.
You seem to be getting on well dragonfly and that is good to here. It is lovely to have family around at such times, enjoy their pampering.
Carillion I love French supermarkets and envy you all the lovely produce, fish and patisseries. The tomato tart sounds so good.
Enjoy your ferry crossing Nannyt hope it is plain sailing for you and enjoy your holiday.
There is so much to catch up on in the kitchen. I hope your husband is bettersoop and good wishes to all those will concerns and illness.

My builder is here to fit my new sliding wardrobe doors and he noticed a few days ago I had removed my two dead hanging baskets from the front of the house. He brought two beautifully filled new ones and hung them for me today.

If he would like to take charge of the rear garden please feel free. He thought the tiles etc at the rear needed a cleanup so next week he is going to pressure wash them for free. I do think he should move in permanently- I will inform his wife and children gently.

GG your GS loves his pony- such a pity he has to go to school for so long. Does he realise he has to return next week?

Cold and grey here today- we do not appear to have much rain or when it does fall it is during the night.

I'm not sure if anyone likes action movies but I meant to say Angel has Fallen was an entertaining movie. Predictable plot but worth a watch !

I have some crafting to do this weekend but other than that there is little of interest on the horizon . It might be a rut- but its MY rut and I love it :-)

Hello the kitchen. Nice to be back in here with all the lovely babies, school starters, gorgeous scenery and (though I am sworn off it) cake!
We have spent the last two weeks looking after my sister in law who has dementia, in order to give her sister, who is her carer, a much needed break. We took her back to Wales and spent a few days in her home with her just to make sure that she was properly ‘back in her groove’, but need not have worried.

I’m sorry but at the moment I can’t think where to start and catch up with everything I have missed, but I would like to say to Dragonfly that I am glad you are recovering well after your surgery. Onward and upward!
I’ll try and look in later.

dragonfly, enjoy your shower, and rest. Let your family take care of you, you will be back doing all the normal mundane house jobs soon enough ??

Had my wound checked yesterday and now down to steristrips so can now shower albeit with the dreaded drain which does seem to be behaving itself!

Had a lovely surprise last night as DS arrived at teatime unexpectedly. He cooked our dinner and stayed the night. He wanted to see how his old mum is doing. I have felt lots of love the last few days from family and friends.

mamissimo and grannyg, beautiful children, a joy to see them.

Im envious of those skies grannyq, it looks fabulous there. Wonderful photos as usual. We played hookey from all the things we ‘should’ have done today and had a day at Cheddar, just wandering and eating, err, quite a lot. As you will see from the image the skies were steadfastly grey. Didn’t spoil our excellent lunch though .
