NanaandGrampy Sun 08-Sept-19 08:57:37

Morning all,

I think summer is definitely on the wane here as I have a sweater on over my pjs !! Time to get the winter clothes down out of the loft I fear ! Summer seems to have flown past this year,

I didn't have to worry about Grampy this morning Callgirl he was up pre 8am !!

Lovely pictures Corner , I feel a National Trust wander coming on this week.

Lins lovely the photo of your little chap - I shall add Sam here too and his lovely portrait painted by our own Soop .

Happy day all !

Carillion01 Sun 08-Sept-19 08:35:13

Hello everyone. Cool but sunny just now.

Maw and Marydoll lovely holiday news.

We're off for a walk this morning along our bit of the Nantes to Brest canal nice and autumnal now and the swallows are massing in our hamlet, they'll be off any time now. I love this time of the year, the little window of late summer but not yet darker nights. ?

MawB Sun 08-Sept-19 06:03:08

Don’t want to preempt Mick’s Good Morning thread, but my wi-fi seems t come and go so while I have it- Guten Morgen!
Lovely crowd on this holiday - yes, a moment when I joined a table at supper when one man asked pleasantly enough, “Is your husband with you?” But soon got past that.
Moving on from Wuppertal to our destination today so it will be good to unpack and relax - and take some pics
TOYA!

I hope the baby arrives soon Tanith.
GrannyQ and Corner, lovely photos.
Soop, another masterpiece completed, mine are still on my walls, Pepper and Mia in here, Duke in my bedroom, and Dawn has her painting of Duke in her living room. A friend of hers painted a pic of Duke as a present for her, it`s okaaaay, it certainly is a good painting of a German Shepherd, but it doesn`t LOOK like Duke, whereas yours captured his entire personality.
N&G, so glad Grampy did surface from his bed, I love the way your mind works, lol!
Izabella, great to see you back in the kitchen.
Panache, I`m wishing I could move in at your place, it sounds fantastic.
Dragonfly, glad all is still going well.
Last night I went to Skegness with Dawn to see Jane MacDonald. It was a full house, and a brilliant show, loved it.

tanith Sat 07-Sept-19 22:40:24

Just popped back before bed , baby still hasn’t arrived. Have a good night everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-Sept-19 22:17:06

Have managed get GC and Mr.Gravy to bed.......naughty Granny is watching “c**p tv” and partaking in a nice chilled white wine

I hope all of the poorly folk soon get rid of all of their buggerations.

I did love the portrait of that gorgeous dog=so well done.

corner I do not know where you live but I know it is outside London so I can say on his behalf, a big sorry.
TOYA

cornergran Sat 07-Sept-19 19:35:18

There’s a thread about slippers kitty started dragonfly so seems OK. Pleased you’re more comfortable but sorry to hear people have been or are feeling poorly. I’m afraid to list folk in case I miss anyone out so just hope you’re all more comfortable soon. Thanks for asking about my friend, physical progress is slow but sure, a lot not known yet.

Your builder sounds a gem Charleygirl, how far does he travel?

Enjoy your holiday maw, it got off to a good start. I’ve just consumed an Indian takeaway but do fancy a croissant.

Oh dear, I know it’s only metal (or plastic?) greyd but car damage is a real nuisance.

Loved the painting soop, how I wish there was an artistic bone in my body. Would settle for just one grin.

I wandered a National Trust today while Mr C was off on a photography workshop. Enjoyed the late summer flowers and had excellent if flighty company for my lunch stop. Didn’t miss Mr C at all, best not to tell him grin.

Feet up time now. TOYA.

dragonfly46 Sat 07-Sept-19 18:16:37

Great to hear from you Izabella.

Has anyone heard from kittylester recently? I hope she is okay - last I heard she was battling with exploding champagne bottles!

Susan56 Sat 07-Sept-19 18:10:58

nandg, the portrait really is a masterpiece isn’t it.Soop has captured Harry’s likeness perfectly. We still have to agree on where to hang it.
Gransal,Panache,Isabella and dragonfly hope you all start to feel better soon?
Hope I haven’t missed anyone.
TOYA

Izabella Sat 07-Sept-19 17:43:32

Good afternoon. I not posted for a while due to medication changes which upset the equilibrium to say the least. Having convinced myself I was in a fit state to return to the kitchen I popped into what I thought was the kitchen only to realise I had posted a totally irrelevant missive on the estrangement thread. So besides forgetting the whereabouts of both Post Office and GP surgery during the week, I now cannot be trusted to find my way into the haven that is soops kitchen. No matter I am in the right place at last.

No chance of recapping properly but I will restart the post it notes again and hopefully be back to a more normal me ?

Suffice to say I am enjoying the warm sun, picking plums and runner beans and deciding which raised bed to plant the garlic in. Such are my taxing decisions of the day.

TOYA and apologies if i have missed any vital news. ?

NanaandGrampy Sat 07-Sept-19 17:30:44

Afternoon all,

I am avoiding the football on the Tv so thought I would pop in.

Soop another masterpiece !!That will be cherished, I have Sam's portrait in the West Wing where I can sit and see it while I work. You are so talented .

Safe journey Maw .

dragonfly46 Sat 07-Sept-19 17:06:57

The scrape on your car must have been the final straw Greyduster.

And you must have the best handyman Charlie.

corner I hope your friend is more settled and your goddaughter happier.

What a difference a day makes. I feel so much better than I did.

dragonfly46 Sat 07-Sept-19 17:03:44

Panache good to hear from you. Your place sounds wonderful although sorry to hear about your flare up.

Lovely painting soop.

Maw enjoy your holiday.

soop Sat 07-Sept-19 16:34:29

gransal I have a jar containing 19 gall stones, extracted after a horrible flair up. I wish you well. Take things easy. flowers

Panache, as always, a kindly word for every one of us lot. You are such a lovely lady.

Thank you all for the beautiful photographs. It's a glorious day in Kintyre. We're about to enjoy brew on our so-called terrace.

Not a lot of progress with the cat portrait. The photos that I'm using as a reference are less than helpful. However...onwards and hopefully, with a good dollop of luck, I shall begin to feel more confident.

TOYA and wishing you a pleasant Saturday evening. smile moon

gransal Sat 07-Sept-19 15:43:38

Lovely to hear from you panache*, so glad you are settling in. Home 2 days now after 6 days in hospital.I have an inflamed gall bladder although no stones ,thank goodness. Not the most pleasant stay , jut glad to be home and on the mend. Soop your painting is stunning. What a handsome chap and you have done him proud. TOYA.

annodomini Sat 07-Sept-19 15:37:50

Bon Voyage Maw. It sounds like an intriguing holiday.xx

Panache Sat 07-Sept-19 15:34:30

My word on reading back and enjoying those pictures it seems an age since I popped by and obviously I am missing out.
Perhaps you will excuse me when I say I have been very much off colour for several days, the dreaded diverticulitis again.

GQ your pictures truly are mouth watering and they really brought back some lovely memories to both my scottish man and myself, you are such a wizard with the camera. You captured some stunners there.Thank you.

So pleased hearing the positivity in your posts Dragonfly and just hope you continue to sail through the various stages of recovery, helped by much love, the kind that helps all ills.

Feeling for you and your latest brush with poor health Mamissimo having been there very similarly to your good self, believe me you have my full sympathy.Hoping there will be a firm diagnoses very soon and some healing.Beautiful photos though.

Sounds as though the big move happened Nanny t and you are now enjoying a break before getting stuck in to form a home.

Sounds as though your son and the rest RNLI team have quite a ride there Lins1066 and I wish them all the luck..........with a nice rest at the end!.......and much money raised for this good cause.

I certainly would like to meet your man helper CharleyG he is certainly the sort dreams are made of.I have a distinct feeling he will be moving in,bag and baggage!!
Trouble is these days this kindness is not seen all that often, hence we make these jokes. But seriously, what a nice man,and you are a lucky recipient.

It also seems your holiday is only going to get better Maw and I wish you well.

Hopefully your MacS will soon have his blood sorted and we trust it is nothing to be too concerned about, although my guess is that you are bound to worry our Soop.

Not the ideal holiday in Wales then Greyduster when caring for this dear lady, though I suspect you feel better for having taken a share of such a load,a shame about your car though, that was certainly not wanted.

Life goes on here and this week we are having a Chinese Buffet if you please.Who said that Sheltered livin g could be staid and boring??!!
Whilst the gathering in our Dining Hall is very much akin to the catwalk at one of these model events!!!!
It certainly makes life interesting!

Still feeling slightly battered but shall see you all soon, have yourselves a pleasant weekend.

Lins1066 Sat 07-Sept-19 14:45:45

Galen Sat 07-Sept-19 14:35:14

carillion thankyou. I look forward to trying that

soop Sat 07-Sept-19 13:22:42

Do you lot ever stay still? Seems not. You must be turbo-charged.

Tanith We are looking forward to the birth of the new baby. In due course, if permitted, we would love a pic to hang in the kitchen gallery.

N&G I haven't yet stopped laughing. That meal looked messy and obviously tasted like iron filings. I won't ask Grampy for the recipe.

dragonfly The bruising does linger. But, it's a positive sign that you making a good recovery. flowers

Maw Be good! hmm Enjoy your hols.

Susan56 Prompt service from the postie. I'm impressed. Glad that you are happy with the result. I can now add a photo to show our kitcheners.
