Greyduster My heart goes out to you. Naturally you feel upset. Any one of us would. You also understand that it is the dementia, not your sister-in-law that is to blame. It is a vile condition. Please try not to dwell on this development unduly. I'm thankful that you you will continue to have fun with your grandson. Yes...it was a buggeration being told too late that you were not required for the school run...but...these things happen from time to time. So, hey ho!
Please save me some sloe gin when you get around to making it. I am very partial to tot or two.

I have finished the latest paintings and they are packed and ready to go.

The larger framed picture is for middle son. I'm showing you lot but cannot at this stage include them on FB.

Care home visit in the morning. I shall be back with you in the afternoon. TOYA. smile moon

Beautiful pictures Soop, and a very impressive frame, your son will love it!

grannyqueenie Thu 26-Sept-19 18:50:50

Beautiful paintings as always soop the recipients will love them I'm sure. Please synonymous never worry about having moan or a wobble in here, Its impossible to stay positive all of the time and actually come to think of it you do actually manage to do just that most of the time.kitty I do hope your watery problem has abated a bit, rotten luck ti have it happen when you are so far from home.

Greyduster did you just mention the C you must be seriously fed up to risk such talk! But if you leave some of that gin on the side we will all forgive you! I can understand your frustration at feeling you have frittered away a decent day. I have very gently plodded my way through todays jobs and have more or less sorted out everything that needed to be done. We popped out for a spot of lunch and a breath of fresh air completely forgetting the international cycling races that are happening all around us. As a result we saw some of the support vehicles and cyclists whizz past, then later on our way home a woman on horseback. The contrast made me smile! Obviously there are photos, albeit ones taken on my phone!

Tomorrow we are off to spend the weekend with all our children and grandchildren to celebrate our recent Golden Wedding. I’m excited but if I'm absolutely honest a wee bit apprehensive too as we haven’t been all together like this for a while. A lot of strong personalities will all be under one roof, at least no one is bringing their dog that means one less thing to worry about. The old boy as always never worries about that sort of thing, he is taken up with the organisational side of it all which is a bit like herding cats!

Right then I must away, our houseguest is eating elsewhere tonight and there are rumours of bacon butties for us this evening . They are the old boy’ signature dish!

Toya, but most especially of all those with sore hearts or aching bones tonight. X

soop Fri 27-Sept-19 14:03:05

Thank you, callgirl1 We said hello to David. Five camper vans. Heavy showers followed by bright sunshine. The new Muasdale shop has opened. It looks very smart and we'll need to call in sometime.

Thank you, granniequeenie I wish you , your husband together with all your nearest and dearest, a very special celebration in honour of your golden wedding.
I last relished a bacon buttie years ago. Middle son always treated us to one whenever we stayed at his home. Delicious!

My photo for today is of the lone gull with his many cormorant mates on their very special rock. I took one last week too. Every time we pass...they are grouped together. The gull is always alone. wink

It is the most awful day here .
Torrential rain and so chilly the CH is on.
I have been for a meds review and got my flu jab done while I was there.
I thought I might "feel a bit poorly " and would have an excuse to read all afternoon, but no, I feel fine and must do a bit of housework, not my favourite occupation.
TOYA in this bad weather.

Nannyfaraway Fri 27-Sept-19 14:44:56

Afternoon everyone. Just popping in as we are off on a flying visit to Switzerland to visit our Daughter. Son in Law and Grandaughter. She is 11 months old now.
Will pop back in on Monday

ann I'm about to make myself useful aboot the hoos. Not my favourite occupation either.

Nannyfaraway Safe travels. This will be a super special treat. Pics please (when you return).

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Sept-19 16:18:37

I have had my flu jab this morning, arm just beginning to be achy!!

Enjoying lots of cuddles with our darling new GS.

We have just had the most torrential rain storm I have seen for years I feel our house, garden and cars have been jet washed!!!!!!

Have a great weekend and all those kitcheners and family members who are poorly or with troubles I send virtual hugs

TOYA ??

kittylester Fri 27-Sept-19 16:29:00

The lady who looks after my brother's house here in Cornwall has just been round to show us how to put up the flood gate!! shock

dragonfly46 Fri 27-Sept-19 17:29:03

Ha ha kitty water while you away and water at home - my worst nightmare!

soop Fri 27-Sept-19 17:56:33

kitty shock It never rains...etc.

GrannyGravy Cuddles with your darling baby grandson have made up for the achy aftermath of the flu jab.
Funny that you should have mentioned "jet washed". The photo that I took today of the gull and mates shows their favourite rock to be pristine clean. It is normally caked in layers of white droppings. The rain has thoroughly cleaned their patch It looks smart.

How you are feeling, dragonfly? I intended having a short lie down after lunch. And then our ann mentioned housework. I felt a tinge of guilt. Left the computer, completed the ironing and then proceeded to clean the book shelves. Job done! In a way, I feel less tired for having accomplished something useful. Thank you, ann. grin

Log off time. The weather has improved dramatically. Maybe tomorrow we'll be able to take a much needed walk.

TOYA smile moon

Susan56 Fri 27-Sept-19 18:56:47

NanaandGrampy Fri 27-Sept-19 20:28:58

Evening all !!

Its been a storm filled day here today , earlier this evening the storm cut off the village bringing down trees on a number of power lines and the avalanche of water had to be seen to be believed !!

Your daughter is in the right place Susan - how exciting !! Hope everything goes well.

I am taking part in an online virtual craft and tea party tomorrow to honour a lovely lady who recently passed away from cancer . We are raising money for Cancer Research . So I shall pop in tomorrow !!

Happy evening all x

Doodle Fri 27-Sept-19 20:42:40

It’s been torrential rain here too today. Had to pull over in the car as we couldn’t see where we were going. So cold. Our heating is on too. TOYA

Nannytopsy Fri 27-Sept-19 21:13:04

We too have had torrential rain! It has made us stay in and work on unpacking and cleaning. This area has very hard water, so we have been removing lots of limescale in the bathrooms. Now feeling a bit smug!
Fingers crossed for a speedy outcome Susan - been there, done that myself and I have the T shirt!
TOYA

Susan56 Fri 27-Sept-19 21:40:22

Thank you Nannytopsy,am hoping baby arrives soon but nothing much happening at the moment.Matilda is eventually asleep and I am in bed too as we have to be up early for ballet in the morning,Matilda not me!!

cornergran Fri 27-Sept-19 23:32:31

Wishing everyone well susan.

I’ve done almost nothing today. Felt dreadful this morning, flipping lurgy, incredible sinus pain. As the room seemed to be circling me I stayed safely in bed and allowed Mr C to bring regular hot drinks, didn’t fancy food. Emerged mid afternoon blush, pottered a bit then watched I have no idea what on tv so of course not sleepy now. Hope to be better tomorrow, things to organise and need a functioning head.

What is it with you and water kitty? Hope your ceiling at home remains intact, stay safe.

Apparently it poured here all morning, heavy showers this afternoon I’m hoping for better weather tomorrow as I need some fresh air.

TOYA. Take care everyone.

Nannytopsy Sat 28-Sept-19 06:57:18

I hope you got some sleep Corner and that you feel much better today. How much longer are you away Kitty? Perhaps I won’t mention the weather forecast hmm

Susan56 Sat 28-Sept-19 06:59:48

Thank you cornergran.Hope you are feeling better today?

Izabella Sat 28-Sept-19 08:55:36

Gosh, things certainly move apace in this 'ere kitchen. Just a few post-it notes to precis.

soop as ever such beautiful pictures. You are a talented lady. As for kitty I hope the water sagas resolve themselves. Worrying. And to Phoenix I hope all went well with the cataract surgery.

cornergran I am totally with you on the lurgy front. An unwelcome addition to the Izabella household too. I am on the mend with a residual cough only, but CH is battling with full blown (no pun intended) symptoms. We can both outdo Rudolph on the red nose stakes.

On a brighter note I have ordered a new swim cap which assures me that my drag will be reduced, lap times reduced and my all round performance enhanced. ? We shall see.

More rain here again but the sky a little brighter. Making beetroot hummus later so will leave some for everyone.

Hoping annesixty, panaches and MrSynonymous are rallying. TOYA

Izabella Sat 28-Sept-19 08:56:30

Oh and to susan56 hope all is delivered well

MawB Sat 28-Sept-19 09:01:33

Good morning Kitcheners (no, I know that’s another thread, but frankly I am just heading to this one as a cursory glance at GN first thing filled me with no desire to delve deeper!)
I am sorry so many of you are poorly or beset by buggerations, won’t itemise, as I am sure to miss somebody out, but I look forward to baby news at least.
Glad I wasn’t the only one to sneak the heating on last night - and, maybe coincidentally, had the best nights sleep I have had in weeks- midnight to 6.30 ish.
It’s a bit blowy here, that will bring more leaves down , but the Autumn colours are beautiful.
TOYA
