Just popping back to say dear Lins1066 feeling for you suffering yet again and so soon following your new found freedom from your other painful situation. You certainly seem to have struck a nerve there and it often happens when you are doing the easiest yet essential menial tasks. At least you were seen and hopefully things have substantially improved for you.
Sending you a special Get well hug.flowers

Morning all! On our way back to the ferry in beautiful weather. Thanks for offering Kitty grin. We have decided a shed, kept frost free with a greenhouse heater is the answer. Have a good weekend everyone

NanaandGrampy Sat 14-Sept-19 09:29:01

Morning all !

Its a blue sky start to the day here. We are just deciding if we will meander down to the church for the Harvest Festival Food Fayre. I think we should ( there will be cake !) - watch this space for a decision !! :-)

Kitty , I love the seaside - will there be candyfloss? I see a theme emerging for today :-)

You'll get the hang of your scooter in no time Galen and think how nice it will be to get out and about .

That made me laugh Panache ! I was once in Costco on my small scooter, when it took off , careering around, and narrowly missing people and display cabinets !! Grampy said it was my fault but some weeks later , it stopped working and when the engineer arrived I was vindicated as it had an electrical fault ! But for a while there I did feel like I took my life in my hands every time I used it lol

Well, time we made a decision - but lets start with breakfast !!

Not gaken but galen.

kittylester Sat 14-Sept-19 07:13:33

Happy to help with the wine topsy. Is this pre Brexit panic buying? wine

Congratulations grannyqueenie on your golden anniversary. It will be ours next year. We are feeling lucky and surprised in equal measure! Congratulations to you and Mr Gravy too, gg13.

gaken, are there any 'lessons' you could take before you go on the roads just to give you a bit of confidence? You dont want to end up like Fred!

dragonfly, I hope you feel better today.

We are off to the seaside (when we get up and going!) for a couple of days but I hope to keep up to date.

Nannytopsy Sat 14-Sept-19 04:44:48

Is there somewhere quiet you can practice Galen? You need to get your nerve back don’t you. I hope that it is like so many things, worse in anticipation.
We have spent too much on wine this week but with the intention of storing it. Now realise we have underfloor heating so the cupboard under the stairs will be too warm. Aaagh!

Pants and bras, nightdresses. What else?

Galen Sat 14-Sept-19 00:33:48

Haven’t taken possession of my new 8mph road scooter, I am in even more fear of driving it after Panache’s description.
It’s over a year since I last drove on the road, and frankly, I’m scared.

On the bright side, I’m thinking of ordering a new pair of earrings to match the pearl necklace I’ve on order.

Reminds me, I must sort out packing , which necklaces to take?
Suppose I’d better sort some clothes as well.
I need 5 formal dresses!

HELP!!!!

Anneliese63 Fri 13-Sept-19 19:45:16

Lins1066 I didn’t try the bar, but did use the vanish gel. That was yesterday as a prewash. Today I followed your advice annsixty and hung the tops in the sunshine, after putting white vinegar on the stains. And although not perfect, they are much improved!

We are again blessed with such a warm day of glorious sunshine with much the same promised for the weekend.

Having totally missed out on our Golden wedding celebrations last December with my dear one in Hospital having had a stroke, believe me G Q and GG13 I fully know how blessed you must feel as you celebrate yours as a couple.I sincerely hope it will be as pleasureable as when you said those two little important words.
As for trying before buying quite frankly I do see the sense in that too!!!
We can but hope we reach our 60th in style.

Indeed Soop that was such suberb enacting from the young Corrie couple, and because it is so very close to our situation (except their youth and babe) I am not too sure it will be wise to continue following it.The jury is out.
But yes, on the other hand, a very touching story line for once.

Whilst I understand your desire to have some meals thought out and prepared Kitty I have to relate yet another rather hilarious story of life in what my dear one has now nicknamed The Penitentionary!!!!!!......because you really do not know what may happen next and there are all sorts as residents!!
In fact he loves writing small quirky stories and is seriously considering writing about life in this place!
Last weekend one resident was duly celebrating not only his 82nd birthday, but also a family wedding. We had noted he was missing from the dining table where usually his voice is heard above most!
It seems our Fred had drank a few "sherberts" too many and was actually taken into Police custody, spending the night tucked up in a cell, because when trying to return on his quite powerful mobility scooter........... it hit the kerb and both bike and the very portly gent fell over!!!
Just imagine it..........drunk in charge of a mobility scooter!!!
He was brought safely back in a police van and it will be an occasion he will not be allowed to forget for a long while!!!
He has actually chosen to write to thank the Police for taking such good care of him!
I tell you life in this establishment has more sides to it than any holiday!!

Pleased your holiday is being chalked up as a winner Maw and now another great treat calls,Home sweet home and your Hattie...........those kisses will soon tell you how much you have been missed.

At long last my leg gash has been declared healed, however would you believe, on this same day I have had an appointment to attend a Minor Injuries Clinic in a distant Hospital with view of removing what could well be another BCC on the same leg.............and the one that already has had another skin cancer removed a few years ago.

Fingers crossed but all seems well with our house sale, but it will be such a relief when those contracts are finally signed.

Time to wave bye my dear kitchen friends, enjoy the weekend and TOYA XX

callgirl1 Fri 13-Sept-19 17:48:30

Many Congratulations to the GrannyQs and the GrannyGs! We also spent our 50th in hospital. We clocked up 53 altogether, it would have been 56 this year.
So glad you`ve had a good holiday MawB, are you going to go again next year?
Dragonfly, have yourself a good old rest every afternoon, even Wonderwoman has to slow down occasionally!
We keep losing the internet intermittently today, it`s very annoying, but then it is Friday the 13th.

NanaandGrampy Fri 13-Sept-19 17:17:32

Afternoon all !

Its been a glorious day here , we spent the morning walking in the forest, it was just too nice to be indoors.

Your husband sounds like mine Susan he thinks with his stomach!!

Sorry to hear you're so weary Draonfly but I think soop is the voice of experience. If you think you're getting a cold its probably because you're run down. Can you top yourself up with some extra vitamin C? And why not treat yourself to some nice food to bolster you up?

Sorry your back is bad Lins , nothing much worse than that.

Many congratulations on achieving your golden wedding anniversary GrannieQ that is something !! I hope you enjoyed it . Lovely pictures as always .

All seems very quiet here , maybe we are still recovering from our daughters 40th but never fear young Stevie will be 10 next weekend and we will be making the trek down to help him celebrate. I'm still quietly chuckling at his comment at his Mums party. Looking on as the cake ablaze with 40 candles arrived he told the assembled party goers, You know you're getting old when the candles must have cost more than your cake'!! I'm not sure he'll make 10 thinking about it !!

soop Fri 13-Sept-19 17:06:08

It has been a beautiful day here in Kintyre. MacSporran was about to take a wee mouse (caught in the humane trap in the shed) along the road, in the car, in order to release it on foreign soil. Then, he came indoors and said...I was mistaken, it is a vole. I've taken it to the area in the shrubbery to join the rest of the clan. Sweet!

Well now! Drum roll...MacSporran has treated us to a smart soft-closing lavvy seat. I need to get out more. I'm chuffed. About to test it for comfort.

Enjoy your Friday evening. Thank you for your company. TOYA smile moon

soop Fri 13-Sept-19 16:52:41

Susan56 Your husband's comment made me nod and grin.
Charleyg Has it been sorted?

Susan56 Fri 13-Sept-19 15:03:00

A beautiful day here.Did our first school drop off for Matilda, she is loving school but is so tired she fell asleep in the car on the way there today.
Congratulations to grannyg and grannyq and their respective husbands on their wedding anniversaries??
My husband received the date today for his operation to improve the use of his hand after his car accident,29th October. His first statement,we need to think about what food I will be able to manage with one hand during my recovery??
Lins, dragonfly I hope you both feel better very soon.
Charleygirl,I hope your stairlift is sorted soon.
Soop,hope the painting goes well??‍?
The kitchen is such a busy place,I am away for a day and so much to catch up on.TOYA

soop Fri 13-Sept-19 14:19:54

Care home visit, Tesco shop, feeding of felines...all accomplished. Lovely weather. A painting ready and waiting for my attention.

I shall return later.

soop Fri 13-Sept-19 14:18:03

A special (((group hug))) for Mr Carillion

dragonfly The fatigue you are experiencing is your body's way of telling you to take life at a very gentle pace. I had to go to my bed every afternoon for the first six weeks. It does pass. It will take longer than you imagine. Your body has suffered a major assault. Be extra kind to yourself. flowers sunshine

Lins1066 I sympathise with you. Long ago, when I was working as a rep, I leaned into the back of my car to grab a folder...the pain was instant and floored me for several days. A chiropracter sorted it over two sessions. It was bloody awful whilst it lasted.
Easy does it. x

soop Fri 13-Sept-19 14:07:56

Hearty congratulations to granniequeenie and her dear one, (lovely photos), together with the GrannieGravies and every one of you with something special to celebrate.

Nannytopsy Your photograph is a very atmospheric.

Maw You did well. I'm pleased that you stepped beyong your comfort zone. The experience will have boosted your confidence. I agree that, there really is no place like home. Especially when a cat will be eager for your return.

tanith You deserve a tip-top brownie point.

Charliegirl, you, my dear girl, deserve several huge (((hugs))).

Greyduster...the ham sandwich and single malt was well deserved. Do you have a favourite malt? MacSporran has several. wink

Do any of you lot believe that advert featuring a multitude of folk crawling through mud and gore and, after throwing their clobber into the wash, are wearing the whitest of whites and self-satisfied grins the next day? I don't!

dragonfly46 Fri 13-Sept-19 13:09:22

Many congratulations GrannyG hope you have a lovely day.

Carillion I hope this means your DH's op is being brought forward.

Anneliese and Panache you are often in my thoughts flowers

and Lins I hope you feel better soon.

I was hoping to go out for a meal (pie night) tonight with friends but I have to go to the hospital at 2 to get my seroma drained. I find I can only do one thing a day at the moment. I am so tired and now I think I am getting a cold - the first in 3 years!
So sorry for the moan!

Lins1066 Fri 13-Sept-19 12:58:53

Belated Golden Wedding Anniversary to Grannyqueenie and Mr Q and a Happy Anniversary to Grannygravy and her husband.
Nannytopsy that is a really Autumnal view, talk about the ' season of mist and mellow fruitfulness'. Glad that you,Maw and all those on or returning from holiday have had a good time.

Anneliese have you tried a Vanish soap bar and cold water to get rid of the bolognese stain?

I am feeling sorry for myself, I have muscular pains in my lower back. They were so bad yesterday that DH drove me to A&E, getting in and out of the car was a real palaver. We didn't wait long to be fair and the young doctor was very thorough. I believed this happened as a result of me cutting my toenails the day before yesterday and the pain got steadily worse. I am currently in bed and taking ibuprofen, so far no improvement. Sorry for the moan.
The A&E was very busy considering it was late afternoon. I had to have a pelvic scan, before which the nurse asked if I wanted to know if it was a boy or a girl! I replied that I didn't mind as I already had one of each!! Before this I had to visit the loo, but was prevented from doing so for a while as a young man started 'kicking off' as the nurse wouldn't phone for a taxi for him. His language was foul and he started banging his head on the wall. Security was swiftly called. Both the nurse and the doctor apologised to us for his language and behaviour, which was both lovely of them and unnecessary. I told them that I felt awful that they had to put up with that sort of behaviour, and they said it was a daily occurrence, how very sad. Our DIL is a doctor and so we hear of all sorts from her, but to experience it at first hand was upsetting.

I am glad that you enjoyed your Chinese meal Panache. I am not very good using chopsticks, though the rest of the family are very good. I clearly need more practice.
Well done tanith I'm impressed with your car skills.
I'm sorry you are having such trouble with your chairlift Charleygirl and I think a discount is in order.

Have a good afternoon everyone and best wishes and hugs to all suffering bother and buggeration.

cornergran Fri 13-Sept-19 12:48:02

Many congratulations to mr and mrs grannyg. Good to celebrate with Kitcheners.

Blimey charley, how incompetent can one company be? Please be careful on the stairs. Delighted the fridge freezer arrived without incident. Relax for a bit now.

Welcome home for later maw, you’ve sounded delighted with your holiday I’m so pleased for you.

Sunshine here too. Mr C navigated audiology in record time this morning. Did the errands on the way back so a relaxed afternoon ahead here,

TOYA. Be good everyone r.

Carillion01 Fri 13-Sept-19 12:15:29

DH is smiling but I know he'd rather be at home this afternoon watching the cricket at the oval.??

Carillion01 Fri 13-Sept-19 12:13:52

Just a flying visit today but didn't want to miss saying happy anniversaries to Gq and Gg13 and their DH's. Hope you enjoy this lovely celebration.??????

Annelise and Panache, thinking of you very much.
To all of you other kind kitcheners, TOYA and especially dear soop.

Bit of a dash to St Brieuc after a phone call late yesterday saying a cancellation meant DH could meet his consultant this afternoon instead of mid-Oct. The orthopaedic consultant he sees looks to be about 20 years old! but he's a lovely man.

annsixty Fri 13-Sept-19 12:08:52

Just to agree with anno about the beautiful day here.
It is sunny and really warm.
I am willing the washer to to finish quickly so I can get stuff on the line.
Have the best day you can.
