Hello panache I have been feeling that low feeling for a while now. It horrid to wake in the morning with stomach churning and mind on full panic mode. It always amazes me how one can go from being completely asleep to anxiety in what seems a fraction of a second. I shall have to take myself in hand I’ve been letting my emotions get the better of me recently and it doesn’t do me any good. I hope some more sleep does Mr P some good. No point in me trying to tell you not to worry - I should practice what I preach ?. I can’t tell you how glad I am that you two are now in your lovely new home and to know that you are safe with help close at hand is comforting. Take care of yourself and your DH. Sleep well x

Must not blot my own copy book so will just pop my head around the kitchen door at what is alm ost a late hour for me.

Thanks for thinking of my dear man Izabella, indeed he has me more than a little concerned for today again he has this very blanche face and has absolutely no "get up and go," although at least I was pleased he slept well.It looks as though a few more real rest days are in order.
Just having him in bed.... only a few steps from our sitting room ....has me feeling lost and lonely, whilst of course it has meant I have been thinking the unthinkable, and allowing in thoughts that are best not allowed just yet.But after all,we are but humans.

To add to this low feeling, we not only had a death here on thursday evening, but it was on our floor and just 2 flats away.I had been having quite a little chat with the dear lady only a day earlier.Of course it is going to happen, but it certainly hit me whilst feeling a tad raw.

We have had glorious days of warmth and sunshine but the weather appears to be changing this evening, and rain has been forecast. We cannot grumble at all, summer seems to have been going forever.

Wishing you all a peaceful evening,TOYA xx

Izabella Wow! I am impressed. Us lot are impressed. Any cake waiting to be sampled? We all deserve a wedge so that we can celebrate.

N&G Please note above message. A birthday cake will do very nicely. Have yourselves a special happy time with the birthday boy. Wish I could join in the capers you'll be getting up to.

The painting of second son's two cats is looking very promising. I shall have it framed for his birthday.

A wonderful sunny day - if a breezy one. I am ready to sit down and read the paper and enjoy a brew. Alas, no cupcake in our cupboard. shock

TOYA. I have every intention of returning to our kitchen tomorrow. smile moon

Nannyfaraway Good to have you visit. Well done and keep up the good work. sunshine

N&G Those glass art installations are amazing. I would have loved seeing them.

Izabella Lucky you! The Repair Shop is probably our top favourite programme. Everything about it is is inspirational. I truly admire the variety of skills and impeccable workmanship.

We have attended the remembrance service for a very dear gentleman who recently died from pancreatic cancer. It was moving but also an extremely "upbeat" gathering. Some of his ashes are to be scattered from the ferry between Tayinloan and Gigha.

A beautiful, bright, sunny day in bonnie Kintyre.

Nannyfaraway Sat 21-Sept-19 11:17:24

Good morning everyone. Sorry I've been away so long. Been busy with starting college. Enjoying the course but hard to get back to studying at the age of 62. Saying that I gave managed to submit my first essay
I see some lovely photos from some of you. I"'ll try and catch up with all the news and pop back later.

Evening all!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Downtown Abbey movie yesterday . Today we spent the morning walking round the Millennium Garden at Pensthorpe where they have a new glass art installation . I’ve added a couple of pictures. I loved the sculptures but the prices were eye watering lol!

Lovely photos soop , do you ever try painting your view?

I hope our travels go better than my baking today GrannieQ ! It was one of those days, one half of my Victoria sponge burnt and the other sunk! I had to redo the whole darn thing. I hope it travels well !

I shall catch up after the party !

marydoll thank you I have changed my settings. ?

soop Fri 20-Sept-19 17:22:51

Thank you, Marydoll. I always enjoy a visit from you.

soop Fri 20-Sept-19 17:21:53

Doodle Have you asked GN HQ? It shouldn't be that difficult to reinstate your private message box. smile

I have been painting all afternoon. My middle son has two cats - Dylan and Alfie. I have received a good photo from which to work. Then, a lady in the village has an elderly cat - Poppy. I would like to give her a painting as she's a very kind soul.

Care home visit was a trifle sad. Although our pal has several family members who could lift the phone from time to time, they appear to be fartoo busy. We mentioned this to one of the staff. We're hoping that a word coming from her will chivvy things up. He does have a lovely brother. He visits from Edinburgh from time to time. It wouldn't hurt for the others to spare a few minutes each week talking on the phone.

It has been a glorious day. Tomorrow we are to attend a service of remembrance for a dear local gentleman who recently died from pancreatic cancer. Some of his ashes are to be scattered from the ferry between Tayinloan and Gigha.

I shall log off and empty the washing machine. I could have done so hours ago. It just didn't seem to be that important. wink

TOYA. smile moon

grannyqueenie it’s so kind of you to think of me. I did turn PM off a while ago as I had some strange emails. Just been to see if I could turn it on but can’t find out how. Can anyone help?

soop Fri 20-Sept-19 14:26:51

Oh, thank goodness for Kitcheners like our Panache. You are a marvel. Every visitor to the kitchen gets a mention. That deserves a gold star. flowers

It's been a bithee, bithee morning. At last, I'm able to stroll in to attempt to catch up. hmm

Some more lovely photos. I have three to share with you lot, and then I must return to the easel. I shall return later. sunshine

The colony of cormorants always share their wee rock with a single gull. I managed to take a photo on our way home.

Panache Fri 20-Sept-19 11:07:19

Just showing my face as I know full well if I don`t and leave you for a full day or two.........I shall be playing catch up......big time!!

Beautiful weather continues, though sadly it will be a very quiet day for us.Plans to collect my new specs etc have been put on hold, as my dear one suffered a very distressed and painful night, thus leaving him too weak to do very much today. In fact I would be happier should he stay resting in bed but I think he may well over rule me later.Obviously the cancer treatment is now taking a firm grip, with the aftermath of each session making him feel so very weak and vulnerable. We have long learned to live "one day at a time" with my own health issues, now of course even more so.

However on a brighter note, our last armchair,a second thought as it were! is arriving next week so we can now start inviting in more than a couple!

Trusting your Hospital appointments go well Susan.......they have a habit of ruling our lives!

More excitement here, the fire alarm.........again.......so I shall hastily wish you all a good weekend TOYAXX

Susan56 Fri 20-Sept-19 07:39:34

A quick early morning visit while Matilda is watching Peppa pig to say TOYA.Things are hectic with hospital appointments for both DD’s and my husband. Will try and catch up with kitchen news over the weekend, think I will need to make notes.

grannyqueenie Thu 19-Sept-19 22:54:44

Evening all! This week seems to have has gained its own momentum as it’s gone on, feeling at times that it’s been running away with me. However thankfully most jobs have somehow got done in the midst of it all. Friends arriving tomorrow for the weekend, they’re a couple who do nothing quickly so hopefully it’ll give me a chance to catch my breath! But before that a flu jab, some shopping and cooking need to be done - tomorrow morning that is, not tonight I hasten to add!

That looks like a lovely place to spend a quiet few hours, greyduster, I’m glad you enjoyed it despite being outwitted by one of your fish! Organising youngsters of that age can feel like herding cats! morethan you can breathe again, your family are fortunate to have you supporting and loving them all through these hard times.

It was a beautiful day here, it was a pleasure to be in the garden hanging out washing. Needless to say I fitted in a spot of dead heading and general pottering while I was out there, I can never resist!

Wishing you safe travels synonymous, as you say it’s unfortunate that appointments can be timed to coincide. But you do seem to make very sensible plans to make these long journeys manageable for you both. Hoping your travels go smoothly too n&g and the celebrations will be lots of fun I’m sure. It’s a shame that in time our youngsters grow up and lose some of that sense of magic. I’ve often, rather selfishly, wished I could just “freeze” them at certain particularly winsome stages!

doodle I hope you’re feeling more relaxed amidst the family worries you’re having. I did try to pm you with something that I thought might be helpful (that wasn’t really appropriate for here) but that wasn’t possible. Please know I’m thinking of you in these concerns that you have x

Well the old boy has headed off to bed and I should follow if I’m to get to that walk in flu jab session in good time tomorrow! Sleep well kitchen friends, as always toya x

synonymous thank you so much for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Greyduster Thu 19-Sept-19 18:35:34

Hello the kitchen. Haven’t had a lot of time to look in, but I did see the messages from Morethan. I’m glad there is another avenue that can be explored. We must always believe that there is hope.?

Synonymous I think I have grown dahlias in almost all the houses we have lived in, even abroad where conditions would allow. I like that they are easy to grow from seed, but I have never had a lot of luck storing them over the winter.

Soop your talent shines through once again with the portraits of Wilma! How is the cat coming along?

N&G your lovely GC can always rely on you for a little touch of magic - they don’t need a Harry Potter! I hope Stevie has a wizard birthday!?

I had half a day fishing today and caught two and a half good fish! The half? I got him to the bank, bent down to pick up my net and he threw the hook and was off! I always let them go anyway, but he just pre-empted it! Conditions were perfect today and once again I had the place almost to myself. Now we are at DD’s childminding GS who has just gone off to football training, so we have an hour’s peace and quiet before we pick him up. Getting him ready to go was like herding cats! He has no sense of urgency even when his friend’s dad is sitting outside with the engine running! I will leave you with a couple of photos of my playground today!
