Fun question - when did you realise you were getting older?

When I took a prescription to the pharmacy and the assistant didn't ask for payment - just ticked the 'over 60' box!

Its all in your head,I dont feel old .I tell my friends I have no intention of being old.Theres nothing I stopped doing or wearing because of age .

Don't feel old at all but the calendar and society tries to insist. However, I did find having a 50 year old son somewhat salutary.

When we had snow I was walking back from the shop where there were some teenagers throwing snowballs at each other.as I passed them, one of them said to the others " wait till the old lady goes past" I felt like lobbing a massive snowball at them! I'm 57! Cheeky gits ???

I don't think I realised I was 'getting old', as all the changes were gradual. I just realised I had got there, while thinking of other things.
I felt much older when I hit seventy ( or seventy hit me). Sixty had seemed quite a joke.
And in six months I shall be eighty! How did that happen?

When I was given an appointment at Care of the Elderly (only 65 fgs).

When I realised I am the oldest person who works in our team, and the younger ones, offer help, not that I need it. Also when people started calling me dear. Hate it. ?

When I was having my eyebrows waxed & the young girl asked if I wanted my top lip done! Say what? ?

Probably since I was about 50 after the menopause though
I felt free no more heavy periods or terrible stomach pains.
I take life as it comes and thank goodness for my health.
Age is just a number to me. My one heartache is my son died 11 years ago we are not supposed to out live our children are we.

When a very polite woman offered me a seat on the bus, and to me she looked to be older than me !!
and recently a woman on a department store make up counter told me I should try skin care products for a mature skin , I was only buying perfume at the time, it shocked me that much I had to stop for a coffee and cake to cheer me up, well that's my excuse for a huge cake and I'm sticking too it

When I realised all young girls look the same - those strange caterpillar eyebrows, dark frame glasses, pouty lips and long straight hair.

And when I realise I don't recognise half the music on Radio 2, never mind Radio 1. And what's more, don't care that I don't!

I was only in my 40s looking for a new outfit and the assistant brought across some "old lady clothes"
Made of crimplene probably. When I tried to politely decline she said her mother would love them.

Yesterday when consultant said I needed hip replacement!

A couple of years ago when my grandaughter pinched up the skin on the back of my hand and said "Is that because you are old Grannie?" !

Bit like Teetime when I saw this grey haired 'person of mature years ' reflected in a shop window.
When my daughter reached her 50th birthday.

When I got my bus pass----thinking to myself " I don't need one of those !" As I was still skipping around like a two year old.

When I realised I kept groaning while doing something physical. I think many people don't notice that they are doing it, but older people do groan. I notice that my neighbour does it as he walks up the stairs, and he's younger than me.
