Panty liner talk reminds me of a friend. She had a dishy new neighbour move in next door and after getting chatting she lent him a book she thought he'd like.

A couple of weeks later he returned the book, thanked her and added 'I looked after your book mark for you.' She was most confused and opened the book, only to find a panty liner (unused!!!) sitting neatly inside.

She claims she didn't go out again for about a year.

I've often put my panties in the washing machine, with the pantiliner still in them. When I told my friend this, she said, she often does the same and reuses the freshly laundered panty plus liner........ she's known for her frugality ?

Aaah pants in trousers- I once had a very quiet but quite strongly expressed confrontation with a manager who was a known bully. I felt I had put my case well, turned and walked to the coffee machine, only to feel a pair of pants sliding down a leg of my trousers. I picked them up, twirled them round, and put them in my pocket.

On the matter of tissue wash....don't forget the tissue under the pillow!

On our local site the moans and groans about the ‘dying’ town are abundant Last week a couple of new big stores opened slightly out of town, and then they all moaned in streams about the traffic being heavy

Yorkshiregirl, yes there is a bit of moaning here! But sometimes it is easier to moan anonymously (is that how it's spelled?) than to complain to friend and family that may not really listen.

But to have balance with a few laughs and trivial posts is good! I had a good laugh last week when someone started a 'moaning' post.. it was quite comical.

And on the lighter side Lisagran I love your flower arrangements. How lovely to bring a little of the outdoors in.

My daughter got changed into jeans to go out for a drink with her colleagues after work. As she walked to the bar, last night's pants fell out of the bottom of the jeans! While she was trying to pretend they had nothing to do with her, one of the men picked them up and balanced them on a beer bottle where they remained for the evening!

I stayed in a hotel last week where the duvet covers had zips. I've also stayed in places where there are small gaps at the side of the top corners so you can put in your hands and grab the duvet to shake it into place.

Wrt closing the duvet before washing, I didn't consciously wash my dd's wedding veil!

My granddaughter told me recently that her mum had tidied her own room and the only thing out of place were “two thongs, thrown on the floor”! ?

grandtante I struggle to undo and do up the buttons on my duvet covers. I know it makes sense to fasten them before washing but ICBA

Why don't they make them with zips ?

I sprayed my hair with fly spray under the impression it was hair spray. Last time I'll fiddle with somebody else's toiletries.
Mind you, the insects didn't come near me.

Fasten your duvet covers before washing them. I didn't for years, but now that I do other pieces of washing don't get inside them!

I too am relatively new, and whilst I find a lot of threads funny and lighthearted, I also feel that if I met some of the contributors in “real life” I’d run a mile

I agree with all your responses. Some very upset and distressed people post who really do not deserve to be put down, but would appreciate a kind word. Kindness costs nothing.?

I only recently joined Gransnet and agree that some of the comments can be petty and unkind. Some people don't even respond to the subject matter because they are to busy finding fault with the way the person has expressed themselves rather than understanding the issues raised. Yes let's lighten up and enjoy what Gransnet has to offer.
