feel under so much stress that you feel like you are drowning?
Can't elaborate..would be typing for 48hours.....just..do you? how do you cope with it?...
Thank you GabriellaG54 ??
Nanna58 you had me in stitches ! I think pi$$ works better than po$$ ! I was loving your honesty ! It made me realise how difficult it is to find time to powder my nose with family demands.
So sorry that you are feeling so stressed and know exactly how you feel. When I could still walk I would want to step into the traffic or now open the car door as we go along.
Have often self harmed as well, last time was last week.
Told to do relaxation techniques but they got me more tense and I was told not to go back.
Really hope that you do find a way of coping xx
Farview - so sorry you are going through a difficult time. I do wish you well.
When life puts you in tough situations, don't say 'why me?", say, "Try me!"
Or in my case don't say 'why me?" say "Why NOT?"
I’m sorry to read you’re feeling so stressed farview. Sending you a great big hug ?.
Others have already provided lots of good advice, many of which I use, but also what I always find helpful, if it’s possible, is getting out for a walk - helps me to be more grounded. I have a favourite walk where I hug a big old tree and have a few words.
I will remember your advice FC61 Thank you.
this is why I love this and need it..kisses to you all and hugs
You can shift the focus by doing something new. A course, some volunteering or a walking group etc. You may well think that you don't have the time or energy but just try it. Anything that takes you away from the stressful situations for a while will give you perspective and better coping skills.
People mention 'suffering' from stress but you chose just how much to take on. Don't just comply with other's expectations. Don't always do the conventional 'right' thing. Admit that you cannot do it all and ask for help to cut down your commitments. The first, essential part of helping others is to take very good care of yourself - physically and mentally. Taking on too much never works in the long term as you will perform badly and make yourself ill.

What a perfect way to deal with things. I can't say more. ?
farview - please try to find a bit of alone time and just breathe. That sounds daft because that's what we do, but if you can find time to do nothing but relax (by telling yourself "I'll think about it later" - and do not allow your cares and worries into your thoughts for ten minutes or so) it does help slightly.
Worry, anxiety and stress made me very ill and changed my life forever, so please find time to switch off every now and then if you possibly can.
Worry solves nothing, too much stress makes you ill. All the advice you have been given so far is very good. Please look after yourself. Most things do have a way of working themselves out and time often eases problems. I hope life becomes easier for you soon.
Merseybelle2, what a beautiful post to send to a "friend" in need. Bless you, and wish you lived down here in Exeter.......
Lots of good advice nothing to add really hope some of suggestions help ????
Farview
This too shall pass.....
If you ever want to just pour it all out, I can highly recommend calling or emailing Samaritans. They are there 24/7 to listen to what ever it is that’s troubling you. It is free and completely confidential. You won’t be judged and they don’t advise, they are just there to help you untangle your thoughts.

Yes, and sometimes it's the silly little things which can push you over. I remind myself that it's only temporary and try to talk about it to someone if possible. My sympathies, OP.
..Oh I'm overwhelmed by all your responses...have jotted down notes from probably all of them... at the moment tears streaming down my face..from the caring replies/advice..and knowing that other people have come out of it on a better side.. just so much stress over so many things...as I said it would take hours to explain...but I do believe that I will be okay...we must believe that eh? Not normally a wuss.. weeping like this... thanking every single one of you xx
Yes, it's hard, and my only advice is to take not one day at a time, but take a few minutes for yourself. The urge to fill every moment is very strong, but taking time out sometimes gives us perspective and physically putting yourself one step away gives you the chance to reassess the situation and maybe pinpoint the cause of the stress and see if you can somehow diminish/eradicate it.
Hilarious error Nanna58
I'm in hysterics!
I was so stressed it caused a stroke. So now I walk away from stressful situations. I advise others to do the same
Yes farview, over many years and this year it is one thing after another. Mainly family illnesses, problems, deaths, just nothing going right and a certain person that has given me years of stress. That person I have cut out of my life.
I have always been a yes person but have finally learned that It's ok to say no. Sometimes we take on too much out of kindness when we are already stressed but we need to look after ourselves too. Be kind to yourself. Make some time for yourself and not feel guilty for doing so.
Write down all the negatives in your life and try to solve them and write all the positives.
If a person is getting you down, write a letter telling them just what you'd like to say and how you're feeling. Just as you would if you were talking to them, and then rip it up. Just get it off your chest so to speak. If people are causing you grief, it's ok to cut them out of your life without explanation.
Some situations we have to learn to accept and live with, and we do. Life WILL get better believe me. Life's full of ups and downs, happy times and disappointments but we get through it. Life can often be a battle and we wonder' why me.' 'What have I done to deserve all this. The answer is nothing.
You, like me will come out of this a stronger person. You'll be proud of yourself for getting through this.
When life puts you in tough situations, don't say 'why me?", say, "Try me!"
Big hugs,
Ooh you naughty spellcheck - eat as well as POSS ! ?
All sympathy to everyone who is suffering from huge amounts of stress. I sometimes feel like my head will explode, dealing with mother with dementia end husband just referred to hosp with same. I try to eat as well as piss and get enough sleep, not always easy. Find if I can get into a really good book it ‘ takes me elsewhere ‘ for a short while. Failing that I also recommend beating up a pillow, gives a little relief!
Yes I know just how you feel. Earlier this year I an ulcer from the stress years of it, just one thing after another and fairly major incidents.
I got through it by taking one day at a time. The day was spent doing something I enjoyed, needlework with a group, cycling or just a day out. Trying to take my mind away from the impossible problems.
I am pleased to say that now I am, as they say, in a good place. I do relaxation each day by sitting and doing breathing exercises and then a bit of simple yoga.
I tried the talking to friends, but ended up hearing their problems which I didn't really want to hear. Bit selfish but there you are. In time it will pass or at least get better. Just take one step at a time and one day at a time. I wish you well
Sympathy and thoughts to all suffering like this
.
There is much sound advice above for sufferers to sift through to find their own coping strategies. I would add to these: If at all possible, pick just one thing causing stress and try to sort just that one. It might help you to see that these stresses can and will eventually become resolved, one way or another.
