A happy thread (to counteract the moaning one).

Here in (mostly) sunny Brighton slurping a huge ice-cream and looking forward to a fish n chip supper after browsing the shops, walking on the prom and beach, and taking some hopefully interesting photos.
I'm just off to meet a journalist friend (who lives in Hove) by the restored lift which may be a photo op.

My beloved granddaughter has passed her driving test at last! Perhaps this should be on the moaning thread as I’m paying for it and now I’ll worry myself silly when she’s driving alone!

Congratulations to your GD Merlot yours too Pantglas I worry far more about DGSs driving than I ever did about their parents.
My happy news is a baby DGD for my long standing neighbour.
After numerous miscarriages and a difficult pregnancy this time, Dorothy Mary was born by emergency c.section five weeks early.
Both doing well now and one very excited granny.

OMG. The day is getting better and better. DGD1 (elder sister) has just messaged to say she has landed her dream job at Pinewood Studios. She's a qualified make-up artist and there was a LOT of competition.

Exciting times for them both.

From the sublime to the ridiculous: my podiatrist, Sione, says he'll see me every 3 months rather than 4 - at no extra charge.
As I get my footcare free anyway, that brightened my day.

A visit to the seaside yesterday with my wee granddaughter. A tonic to counteract all my ailments.

Simple joys today: being alone and getting on with my knitting whilst listening to a Western/cowboy audio book.

Enjoying Butternut and mascarpone soup for lunch.

Getting some laundry dry (despite lots of rain) on my deck.

Spending time on Granset.
Eating a hearty salad for tea.
Looking forward to a similarly solitary day tomorrow.

Snuggling down into a warm bed, aware that so many are denied that privilege.

We are happy this afternoon, as we have just paid a deposit on a new car.

A lovely relaxing day today for me, after a solid week of being with DGC .....good fun but hard work.
Stayed in pj’s until 10 a.m ( late for me!) read a book, visited a garden centre, and had a meal cooked by DH.Bliss.?

Had a lovely family and friends picnic in local park. Earlier this week it looked like it wasn't going to happen because of the threat of rain but forecast was good for today so we went for it.

Well Glammy57 I wasn’t going to mention it after last week’s debacle ....

Been busy on canteen duties for DH and DGS while they built new beds in new home for DDs family and sun is setting over Anglesey so I’ve opened a bottle of Chardonnay/semillon - life is good at the moment and long may it remain so.

Well my happy story is that it hasn’t rained here today and I’ve managed to get loads of jobs done in the garden . Painted my bench seat and my little table and managed to get half the fence done too . Stopped only briefly for a delicious bacon, rocket, tomato and mayo toasted sandwich . I will finish the fence tomorrow, fingers crossed. Won’t be going anywhere as there is someone coming to collect my greenhouse . I shall be sad to see it go .

I feel happy when I have had a productive weekend . Just sent DH out for a takeaway as I’m shattered . I hope he finds a stray bottle of wine too .

Just back from an enjoyable day trip to St Andrew's. It's not often DH and I find time to enjoy each other's company!
Good company, good food, successful shopping and someone else was doing the driving!

Alexa how lovely. My son used to have a German Shepherd called Zeus; such an affectionate dog.

Lovely quiet day today. NO children or grandchildren. `just me, husband and dog.

We had a lovely lunch and then a wander down to the woods with the wee beast.

Very pleasant all round and a happy tired dog .

Just caught up with Deep Water. Watched it all. To be honest I don't really know what it was all about. Very odd but vaguely watchable

Auntieflo I just try to fit in as much as I possibly can, on those precious, rare, dry and sunny weekend days we have here in the NE. I feel contented that I got lots done today and hopefully will get finished tomorrow if the weather is kind ?
