A happy thread (to counteract the moaning one).

It probably won't be as popular, but let us hear about good things that have happened too.

Yesterday I was given a huge bunch of flowers just because I did a couple of loads of washing for my neighbour while her new kitchen was being fitted.

My garden is a picture, best yet I think.

Anniebach, that’s such good news for you.

Luckygirl Mon 05-Aug-19 12:35:00

The sweet peas are going crazy - hooray!

Anniebach Mon 05-Aug-19 12:31:52

I do Gilly , I accept they have their own lives to live but after seeing her almost every day for 22 years I missed her when she moved to Cornwall a year ago. Haven’t seen her since March , she said she will be calling to see me every couple of weeks now she will be back in Wales ?,

gillybob Mon 05-Aug-19 12:16:27

That's wonderful news Anniebach I bet you feel like jumping for joy !

My elder granddaughter has the tenancy of a lovely house on the Welsh coast, she is coming home from Cornwall ?

I have found my lost lipstick, thank you to St Anthony and Merseybelle2, for the tip.

Riverwalk Sun 04-Aug-19 10:35:26

I was up and out at 7 this morning for a 90-minute brisk walk - almost had the streets and river to myself.

Eaten a big breakfast, a friend coming for lunch roastchicken followed by a mooch around Peter Jones.

Sunday's looking good! smile

Between us dh and I had 6 PB wins! So that was 6 times of thinking it could be a whopper and it not being! grin

I haven’t won anything yet but only started buying bonds every month in January so hoping all your good luck rubs off on me!

I’ve booked for my daughter and me to see Mousetrap at our local theatre later this month - always wanted to see it in London but never happened. I’ve warned her not to do any snooping on tinternet about the ending!

DanniRae Sun 04-Aug-19 09:44:36

I won on Ernie too this month. Have checked because I can't wait to see how much - yep £25 (x3)!!!!!! grin

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Aug-19 08:05:34

I won on Ernie twice two months in a row. I know this because I get emails to say I won. I haven’t yet opened the emails as I am pretending I have won a million instead of the usual £25!

The next door neighbours brought me a very large bag of plums and apples. The irony is I have an allotment with fruit trees with a very small crop and the people next door aren't gardeners at all!

Urmstongran the smalls

I hope you remember, when you don't have the little ones with you, never to tell anyone, "I came out without my smalls".

Little DGS (7 1/2) played for Birmingham City Academy today - playing against 2 under 9 teams too and loved it!

I'm on holiday with my family. Having a lovely time playing with my GC of 2 & 5 and getting to know them when they're relaxed. I'm blessed, despite being a recent widow. smile

I have had a lovely day, hairdressers this morning, a small village salon which is always a sociable way to spend an hour. Then to the library which is one of my favourite places to visit, simple pleasures I know.
This afternoon my oldest and closest friend visited and we had a lovely catch up out in the garden.
Having checked that the wind was blowing in the right direction (away from houses) I have just lit a bonfire, I do love a bonfire grin

Day6 Sat 03-Aug-19 18:21:41

I won £4.50 on the lottery earlier this week but have only just discovered the fact. So, earlier this afternoon I spent it (on line) and had two lucky dips - one on the Euro Millions and one on tonight's draw. Money down the drain I suppose, but if I vanish suddenly next week it's because I am a millionaire. grin

I have a huge jug of massive sunflower heads on the grate, (each head is the size of a dinner plate - almost!) given to me by one of my daughters as they are off on holiday tomorrow and she won't be able to enjoy the gift of flowers she was given. I also got a line of white washing dry in the lovely sunshine this afternoon! Why is it so satisfying to see clothes drying on the line? That one is a mystery to me.

OH in the room next door tells me my football team are winning, as are his (first game of the season) and we have a Marks and Spencers' Meal Deal to enjoy tonight, with wine, so not much cooking involved.

Hurrah I just caught up with my emails and have also won £25 (I also reinvest)
Just back from a short break having taken our grandchildren away for a couple of days. They are already planning next year!! Glad they still want to do it smile

What a great thread shysal.......Thank You x

Charleygirl5 Sat 03-Aug-19 17:51:44

Welcome Juno how rude of me!

I forgot to mention I won £25 from my premium bonds. A few thousand short of what I was hoping for but every little count. Mine go back in with the other bonds I have.

Juno56 Sat 03-Aug-19 17:41:06

Thank for the welcome. What a lovely thread, so nice to read of people's plans and pleasures. I had a good day with my 'boy'.
Shysalthank you for the warning, I am a Christian and do have views about politics and our new 'leader' but have no intention of sharing either wink.

The sun is shining, DS1 has been texting me, telling me what a lovely weekend he's having in Leeds and Buxton... I've been feeding the cat, fish and guinea pigs grin.

Going out this evening, with a friend, to see a local group play at a pub.

Seeing DS2 tomorrow, for a meal out in the evening (Japanese or Indian, not sure which yet)

Charleygirl5 Sat 03-Aug-19 16:41:16

Esther have you got a spare week please?!

It has been a lovely day here today and I have done just what I wanted which seems to be washing and more washing but it is something I enjoy.

Meeting friends for coffee or lunch most days next week so I am looking forward to that.

tiredoldwoman Sat 03-Aug-19 16:34:53

Just back from the beach with my grandson , so far today we've done a vintage car rally, a farmers market and the beach . Tomorrow it's car boot sale then in the afternoon ( before the rains come ) a brass band concert - all this being done on the cheap ! He's cooking the tea right now - pizza !
Happy, happy day !

Esther1 Sat 03-Aug-19 16:22:11

Love having son’s family live with us while their own home is being renovated - but goodness me they are messy! They are away for a few days and I have defrosted freezer/cleaned cupboards/tidied toys/mopped floors ...... oh boy does it feel good!
