A happy thread (to counteract the moaning one).

What a lovely thread. So happy for all you happy people.

On Saturday my husband sweetly volunteered to drive me a couple of hours each way to an event he didn't want to attend, as I was not able to go otherwise.

I had such a lovely day I am still buzzing!

How lovely Marydoll and wine does keep.....!

And Anniebach, it seems apt that the Eisteddfod is on this week and they sing ‘ Unwaith eto yng Nghymru anwyl’ for Welsh people who live away from home!

Well Mary, that's a first I would think for a bank. I would not only put that news on this thread I would publish it in your local paper . Never ever heard of that before but well done to you for being so nice .

My good news is that my cousin's daughter just got her higher results and she got 1 x A 2 x B - she's off to do her chosen subject at Dundee uni. I am so pleased for her.

I am happy because for the 4th day running I don't have to cook tonight!
Saturday........my husband always cooks
Sunday..........our eldest daughter invited us to dinner
Monday........Birthday takeaway here for our son. All our family
gathered here so lovely evening
Tuesday........going to our sister-in-laws for dinner
Wednesday..apron on and back in the kitchen but can't
complain after 4 days off!

A lady from the University of Auckland came to see me today to ask about the psychological and physical effects of losing personal transport. They are doing a major project on aging in the community.

She wanted to know, amongst many other things, what I did to counteract these effects. And how I felt things could or should be changed to help others in my position.

She arrived at 1.30 and left just after 4pm and I think we laughed the whole time.
She was from Lancashire, bless her.

A happy afternoon which went a long way to counteracting my sad weekend.

I’ve just walked to our local newsagents-like most days-to buy a morning paper. Lovely sunshine, folks going about their business, saying “good morning” as we pass. Am so grateful for such peace. . .aren’t we blessed? Despite all this Brexit fandango we have no wars here.

I haven't happy news only fair to middlin' today.

Spent the forenoon at friends, who had asked if DH could fix their trailer's lights, which he could and did along with the husband of my friend.

She and I and a granddaughter of hers had a great time talking, playing with dolls (granddaughter is 9) making and eating lunch.

Spent several happy hours pottering about in the garden - always good
Sorted out a load of old paperwork for burning
Finished the book that I was reading
Looking forward to salmon, new pots and salad for dinner

About to take my small dog to the woods for an early evening stroll.

We've been unable to go for a few days but tonight's the night.

She'll be so excited.

Went to a nearby NT house and had a walk in the woodland path up to the obelisk, followed by scone and cream in village hall!

My right thumb, on which I managed to slam the car boot door a week ago, is much better. ?

Just returned from possibly the same NT house and gardens as Camelot ( we also had a cream tea!)
Weather kept threatening to rain, but didn’t, everyone we met was full of smiles, very enjoyable.?

We went to Trenwith!
However, no sign of George, although I thought I caught a glimpse of Elizabeth disappearing into the distance.

The sun is shining and I am still glowing from a glorious day yesterday with my D and GC.

We went to my dear friends sailing club, weather was glorious, children had so much freedom and fun (if somewhat muddy and smelly)!!

Have just finished painting the 7th door.

Number of doors in my flat = 7.

Will not now kill my brother. He has found me a gardener

Sensing my misery, sitting alone in "this damned place" my DH has just telephoned and suggested we go to the pub for supper. I mean I know its just a pub supper, nothing remotely posh or exciting about it, but hey ho, its better than nowt. I'm smiling, which hard to believe I know, but I am.
