The weather is awful, it's not even August and the nights are drawing in. My husband has an irritating cough and the cat has disappeared.

Our expensive new windows, installed in June, are misting up. Awaiting visit from company to explain why and what they will do a out it!

mabon ,this was supposed to be a slightly tongue in cheek nod at life's irritations.

Miss A, I was once interviewed by a 12 year old in leopard skin leggings. An unedifying experience.

I suggest you first box on your motivation sheet should read " get to the bottom of health issue"

Just had a denture made but problem with a tooth so have had to have it out. It split in 2 and they hadn't given me enough anaesthetic so nearly went through th ceiling. Just over the 2 month NHS deadline so had to pay £65 and have another tooth added to denture. Wait 3 months for gum to completely heal and get its shape and then will have to pay £270 for the privilege of having a new denture. Since last August have literally lived at the dentist for several weeks having to go twice a week. P* off as I have always tried to look after my teeth but losing more every year ?. Oh so good to have a vent.x

Wondering if Bohemian hens have started laying yet,

Lessismore Thu 15-Aug-19 14:13:00

Do they wear little hippie dresses and crochet tops?

gillybob Thu 15-Aug-19 14:17:17

I am imagining hens wearing white Lycra catsuits, strutting around like Freddie Mercury !

All together now...…. Day.....Oh...…..Daaaaaayyyyy…….Oh grin

MissAdventure Thu 15-Aug-19 14:19:31

smile silly gilly!
Making us laugh on a moaning thread. Ha!

gillybob Thu 15-Aug-19 14:22:34

Shouldn't be allowed !

Anyway as we were..... Its grey and miserable here in the North East. I have got nothing in for supper and can't be ar*ed to go shopping after work, or even cook .

MissAdventure Thu 15-Aug-19 14:28:23

I have 2 big bags of stuff to take to the charity shop.
It means getting on the bus with them (and me with such a pain in my buttock!)
Bin or charity?
I know charity will win, but I'm just too lazy.

Lessismore Thu 15-Aug-19 14:39:55

Is there a charity which supports people with sore bums?

The Pain in the Ass Society?

Today's cafe trip with DGD - one big dog races in ahead of its owner and sticks its head in her buggy and licks her face. Five minutes later, another owner is happily letting one of her dogs climb all over the table. Yuk.

mabon - Carol the weather woman, David Tennant, Sarah Smith to name but a few.
All with "impenetrable accents"?

I believe that Maw anno marydoll and myself, to name a few more, all have very different Scottish accents but I do believe that we might just manage to make ourselves understood by anyone who isn't simply looking for yet another opportunity to criticise everything Scottish.

I had to get the bus into town today. It was absolutely jam packed with tourists many of them with huge backpacks on which they seem to forget about as they turn round to speak to their friends and whack others (me!) in the face. They get on the bus, don't know how much to pay, have a chat about who's got change, ask the poor driver where the bus is actually going and delay everyone who is just trying to get to work. To cap it all they then complain that the other passengers aren't very friendly. We're not!!

crazyH Thu 15-Aug-19 15:28:21

Glammy57 Thu 15-Aug-19 15:31:22

Glammy57 Thu 15-Aug-19 15:32:06

Oops, Proseccos!

ILE35 Thu 15-Aug-19 18:13:32

It's my birthday and I've been down with a sickness bug since yesterday. It has now hit my 2 girls.

Finally feeling a bit better this evening since the rest has been a washout I decided I'd nip out and bring back a takeaway as a birthday treat (my daughters are paying).

I've gone to leave the house and my door won't unlock so I'm now sitting waiting on an emergency joiner coming out as we are stuck in and they can't give me a timeframe.

Happy birthday to me! ?

Namsnanny Thu 15-Aug-19 19:19:36

Ile35....sorry to laugh but the joiner cant give you a time frame !! (to repair the door frame ) grin

Namsnanny Thu 15-Aug-19 19:20:30

Oops! forgot...Happy Mirthday!!

Namsnanny Thu 15-Aug-19 19:25:42

mcem….I was one of the complainants, sorry!!
No Scottish bias from me.
Love Billy Connally and David Tennant.

I can understand them though!!

crazyH Thu 15-Aug-19 19:31:38

Happy Birthday Ile35. It was my bday yesterday. Had too many Proseccos - tripped and fell on the arm of the sofa and bruised my ribs. We too had a take-away yesterday....but I paid -- hmmmm....my children should have paid?Hope your door is sorted.

Namsnanny Thu 15-Aug-19 19:52:15

Happy Birthday crazyH, poor you and your ribs!! Still you got your bruises enjoying yourself! smile

crazyH Thu 15-Aug-19 19:54:34

Thankyou Namsnanny x

Marydoll Thu 15-Aug-19 21:05:24

Namsnanny, you wouldn't have any problem understanding me, as I was brought up in the same town as David Tennant! grin. Just like David, I can "do" broad Glaswegian or refined Kelvinside.

It's a pity this isn't a Boasting thread, as I can mimic many accents! blush

MawB Thu 15-Aug-19 21:15:30

I too can speak the best “pan loaf “ when required. Marydoll [gringrin
