The weather is awful, it's not even August and the nights are drawing in. My husband has an irritating cough and the cat has disappeared.
AND... why are people moaning o about people moaning??
And why are people moaning about people moaning??
Oh Miss Adventure what a lot of fuss?!
It must be a week for sofa saga's.
I wanted to sell one on ebay, and I've used ebay for years, just hadn't sold anything.
Things went more or less ok. The buyers collected without any fuss, seemed pleased.
Now I find out that ebay are going to keep MY money for 21 days in abeyance!
What does that actually mean?
The buyers have the sofa they paid straight away, and ebay have the nerve to take the money I owe them for using their service, but I cant have the remainder for one month!!
Friggin' technology, I always get in a bother.
Also my +1 is in charge of most of the cooking (self appointed), and has decided to fry some mince.....have you seen the time?
Yuk! Smell is awful, notwithstanding I would rather use the vegetarian option anyway.
AND I just picked some lovely sweet scented roses from the garden a couple of hours ago, so now I cant enjoy them.
Are they sure married people live longer??
Well, I'm not entirely convinced that the 2 sofas are going to turn up on the 23rd.
The mans account has disappeared, and all the sofas he had for sale have gone too.
He hasn't responded to any messages, either.
So, I think if they do turn up I shall decide which I like best, and sell on the others. (At a loss, no doubt)
I blame eBay for putting the doubt in my mind.
Not my fault, obviously!
annsixty, what is your style? What do you like?
Miss A, there must be a way out of this? isn't there a cooling off period? Could you bung them £20 for inconvenience?
More sofa moans here (actually more of a panic)
Having given up on the eBay man, I bid on a huge corner sofa on eBay and won it.
Now eBay have contacted me to say they have resolved the issue with the original seller.
So, it looks like I'm going to have lots of sofas in the near future. Sigh.
Riverwalk ? I know, just that I had nothing to moan about
I have received 2 deliveries of clothes today .
I am going to stay with my D on Thursday so of course I have nothing to wear.
Two pairs of trousers, two t- shirts.
The t-shirts, M&S would fit me and another.
The trousers M&co, same sizes ordered, one pair petite fit, are fine, one pair sent standard length in error are 4 ins too long.I tried M&S for smaller size, which could have been delivered tomorrow now out of stock.
My husband is driving me crazy. He has got into the habit of starting a sentence but not finishing it. So I will say "What time are you going out?" and he will reply "Oh probably about......".
I will be there waiting for him to finish his answer and nothing. Sometimes I can ignore it but today I decided to pick him up on it every time it happens. Result........he got really angry and denies he is doing it. I am now angry as well.
Happy Days!!
AuntyFlo if you read through you'll see that it's not really a Moan but a Humour thread, and one of the best threads around!
Why Auntieflo ! Because we’re British of course !! Including all our lovely European adoptees and all who self identify with our British values ( constant complaining, chip shops, frequenting Poundland and being able to tell the difference between Piers Morgan and Jeremy Paxman )
Why have we got many more Moans, than the Happy thread?
I’ve got a cold!
My bathroom door which was sticking a bit has blown closed as the window was open and now I can't even budge it.
I wouldn't know what to do but have no tools to hand anyway.
I have a downstairs cloakroom which fortunately has most toiletries and toothbrush in there.
My S will be home about 6.30, he won't be bappy to have to start to sort that after a very long day at work.
Horrendous night as migraine and couldn’t sleep. DD rang with a major problem just before bedtime. Magoo kicked me really hard turning over and made my hip worse, and a cat has knocked over my Buddha in the back yard and knocked his arm off. Apart from all that everything in the back yard is rosey
DH and I had a visit to the V & A museum in Dundee yesterday. Now we aren't experts on Museums as such but I was very disappointed with it. The building itself is beautiful well done the architects, however there's an awful lot of empty space actually inside. The exhibits are few and far between and really for us not very interesting either, although to some they will be I suppose. The cafe and eating area upstairs is quite vast and expensive and certainly will make up for the free entrance to the museum as the prices for scones tea etc are all way too expensive. I have to say I've been but won't be back. That's my moan over, lets hope there are no more today
Mr Less is all jolly and fulfilled in his voluntary work. He was sporting a yellow tee shirt yesterday. It's so very annoying.
Yes me too Oldandverygrey!
Went for my pre-op today but still do not have a definite date for the op. I was told that afterwards I will never feel the same though. Originally op was planned for 19th but they are starting on a new bathroom on that day. Now I cannot get through to confirm they are really coming that day.
Just wondering if Bohemiam's chickens have laid any eggs yet.
annsixty - I sympathise. Every family has at least one little toe rag in it x
So sorry Marydoll
Someone will come along to help you.
Sadly it isn’t me.
Yesterday my S’s SD came for dinner , I see very little of her, it suits us both.
She didn’t greet me when she came in, no change there.
Next thing she was in the kitchen, trying a nectarine, she didn’t like it.
She went in the fridge and found a pot of olives, she at least looked at me questioningly and I said ,yes, you can have them.
Next thing she had helped herself to bowl of cereal and a glass of apple juice.
If by now you are wondering why my S and I didn’t say anything, it is a very, very difficult situation with her bipolar mother and my S, he does not live with her.
We have to tread on eggshells as there are 2 younger children who are used as threats.
I got the meal ready, my GS, her half brother was also there, he is so helpful and kind.
They decided to eat outside so GS set the table.
When everything was ready she was on the phone but did respond quite soon.
She then picked at her food, she picked some up with her fingers including meat, she nibbled some of the end of a fork, never using a knife.
In this fashion she did clear her plate
